When I went food shopping the other week, I decided to pick up a few 'lazy meals' as I often want something warm and filling straight away after walking home from work. I was looking out for the healthiest ready meals I could get, and I picked up this Weight Watchers meal without really paying much attention, as my basket was already full to bursting! I opened it the other day thinking I'd add some potatoes and veg to it, and was surprised to find it already had potato wedges and some veg in it! I hadn't even looked at the picture I was so busy reading the nutritional information, and assumed it was just a couple of chicken breasts! More specifically, the ... Read the complete review

'Marinated chicken mini fillets smothered in a chunky tomato, courgette, red pepper and basil sauce, served with crispy potato wedges' To be honest, the description sounded fine, but not overly exciting. However I've been eating a fair few of these Weight Watchers lunches lately, and was looking for a bit more variation, so thought it was worth a try. I'm on a pre-wedding diet (not doing so well, but that's down to a substance misuse problem I have with chocolate), so the nutritional content of my meals is important to me, however being a big foodie, I'm rarely prepared to sacrifice taste for fewer calories. With winter drawing in and doing ... Read the complete review

I'm really big on cooking, but lately, with being ill and having alot of troubles going around, I just can't be bothered cooking twice a day (plus scrambled eggs or oatmeal in the morning). Maybe this is the lazy way out, but I've found the best alternative to cooking all the time is the Weight Watchers ready meals. The bonus? They assist me with my weight loss too!! I've been eating these ready meals nearly every evening for the past few weeks, but only now have I decided to share my opinion on them with you. Today it's the Tomato & Basil Chicken one. According to the front of the box, "Marinated chicken mini fillets in a chunky tomato, ... Read the complete review

I really love cooking, but I think I have lost the will to cook! I really cant be bothered with 'proper' cooking lately - I live alone, so I find it's a lot of hassle to cook healthy meals for one, and often there can be a lot of wastage when I buy vegetables as they go off before I have a chance to use them all. Also after doing an 11 hour shift, the last thing you want to do is cook! I have decided I need to lose weight, and until I get my cooking mojo back, my freezer has become a sea of purple, with all the weight watchers ready meals I have purchased! I have already tried a few weight watchers meals so far- I love the chicken curry and the ... Read the complete review

It occurred to me that I was eating very little meat, so decided I needed to go in search for an animal of some sort I fancied tucking into. The purple packaging of the Weight Watchers frozen ready-meals attracted me over, my eyes locking on a Tomato and Basil Chicken option. Described as 'succulent marinated mini chicken fillets in a chunky tomato, courgette, red pepper and basil sauce, served with deep fried potato wedges', it certainly sounded appealing and worth a try. When you remove the meal and take off the film lid as instructed, it doesn't take long to cook if you pop it into the microwave (though you can cook it for 45 minutes in the oven if you have ...
