Advantages: Low fat, tasty, chocolatey !
Disadvantages: can get a bit sickly.
I do love chocolate cup cakes. I tried out the Weight Watchers one and totally loved them. Everyone knows Weight Watchers right ? People who are on healthy diets can benefit from Weight Watchers and they encourage people to live a more healthy low fat lifestyle
I have tried lots of Weight Watcher food such as ready made meals, Soup, pasta etc. And the cakes, even though wouldn't normally be healthy - are delicious an d low fat.
These cakes are simply a mini chocolate spongy cup cake. Covered in a thick Belgian chocolate with chocolate topping. You can get a box of 9 chocolate cup cakes. As always you get the Nutritional Info. Which is as follows, per cake you get :-
87 cals, Protein - 1.3g, Carbohydrates - 10.7 (6.7g Sugars), Fat - 4.3g (1.8g Saturates), Fibre - 0.4g, Sodium - 0.04g. These cakes can also contain wheat gluten, milk, egg & soya.
When you open these little beauties, you find that are quite big hardly the 'mini' cup cake. The cakes sit in a brown paper. The chocolate on the top is very thick and Belgian, it looks really tasty and you just wanna dive right in. The toppings on top of the cake make it look so scrumptious. These cakes have a very strong chocolatey smell when you open them which is divine, i loved picking the topping bits off the cake.
When you bite into the cake, it crumbles into your mouth, the Belgian chocolate which is the thick layer on top is the messy part in my opinion as it goes everywhere. The sponge part of the cake is quite creamy, you get a lovely texture of Dark chocolate and creamy sponge when your eating away, different tastes comes to your mouth. The toppings (sorry i don't know what else to call them) on the top actually have a taste of their own, i think it's waxy cheap chocolate type taste. Some part of the cake is a cheap taste and i think its the toppings. But the whole cake itself is a delicious treat to have. I find the cakes to be really filling, you get a pack of 9 but i can never handle more than 2 then put them away.
I bought my box of cup cakes for £1.79 at Sainsbury's. Other supermarkets won't be much different, so i think it's the same price for all places.
So, do i recommend these to you ? Yes ! Just because they are cakes, doesn't mean they are fatty and high in cals. These are Weight Watcher's and are there to take care of your healthy low-fat diet. So go a'head and try it out.
Summary: Try out your new low fat cup cakes.
