Wrigley’s Extra Ice Mints
Having what I believe to be a pregnancy craving for all things minty especially mints themselves it was only a matter of time before I came across these wonderful mints which not only taste great but freshen the breath in a cool way.
These Wrigley’s Extra Ice Mints have been out for a little while now but I have not seen them in that many places. I got this particular packet out of a multi pack, which I bought from Tesco’s costing £1.19 pence for four packets but they do also sell them singularly for around the 30 pence mark. This compared to other mints is a standard price, its not that cheap and its not that expensive. I would of preferred to have gotten them on a special offer as I have seen them on special from time to time and as I seem to be going through mints like there is no tomorrow it is costing me an arm and a leg.
These mints come in a packet around 10 cm in length and a blue and white coloured packaging. The wrapping is a silver foil lined paper type which works well for wrapping the mints up after you have taken one out and covering them well enough not to get bits in from the bottom of the handbag!
The mints themselves are about an inch in length and oval in shape. They are the perfect shape for sucking and fit into the mouth well making them easy to eat. They have a small well in the centre of the mint with a ridge surrounding it giving it a funny feeling inside the mouth against the tongue. The brilliant white shade that the mint is makes it look very appealing and very fresh.
The mint aroma is not that over powering when first opening the packet but on popping one in the mouth the cool minty explosion really does take place. The strong mint taste is released from the mint within the first few seconds and does come across very strong and quickly. The mint taste is that of a cool mint rather than a heavy mint and gives instant relief from any bad taste that may be in the mouth. They seem to melt in the mouth with ease all the time releasing the freshness that is held within.
I often can be found crunching on mints but I much prefer to suck these ones and take my time over them. The mint taste is far too strong to be crunching the mint up in the mouth and sucking them gives just the right amount of flavour. It also makes the mint last longer and give an all round fresher breath.
Mints are said to give a laxative effect if they are eaten to excess so I really should take head from this, as the last thing I want is to go into early labour with a bad case of diarrhoea!! Can you imagine!!! However the mints contain hardly any fat and you would have to eat 100 grams to intake 245 calories. The packet doesn’t day actually how many grams are contained within this packet only that the pack holds 16 individual mints. They are though suitable for vegetarians.
Overall these mints taste fabulous. They really do freshen the breath to a good standard and you would be comfortable talking to anyone at close range after sucking on one of these. The price is set fairly for what you are actually getting. They are not my favourite mint as spearmint polo’s still hold that position but I would say they are running high at the top with the polo’s.
