I've chewed Extra-Spearmint since it was first introduced...I buy it by the carton at Sam's...however this last time I was sooooooo disappointed. After less than 5 min. the gum turned as hard as paraffin. And the taste is gone...the formula has somehow been changed and it's a real shame. We tried every package in the carton, all the same. We had to throw them all out. They had a great gum and now its ruined.
William Wrigley Jr founded Wrigley.s in Chicago 114 years ago. The 29-year-old started off selling soap. Whilst selling his wares he gave away free samples of baking powder. He soon discovered that it was actually the baking powder the clients wanted, so he switched to selling baking powder and decided to give chewing gum away as his sample, And voila the rest is history.
Wrigleys make many different kinds of chewing gum and you've most probably heard of them all.
Extra is the latest offering from them and in my opinion the best. It comes in various flavours:-
and more are on the production line. Not all floavours are quite as readily available as the more popular peppermoint and Spearmint.
My personal favourite is Cool Breeze, which comes in a nice bright turquoise wrapping. It's has a minty cool taste which is great for fresh breath. My second fav is Spearmin which comes in a nice light green packet. This review will be on the spearmint vatiety.
It comes as I said in a light green packet, which is about 3.5 inches long just over .25 inches high and about 1 inch wide.
Each packet contains 10 pieces of gum. Every individual piece is crispy coated with the flavouring. This flavouring is very pleasant and not to strong, nice and spearminty.
The flavour itself lasts quite a long time so a packet should last you all day easily. I find if I do use more than this I tend to get a bit windy if you get my drift. (Pardon the pun) It also seems to make some people hungry.
I'm not a big eater of chewing gum but being a smoker I find it handy when I've sneaked out of work for a quick puff. It's a great evidence eliminator, or am I kidding myself and my boss has my card well and truly marked.
At about 30p per packet which works out at 3p a fag I mean 3p per piece it isn't bad value. It's available in most shops that sell confectionery. They also come in various size multi packs which give added value.
Apparently it can also be good for your teeth being sugar free and obviously the chewing of it gets all these wee nasty bits of food out.
The other flavours are all quite good, I guess it all depends on how you like your mint because thats what all the basic flavour is.
I'd reccommend this to anyone who has a breath problem or smokes, it does help. The last thing you need of course if you do suffer from bad breath is too eat too much and end up with a problem at both ends.
Please if you do use chewing gum dipose of it wisely, don't spit it out on the pavement.
wrigley's extra spearmint gum has got to be one of the best chewing gums around at the moment.Wrigleys has been goin for quite a while and they are great if you are on the move allday and you have a bit of bad breath this chewing gum not only freshens your breath but also seems to freshen yourself up. If you are thinging what the hell is he on about well why dont you give them a try.
When you are at work and you say have a important meeting and you have just had a grafty fag or some onions or garlic there is nothing worse than you bein able to taste what you had for dinner.Well once you have had a chewing gum you wont have that trouble it not only seems like you have fresh breath but like you have personaly been freshened up like a new you it feels like a bresh of fresh air has just blown throught you and freshened you up.
The chewing gum is sugar free gum so it helps you keep your sugar level down and your blood pressure. There is also different flavours you can get but i prefer spearmint and i think also alot of other people will. You can buy the packs from almost any shop or garages it is priced at 28p or you can go to the supermarket and pick up a pack of 5 for about £1.38p
This chewing gum is very refreshing and the taste last for about 30 to 40 mins and is great value for money as you get 10 pieces.
When my mum decided to try and give up smoking, I thought it was a great idea, Im not a smoker and the smell of it in clothes, around the house and the ashtrays is enough to make you want to leave home. So, buying lots of packets of chewing gum was a good substitute for her having a cigarette.
As well as helping her to stop smoking, chewing gum also helped her to not put on loads of weight whilst giving up smoking, its easy to substitute food for the tobacco cravings and lots of people end up piling on the weight.
Wrigleys extra spearmint flavour was the chewing gum she bought and I had to laugh when she came back from the shop with ten packets.
This one is her favourite and comes in a little green packet you open it by tearing the strip on the top side of the packet.
I have seen her struggle with this a few times as shes driving along in the car and I usually have to grab the packet to open it for her before she gets distracted from driving.
You get ten little pieces of chewing gum in each packet and each has a minty shelled covering.
When you open the packet you can smell the mint and we usually both have two pieces when were in the car, I like to chew this to freshen my breath and my mum chews it instead of smoking.
The flavour is very strong but not too hot, it is a nice minty flavour and when you bite into the shell of the these the soft chewing gum is inside.
The chewing gum will holds it's flavour for quite a while and costs around 37p depending on where you buy it from. Its sold almost in every shop and garage, so is easy to find.
This really helped my mum to give up smoking and Im really glad as this has improved her health and got rid of the smell of cigarettes from the house.
I enjoy chewing gum, it freshens your breath and helps to keep your teeth clean.
Some dentists now recommend chewing gum as it helps to release the saliva in your mouth and this also cleans your teeth and stops a build up of plaque.
The packets are small and convenient to carry in your pocket, in your bag and stash in the car for journeys, they can even help to stop travel sickness as mint settles the stomach.
I would recommend Wrigleys extra to anyone as it has the taste which is enjoyable and lasts, its cheap to buy and can help you stop smoking.
I have managed to give up smoking for about four years now and looking back I think it was one of the hardest things in the world to do. Not just because I lack will power but also as it made me put on weight, gave me bad cravings which even got me through my dreams and the hardest thing of all was going out for a drink with my mates in the pubs as you notice all the people with fags in their hands and mouths. So if your wondering what any of this has to do with chewing gum well, you'd be surprised at how helpful this can be. After a couple of days of not smoking I went into the shops to buy chewing gum, now I like a sugar free gum as it doesn't harm the teeth as much as one with sugar, so I bought wrigleys extra spearmint flavour. Which is my favorite and comes in a little green packet easily opened by tearing the strip on the top side of the packet. You get ten little oblong pieces of chewing gum which has a nice minty shelled covering. When you open the packet you can smell the strong scent of the mint and if like me you love chewing gum then pop two of these little pieces into your mouth for a good chew. The flavour is very stong but not too hot as to burn your mouth or make your eyes water like other brands I could mention, this is a nice minty flavour and when you bite into the shell of the these the soft chewing gum is revealed. The chewing gum will holds it's flavour for quite a while and for around 42p depending on where you buy if from I think this is a good deal. This really helped me to give up smoking, everytime I craved for a fag I reached for the chewing gum . Admittedly I must have been going through about three to four packets a day which is not as expensive as a packet of ciggies, but still alot. Nowadays I just buy one packet a day and this lasts me throughout the day. I enjoy chewing gum, it freashens your breath and helps to keep your teeth clean if you have to eat out and
can't get to a bathroom to clean your teeth. If your about to have a good long kiss this is really nice to chew before hand to freshen your breath so your partner isn't put off. Some dentists now recommend chewing gum as it helps to release the saliva in your mouth and this also cleans your teeth and stops a build up of plaque. For a little packet it really has its good uses and don't worry if you swallow gum, it won't stick your insides together this is just an old wifes tale. Remember though if you do chew gum please don't throw it on the floor as it can harm animals or get stuck in their fur and there's nothing worse than getting gum on furniture either. If you do chew it don't go to bed with it in your mouth there's many a time I remember my mum having to cut my hair when I was little because I'd got it stuck in my hair after falling asleep and losing the chewing gum in bed. I would recommend wrigleys extra to anyone as it has the extra taste staying power, is cheap to buy and can help you stop smoking.
