Zanavyku is a slightly salty baked white cheese from Lithuania. Originating from the small town of Marijampole, I am unclear whether it's sheep or cow's cheese - the taste would suggest possibly sheep but the picture of a smiling cow on the front of the label may say other wise! Zanavyku comes vacuum packed in a polythene bag. Slightly salty, it is similar in texture and taste to Wensleydale, the colour of the inside is the same but Zanavyku is sprinkled with various herbs and spices so that the outside of the cheese is orange, with little pieces of green, black and red on the outside.
