Sean John Unforgivable Eau de Toilette
by bhayanid
Having started recently to get into all my aftershaves and colognes, I have made it a habit to buy one new fragrance each week, and last week was the turn of none other than Sean John aka P Diddy, formerly known as Puff Daddy's Eau De Toilette aptly labelled Unforgivable.
SO why is the unforgivable I hear you ask your screen, ... well maybe cause it has copied elements of other fragrances, like the classic Green Irish Tweed, or maybe simply cause it's a relatively cool sounding name. Well I guess some may call it cool, others may call it unforgivable...sorry for the lame joke.
Ok so moving on to the fragrance, when it comes to notes etc I am not going to just list them out, cause as well as being a little lazy, I can never understand how that makes someone make up their mind. This is quite a fruity fragrance and you can definitely smell the hint of vanilla and apple. The initial spray has a great musky scent, which I guess would be amazing if it could last all the way through, however alas like all budget fragrances that initially smell great, after a while the dry down starts and this is where the real fun starts.
The dry down itself is decent enough, for the price I think this is an excellent fragrance. Currently you can get 30ml for under £14 at boots. You simply don't mess with prices like that, especially one of this quality. In terms of celebrity fragrances this is right up there with the best, and even better than the highly desirable Usher's UR budget fragrance which has earned rave reviews for its price.
So far I have six fragrances, and this goes safely into the pack at number 2, behind Davidoff's excellent cool water which just has something extra to it, but it definitely gets number 1 in regards to celebrity fragrances. I think for age groups I would recommend this towards anyone from the age of 18 upwards, but its more of a case of your personality. It is not a sporty fragrance and definitely not one to wear towards school or for daily wear at work, I think this is solely for the special occasions and going out at night, which seems strange for the cheap price tag.
On my skin this lasts around 5 hours, but this can vary from person to person, and the projection is OK. People won't be smelling you from metres away, but if you are up close and personal chatting to someone then they will definitely catch your scent, which I guess is what you would be looking for.
Overall I give this four stars, if they could get the initial spray smell to last all the way through then I would give this an easy five stars, but for its price I recommend this to anyone and everyone. Read the complete review |

Sean John Unforgivable Eau de Toilette
by Lakerfanster
**Introduction**
I first came across this fragrance a while back and thought that it was a very nice scent but at the time I had already got a couple of other fragrances so didn't feel the need to purchase a new one. Roll on to today when I thought I'd have a look in Boots for a new fragrance after running out of my Emporio ... Armani Diamonds fragrance. I was amazed when I saw the price of a Sean John Unforgivable gift set featuring a 30ml bottle of the eau de toilette and also a 75g deodorant stick, This was available for just £8.75 which I thought was a real bargain considering the usual price and the last time I looked at the box it was around £20. I thought I just had to pick up a bargain this good.
**Unforgivable**
This is the first fragrance from Music Mogul P Diddy who uses his first and middle names for the fragrance and clothes brand. hence "Sean John" Coombs. This fragrance was released in 2005 and has been a successful venture which has led to other fragrances for men and women. This particular fragrance is available in a number of sizes, 30ml, 75ml and also 125ml. The fragrance ranges from about £14 for the smallest bottle and around £45 for the large 125ml bottle which is around the same as what you would expect to pay for any similar big branded fragrance.
Opening Notes
This fragrance opens with cool clean and fruity notes of Sicilian Lemon, Italian Bergamot, Green Mandarin, Moroccan Tangerine and Grapefruit. These blend together to give a very pleasant Citrus tinged scent which lasts for a couple of hours before leading into the middle notes. This will undoubtedly impress on the first test spray. The fruity notes really kick off the fragrance well.
Middle Notes
Next up The middle notes change the feel to a slightly darker and musky fragrance with leafy greens of Juniper and Birch. And a hint of Champagne make this fragrance a very interesting and intriguing scent. These middle notes typically last for another two hours or so and then blend into the final phase of the fragrance which is of course the bottom notes.
Bottom Notes
We end things on a lovely woody feel with Australian Sandalwood, Amber & Tonka Bean, there are also hints of Rum. This gives the the fragrance a perfect night out feel and lasts for a good two or so hours before fading out into the night. I like the woody feel of the bottom notes and I believe the bottom notes top of the fragrance very well.
**Overall**
I am rather impressed by this fragrance, I am not really a fan of his music but when I tried this fragrance back when it was released I thought it was a nice scent. I would recommend this one to anyone who likes the mix between a fruity citrus scent combined with a woody overtone. As there are some great bargains around like I found I can see this fragrance getting somewhat of a sales boost. It's an excellent fragrance which I would recommend. I like the versatility of the fragrance as it's suitable for all occasions. I'm sure it will also appeal to women who smell the fragrance on men. Many people like a fragrance that their partner wears and I'm sure this one will really appeal. Look around for some great deals. Read the complete review |

Boots No7 Men Post Shave Recovery Balm
by alex-g
The wife got me a tube of this to fix my weather beaten craggy face, as she keeps calling it. I admit I was never into using all this face stuff, but being outside for work and obviously the cold and wind then I sort of see where she is coming from.
This is obviously from Boots and although I always thought No7 was all about ... make up, I am clearly wrong. This is in a 150ml tube and the wife said she got this for £7.50.
So you just use this after you shave. This will moisturise the area, and also I think this is meant to soothe any roughness and redness that may have ocurred while shaving. The balm is a medium thickness and even just a blob the size of a 10p will cover the area that you need to cover and this will give a generous covering as well. There isn't really much of a scent to this. It just smells of a Creamy scent. It is more of a Cream and not a Gel, so this isn't sticky feeling.
This is a plastic tube, so easy enough to hold and squirt a bit of this out as well.
This dries quick enough and afterwards my face looks a bit shiny, but in a alright sheen kind of way - not an oily shiny way. It feels soft enough as well.
I've been using this for about 5 months and there still seems to be a good enough amount left in here.
A good Balm which will look after your skin and the price isn't too bad either. Read the complete review |
