Chloe Signature Eau de Parfum
by helenc72
The Chloe eau de parfum is something I see as a modern classic among the female perfumes. I have loved this since the first time I tested it while browsing in an airport duty free a few years back.
The bottle, as you can see on the photo, is a simple sturdy glass rectangle with ridges, the name Chloe on it and a little bow ... around the neck. I think it looks classy and luxorious but understated and not showy. It really appealed to me when I first saw it, as the bow makes it feminine and pretty, but it doesn't look silly and over the top like a lot of the perfumes these days. It has a timeless look. I suppose the bottle is not that original as I find it quite similar to the Miss Dior Cherie.
After being attracted by the bottle, I hoped I would not find the actual scent a let down and I definitely did not! Chloe smells absolutely gorgeous and it is a scent I have not grown tired of. I have used it quite frequently over the last three or fours years and my mum also wears this sometimes and I also like it on her. If I had to sum up this fragrance I would say it is feminine and floral with some powderiness to it.
The notes according to BaseNotes are as follows:
Top Notes
Peony, Lychee, Freesia
Middle Notes
Rose, Magnolia, Muguet
Base Notes
Amber, Cedar
I can't really pick out the individual notes in this perfume as I feel like they have been blended or combined so well that it just comes across as one flawless fragrance, not a mix of different individual ingredients. Despite that, I would say the rose comes through quite a lot and I do see it as a rosy fragrance, but not just pure plain rose.
It is a fairly strong fragrance with very good sillage and lasting power, which makes it seem very high quality to me. Obviously it is easier to notice the sillage when you smell someone else wearing it than when you wear it yourself, and when my mum wears this the scent does waft over, and I don't have to stand right up next to her to detect any of it. When I wear it myself I can smell hints of it throughout the day especially if I spray a bit in my hair and smell it as I turn my head. It lasts extremely well throughout a whole day. Though it is strong and long lasting, it is not overpowering or overwhelming at all. It smells quite soft.
I feel like Chloe EDP is like a slightly more mature version of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb. That's not to say they really smell similar - Chloe is less sweet and a bit more powdery but it has the same excellent sillage and I get a similar very feminine vibe from both. Just like Flowerbomb I can recognise Chloe instantly if I smell someone wearing it. To me Chloe smells like a scent for a strong, independent but still sensitive and girly female of any age. I love it and definitely recommend trying it.
Price wise, at Boots Chloe EDP costs £39.50 for 30 ml, £52 for 50 ml or £67 for 75ml. This is more expensive than some perfumes but roughly what I would expect from a designer fragrance and I don't find the price too off putting. It does last a long time as you don't need to top it up throughout the day. Read the complete review |

Chloe Signature Eau de Parfum

Over the years I have had many different perfumes. I favour the lighter perfumes & was swapping between two popular perfumes for a year or so.
But then I had a big decision to make...............my wedding perfume!!
I didnt want to wear my usual perfume because I wanted something new & different for my ... wedding day, but I also wanted something that I could carry on wearing throughout the year, without it being too overpowering.
So I tried & tested a few perfumes & this one came out on top.
It smells beautiful. It has a light floral smell that lasts all day. It seems quite strong when I first spray it on, but after just a few seconds it settles & just leaves a subtle fragrance all day that can be smelt on my clothes.
I only need to spray it 2 or 3 times for it to last the day, so my first bottle did last me a long time (lasted just over a year). Although I did not use it every day. But when I ran out, I did buy more as it has now become my 'signature' scent. I wear it a lot & often get compliments on the smell.
For me, the price wasn't an issue as it was for my wedding & now that it is my favorite perfume, I don't mind spending a bit extra on it, as I know it's not a waste of money. It is also in about the same price range as the other perfumes I've liked over the years, so for me it is worth the price I paid. Read the complete review |

Chloe Love Eau de Parfum
by kama0529
I bought a bottle of Chloe Love Eau de Parfum on the recommendation of my sister-in-law. I only bought the smallest bottle size at 30 mls because I hadn't actually tried it before - and I guess in retrospect I should have asked her if I could have a sniff first, but on the whole I've always trusted her opinion and so I went with it. A 30 ... ml bottle of Chloe Love Eau de Parfum cost me £38.50 from theperfumeshop.com - which is about an average price for a decent perfume.
I wasn't particularly enamoured with the design of the bottle at all. I'm a bit of a sucker for a pretty or elaborate perfume bottle, but I found this to be really quite dull and unimaginative. The bottle was mostly of plain glass with a gold base with the "Love Chloe" logo etched onto it. The bottle top is also just a plain gold top. There just isn't anything interesting about it. I'm not saying that the design of the bottle is majorly important, but I do like my perfume to look special.....and this just doesn't look that way.
The smell of the perfume is okay - but it's not anything particularly distinctive. The perfume is quite flowery and sweet, but there is nothing zesty about it and it smells like it's without depth. I tend to like my perfumes that are quite spicy or musky, but this is more like something my grandmother might have warn than something I feel attractive wearing. It's not that there is anything wrong with it per se, it's just that it's not really my cup of tea. It's just a bit blah. Read the complete review |
