Intimately Beckham Yours Her Eau de Toilette
by cyberem78
I recently got a special offer three pack of Victoria Beckham perfumes as a gift and this included the Intimately Beckham Yours. The perfumes are mini bottles so mine is only 15 mls or 0.5 Fl. Oz in size however the perfume is also available to buy in bigger sized bottles starting at 30mls. I have to admit that these perfumes were not a ... gift I was very excited about receiving. I'm not a big Victoria Beckham fan and felt her perfume range might be low grade.
The perfumes came in different coloured boxes to distinguish them from one another and this one came in shiny gold packaging. Nothing really excites me about the packaging though and I don't feel the colour scheme or font used really reflects on anything to do with how the perfume smells.
Apparantly this perfume was produced by the Beckhams (Victoria and David) to capture the intimacy of their relationship and reflect the deep love and raging passion they feel towards each other. This is a little bit of a sickly thought to me, to be honest, although I appreciate the notion of trying to capture certain emotions and certain lifestyles in a scent.
The perfume bottle is heavy glass and is square in shape. This looks quite unique and glamorous but the shape is a bit awkward when carrying around in a handbag as it is quite broad with pointed edges. The top of the bottle is a gold cover which is stamped with a curious logo. The logo reminded me a lot of the YSL logo but I had to look at it for a long time before I realised it is the initials D.V.B combined with a fleur de lis. The logo suggests the couple are aiming towards a perfume range that they want to be taken seriously. The lid doesn't always sit well on the bottle and spins around and comes off quite easily. Underneath the dispensing nozzle is a standard metal button. The tube which feeds into the bottle extends into one corner so at the end of use you can manage to spray out every last drop.
Quite a lot of perfume is dispensed in one spray - enough to rub over both wrists or apply once to the neck. The fragrance is instant and encompassing. The perfume apparantly has notes of "fressia, pear Leaves and sparkling bergamot". The initial impact reveals that this is a very feminine perfume. The most obvious notes are intensely sweet, almost sickly sweet. This sweetness smells like sacarin and autumn fruits that have burst their skins. There is a hint of fizzy champagne and toffee apples. It feels very misty and dense due to the lower notes of sandalwood, orris and vetiver. A delicate floral heart includes notes of Orange Flower Petals, White Lily Casablanca and the exotic Frangipani flower.
This perfume did not smell like I expected it to. I imagined that all of Victoria Beckham's perfumes would be sharp and business-like, perfect for women who like to glam up. This is a much softer, more romantic perfume and to be honest it does fit with the idea of reflecting a lasting, loving relationship from the female's perspective even if I find this idea a bit mawkish. I do like the perfume although it's a lot more girly than perfumes I usually opt for. I would say this perfume would ideally suit younger women who are quite feminine in their fashion style and easygoing in their attitudes to life.
The perfume is not overpowering but after applying you can smell it on yourself for a long time afterwards. It is long lasting and other people are able to smell it on me with ease. I do feel very clean, polished and ladylike when I'm wearing this perfume. It makes me feel like I'm younger than I really am and embraces all of my female imaginings.
I am not certain I would buy this again although I've been using it regularly. I like the perfume but I don't love it and don't feel it's my signature perfume. I would, however, recommend it to other women. Read the complete review |

David Beckham Intimately Eau de Toilette

~*~ The Purchase ~*~
I bought this perfume as part of a gift set around a year ago in the 2012 January sales. I didn't particularly want or need it, but seeing as it was reduced by a few pounds I decided that it was a bargain and ended up buying a few of the gift sets with the intention of giving them away as presents, but I ... ended up keeping one for myself.
~*~ Price ~*~
I bought this as part of a gift set which came with the 30ml perfume, a body lotion and a shower gel and I paid around £20.00 if I remember correctly. A 30ml bottle currently retails at around £15.00 and there's also a larger 75ml bottle available as well.
~*~ The Bottle ~*~
The glass bottle is incredibly simplistic and not particularly eye catching or unique, however it looks reasonably good quality and it doesn't look out of place amongst my many other perfumes. It's basically a short, squat square shape with a cubed shaped lid and a golden spray nozzle along with the perfume name written in golden writing on the front.
~*~ The Smell and My Opinion ~*~
As I mentioned above, I've had this perfume for around a year now and I've barely touched it because I really don't like it, but I can't bring myself to throw it away so it's just sat on my dressing table! The smell is just really overpowering and not at all what I was expecting it to smell like. I was expecting a girly, summer light fragrance which would be versatile enough to wear whenever I wanted.
It's a very generic floral fragrance which would be nice if it wasn't so pungent, but it also has some quite odd undertones to it which smell quite unpleasant. The top notes consist of bergamot & rose petals while the heart notes include Casablanca lily, tuberose and orange blossom. The base notes are vanilla and sandalwood. There's quite a strong musky scent which starts to become more noticeable over time which helps balance out the floral scent and sweetness of the vanilla, but the different scents don't really work well together in my opinion.
I'd say that the scent would be best suited to a young woman, although at 21 I find it a bit too young for me because of the almost sickly vanillary floral sweetness. This is just my personal preference though and I'm sure that both older and younger women may like it. As for the lasting power, it's dire. I'd say it takes around three to four hours before it has almost completely faded, which I find bizarre considering how strong and overpowering the scent is! Because this is such an overpowering scent I don't feel comfortable wearing this on a daily basis in case people around me find it too strong, and as a result I very rarely wear it and I wouldn't recommend it.
~*~ Overall ~*~
I'm not keen on this perfume and I give it two out of five stars. It's an overpoweringly strong fragrance and the lasting power is absolutely rubbish.
One out of five stars. Read the complete review |

David Beckham Instinct Sport Eau de Toilette
by Lakerfanster
**Introduction**
I have now owned a few David Beckham fragrances and have found the brand to be very good and great value compared to other Celebrity fragrances. Instinct Sport is one of the more recent fragrances in the David Beckham range and I first purchased a tube of the shower gel and after liking the scent I decided to ... give the eau de toilette a try and was very impressed which led me to buying a bottle. You can find the fragrance for a reasonable price. With Christmas fast approaching you can find some decent gift set bargains for around £14 in which you will find a 50ml bottle of the eau de toilette and a 200ml bottle of the shower gel which is a decent price for the two.
**Instinct Sport**
You can find this fragrance in the any of the major fragrance stores like Boots, Superdrug, The Fragrance Shop etc as well as from many online stores like Amazon and Ebay. The fragrance is appealing from the shelf with it's bright Orange colour and Black print. The appeal continues with a spray as you get a lovely mix of ginger ale and mandarin which gets the fragrance off to a strong start which is followed by the excellent fruity apple scent which is mixed with a leafy scent which has a subtle kick to it. The fragrance closes with a woody note courtesy of Cashmeran, Patchouli & Sandalwood. The fragrance lasts well given it's price point and you can get about six to eight hours of the fragrance with each notes separated by the same length of time.
Top Notes
Ginger ale, Mandarin
Middle Notes
Geranium leaves, Apple, Violet leaves, Ozone
Base Notes
Cashmeran, Patchouli, Sandalwood
**Overall**
As someone who is a huge fan of David Beckham as a Player I was intrigued when he brought out a fragrance range and was pleasantly surprised when I tried them for the first time as they were rather good and not just one or two but there have been several that I have now owned and really liked. I add this one to that list and with Christmas coming up I might hit the sales like I did last year and pick up a couple of gift sets of these. If you liked the previous David Beckham fragrances then you might really like this one. It's an excellent scent which deserves to gain the strong reputation that previous David Beckham fragrances have had. Ideal for the younger fella. As far as I'm concerned this is another excellent fragrance in the David Beckham fragrance range. Read the complete review |
