“ Brand: Adidas / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for men „
Another bad one of my christmas presents from a while back. I knew it was going to be the same as the shower gel and body spray that came with it. But the eau de toilette turned out to be worse than the shower gel which was ok.
This is a cheapo fragrance and not one to impress the bloke in your life with. I think this is best for young spotty boys who never shower and sweat a lot. You know the ones who cover that fact with loads of cheap stuff like this to get out of washing, but will still be allowed to sit next to girls in class if wearing aftershave.
I didn't mind the shower gel with this one it was ok, cheap, synthetic but ok. The adidas game spirit eau de toilette was more tobacco water with lemon toilette cleaner chucked in. It pongs and reminds me of stale tobacco and its thick like smog when you put some on.
If you like that kind of thick pongy aroma then this will suit you. It sticks a lot and won't budge. In reality its not a good one at all. There are better cheap smells you can buy. I would stay clear of this unless you are unlucky and get it as a present and have no excuse but to wear it.
I think the bottle is ok, its functional thats all, but it works ok. The lid fits on tight, so no spills and the bottle stands flat. I didn't get any spills when I had this, but no thrills either. No good comments about it and more of the what the heck are you wearing type ones instead.
I thought about using the adidas game spirit as air freshener or to freshen up trainers etc after the gym. That failed, it made my trainers stink and they had to be washed to get rid of the smell of this. It hung around like and old gym bag till then. Not good.
There is a lemon kind of smell to this. It is much better in the shower gel, easier to detect, less like toilet duck. The eau de toilette has a tobacco smell underneath that is heavy and not refined. There is jasmine listed here as well, but I didn't detect that in the misty heavy smell this has.
I wouldn't say this will suit a man who wears more up market gear and the only thing I think this is good for is younger lads. They can splash it all over in the morning and still smell of it in the afternoon. It sticks like glue.
I wouldn't recommend this one. There are better cheapo eau de toilettes you can buy. I know this stuff is in a lot of chirstmas gifts and sets. Try to avoid it because it is a very cheap aroma. You can buy to cheap. Its about £5 for a bottle of game spirit and the gift sets sell for under £10.
I received this product as a set years ago- I must've been like 13 or 14. The person who gave it to me was a thoughtless idiot - I'd rather have the money instead... *sigh* I did NOT use fragrances then, but did finish the shower gel. Now I just found this and have started using it in small amounts...
Adidas Game Spirit fragrance comes in a rather bland bottle, which is short and stout, slightly rounded in shape- really uninspiring. It comes with a pull on and off lid (plastic) and has a simple spray mechanism.
On the bottle: "a masculine scent with middle notes such as jasmine and citrus base notes: amber, tobacco, wood. Ideal for day or night wear on any man."
The fragrance is really synthetic and smells like deodorant (exactly the same as one it came with) which isn't that great as it is quite strong, hence using it in small amounts. I do not really smell the jasmine or citrus at all, though the tobacco and wood is somewhat evident. After using it a few times, it does grow on you and gets you slightly addicted. It is quite a manly scent which is nice but obviously not nice enough because no one has commented on it!
Personally, the fragrance is a bit common and isn't special at all. It smells like everyday deodorant as I said which doesn't appeal to me, and if I smelt that on someone, I would be indifferent.
I take a guess that the person who got this for me bought it for discount somewhere for under £5 (it was part of secret santa with a £5 budget). After googling, this on its own cost under £5.
Overall, I would not buy this fragrance again because it just isn't me. I'm much more of an excitable person and will choose something more upbeat and less generic. I do not want to be smelling of manly deodorant as a fragrance! Unless you want to smell of deodorant, find something else- certainly don't give this as a gift.
Over the years I have owned a wide range of fragrances from a number of designers and now and again I dip into the lower priced fragrances. I started using Adidas shower gels and deodorants over ten years ago and decided to try the eau de toilette sprays of some of my favourite Adidas fragrances. One such one which I tried a few years and was subsequently given for Christmas one year. That was of course Adidas Game Spirit which you can often find in a package with shower gel and deodorant around Christmas time.
I remember really liking the scent of the deodorant of this when I first tried it and when I received the eau de toilette I was pleased. Game Spirit was released in 2004 and is also available as an aftershave. The edt and after shaves are availlable in 50ml and 100ml bottles and can be found for around £5-£10 which is not bad for a good fragrance and it is quite widely available as you would expect from an Adidas product. In my opinion this is an ideal summer fragrance and would be a great second fragrance for people who have a more expensive brand fragrance.
If I had to describe this fragrance compared to a very popular more expensive fragrance I would say it's a bit like Joop which is indeed a very well known fragrance which continues to sell very well. As you know every fragrance subtly changes throughout the day and this one lasts a decent length of time in between the notes which is another plus point for the relatively low price of the fragrance. So here are the various notes
in this fragrance.
The opening notes include pineapple, melon, lavender and Bergamot. This really starts off the fragrance well and it gives a fine example of the Summery feel of the fragrance. Ideal for warm summer nights outside. Lasts for around 3-4 hours before blending into the middle notes.
This is where the Summery feel comes in with a very nice blend of jasmine and citrus which is fragrant yet light enough to be a versatile fragrance for various conditions and occasions. The middle notes last for 3-4 hours before leading into the base notes.
This fragrance changes subtly to a more musky scent with Amber, tobacco and a woody tone. This scent lasts for around 2-3 hours before it starts to fade out and become slightly stale compared to more expensive fragrances which you might expect.
I would recommend this fragrance for day and night use particularly in the Summer. It's ideal for work, home, nights out. I think it's an ideal second fragrance for a man and has a lot going for it despite the cheaper price compared to the big fragrance brands like Calvin Klein and Lacoste etc. This fragrance gives a decent length of scent and does not need too many sprays when you apply it.
This is a decent budget option which gives a decent fragrance and decent staying power but falls short in terms of out and out quality compared to more expensive fragrances but that is somewhat to be expected. If you have a special fragrance then why not try this for everday wear and keep your more expensive fragrance for special occasions. This is a good fragrance for the price which is versatile and has decent staying power. Good product and one which I might buy again.
