Agent Provocateur Eau de Parfum
Advantages: Long lasting
Disadvantages: None for me
I recently received some samples of different Agent Provocateur perfume, this was a range of perfume that I hadn't really heard about and didn't know what the different fragrances were like. One of the fragrances I received was Agent Provocateur by Agent Provocateur, I do have my favourites when it comes to perfumes but I am always keen to try new ones to add to my ever growing list so was keen to see what this type of perfume was like.
Obviously the sample Agent Provocateur by Agent Provocateur does not come in the style bottle it is sold in, my perfume came in a small thin glass bottle, it has a pale pink spray top but without a lid. It has the name Agent Provocateur written on the side in pale pink swirly writing, the words Eau Provocateur are also printed on the side of the bottle in the same pale pink colour. The small glass bottle came in a rectangle cardboard box along with the other Agent Provocateur samples in, this had a picture of each of the perfumes on the front on the bottles that they are sold in, the ingredients of each of the perfumes is also written on the back of the box in the colour to match the perfume bottle.
As I have mentioned I have never tried the Agent Provocateur perfume before so had no idea what the fragrance would be like. The perfume is basically a clear liquid just like water, there is not colour to it at all. Some of the notes within the fragrance of this perfume are quite obvious but there are others which I had no idea were there, the notes included
* Top Notes - Saffron and Coriander
* Middle Notes - Moroccan Rose, Jasmine, Magnolia, Ylang Ylang and White Gardenia
* Base Notes - Vetvier, Amber and Musk
When I saw what the top notes were I was quite surprised, I'm not sure what coriander should smell like in a perfume but I wouldn't have said these were the top notes of the perfume. This is definitely a floral fragrance when the perfume is first sprayed I can more or less detect the rose and jasmine fragrances, as this develops the floral notes are still the most dominant, when I first sprayed the Agent Provocateur perfume onto my skin I felt it was quite a harsh smell, however after just a few minutes it became much softer, although it did retain the slight spicy smell it has. Personally I feel that it doesn't take long for the base notes to start to show and it is the musk that is the dominant fragrance here and softens the slightly harsher floral and spicy notes. This perfume is described as being a fragrance for evening wear, I would have to agree, it is suited to evenings out, the fragrance is quite strong and I feel for the day time this could be a bit too strong. Every time I have worn the Agent Provocateur perfume the floral notes are the most dominant and remain throughout the whole day, the only change is when the base notes begin to develop (which is quite quickly) and these sweeten the fragrance a little and make it a bit more subtle. I wouldn't say this perfume is over powering but it definitely isn't mild it does have quite a strong distinctive fragrance, I personally find that I do not need much of this on at once, however that depends on your personal preference and how strong you like your perfumes to be.
Price and Availability
The Agent Provocateur perfume can be purchased in a variety of places such as department stores and shops like Superdrug and Boots which have a perfume section, the perfume can also be purchased online, I have found it available on cheapsmells.com at very reasonable prices. The Agent Provocateur perfume comes in three different sizes, obviously the size reflects the price.
* 30ml - £21.65
* 50ml - £33.50
* 100ml - £44.45
Personally I felt these were quite reasonable prices especially when compared to the prices this is sold for in some shops, it is worth the money as I find the perfume quite long lasting as you do not need too much of this at once making it good value for money. I would say it is definitely worth shopping around for the best price as it does vary quite a bit from place to place especially online.
I have worn my Agent Provocateur by Agent Provocateur perfume several times now and do really like the fragrance, I was partially pleased with the sample I received as I got a lot of perfume in the small bottles meaning I could get a really good idea of what the fragrance was like. I did wonder if I was going to like this at first as it was quite a strong smell when first sprayed, however after a couple of minutes and the fragrance softened I did really like it especially when mixed with the base notes (although Musk was the only one I could really detect) This perfume is totally different to the others I have so it was nice to add something a bit different to my collection.
Personally I would say this was more of an evening perfume rather than a daytime one, I would wear this for an evening out. Providing you shop around I would say it was reasonably priced, however some places do over price it a little, I would probably purchase it online as the prices are much more reasonable, it is definitely worth the money as it is long lasting, you really only need a small amount at once. This would be the perfect perfume for someone who like floral and slightly spicy fragrances. I would certainly wear this again in the future and would recommend it.
