I have been wearing this scent for the past decade. I first smelled it on a fellow student one evening, and I was absolutely enthralled!
When my friend told me the name of this fragrance and the name associated with it. I had never even heard of Anna Sui. It transpires that she is a US-based designer who is very well known for her female clothes lines as well as the elaborate designs of her perfume bottles and packaging.
The bottom half of the cardboard box is ocean blue and this fades into a silvery white over the top half of the box. There is a silvery leaf or sea weed pattern which is pretty and tasteful. These colours and style fits well with the bottle.
The perfume bottle is handbag shaped. The ocean blue coloured liquid fragrance is in an opaque, glass section, and then there is a deep neck, handle and depressor. All these are silver, an almost pewter-like appearance although I think it is made of plastic.
This is an oriental vanilla fragrance which reminds me a little of Opium. Launched in 2000, I understand from Fragrantica.com that the notes are as follows:
Top notes: nectarine, mandarin orange, bergamot and bitter orange Middle notes: freesia, peach, chinese peony and rose Base notes: nutmeg, sandalwood, musk, tahitian vanilla, cedar and anise.
I truly adore the smell of Sui Dreams on me. It is a light, fresh vanillary-musk scent. I have only ever had the EDT, so obviously it only lasts a few hours.
Wearing this makes me happy! Or is that keeps me happy?
One word of warning is that the fragrance itself is blue so users need to ensure that none gets on any light-coloured clothing.
This can be a difficult fragrance to find. My current bottle is the 30ml size EDT for which I paid just under twenty pounds at The Perfume Shop in Chapelfield, Norwich. I think that the last three bottles I own have been bought at this chain and the one before that at an independent pharmacy in London.
It is currently listed at Amazon.co.uk for 22-26 pounds with minimal shipping costs.
Recommended? This has been my favourite scent for many years. I highly recommend it, however as fragrances are so personal, it may be that this one is not for you. If you like vanilla scents and in particular Opium, I recommended giving this one a go.
Please note that I have also published this review on Ciao and may choose to do so elsewhere.
Anna Sui is an American clothes designer with Chinese heritage. As well as her fashion range she is popular for products in cosmetics, eye-wear, accessories and perfumes. Her perfume line started in 1999 and she released Sui Dreams in 2000 - which is the perfume I will be reviewing today.
Anna Sui : Sui Dreams was one of the first perfumes I can remember trying and sticking with - I was about 13 years old - as a birthday present from my parents. My mum has great taste in purfumes but mainly I think she bought me this as she knew I would love the appearance of the bottle.
The bottle itself is shaped like a handbag - there is a silver plastic handbag handle at the top - which is engraved with the perfume name - Anna Sui - and the perfume contents are stored in the engraved glass container under this. The glass section is transparent which then gives you the colour of the purfume which is electric blue.
The spray nozzle is hiden between the top and bottom of the "handbag handle" and there is no protective lid like you see on other perfumes. However from the way the purfume packaging has been designed it is very well protected and it would spoil the appearance of the bottle in my opinion. The spray nozzle isn't particually large and is quite firm which will not cause any leakages.
Although the perfume itself it a really bright blue colour, when I first tried it I was worried it would stain my clothes this colour! However the colour seems to go clear when it leaves the bottle.
Away from the appearance of the attractive bottle lets move on to the actual perfume scent itself : It is absolutly devine! Very sweet girly - non overpowering scent which in my opinion would suit a young girl / teenager / young adult. You don't need to use a lot and you can tend to smell it continiously throughout the day or a night out and you do get a lot of compliments on the scent. In my opinion it is more of a day perfume - something to use to the office or a day out, I prefer muskier perfumes for nights out... But I have on occasion used this as a night time perfume.
For those interested in the notes, the top notes are : nectarine, mandarin orange, bergamot and bitter orange - middle notes are freesia, peach, chinese peony and rose - base notes are nutmeg, sandalwood, musk, tahitian vanilla, cedar and anise ... Base notes to me however mean nothing I never think they give a true reflection of what the scent is like. If I was looking at these notes I would imagine the perfume to be very fruity and musky, which in my opinion doesn't reflect it.
At 25 years old now, I still love the Sui Dreams perfume and I was to pick a favourite this would be in my top 10. I still buy this for myself every couple of months and do still recieve it as a gift for my birthday or Christmas. Sui Dreams can also be bought as part of gift sets where you get matching blue toilet bags and bath and shower products. Over the years I have recieved a few of these and the toilet bags are very useful! I also love the bath and shower products which do linger on the skin for a couple of hours and smell just like the perfumes.
One thing I love about this perfume is that you can pick it up reasonably cheap - last year I picked up a 30ml bottle on special offer from the Perfume Shop at just £10 - so as you would imagine I stocked up as normally you would expect to buy 30ml for between £20-£30.
In my opinion this is a great gift for any young lady - and I will tell you from personal experiance boys love it - not on theirselves obviously but they love the scent... drives them mad! If you have not smelled this before I would recommend you go into a Perfume Shop or department store and ask for a tester I guarentee your will also be addicted!
I was first bought this perfume as a present, simply because someone thought I would love the bottle. I do it's brilliant and looks great ony my shelf! However it actually smells amazing.
I like sweet smelling fresh perfumes and this ticks all the boxes. I have since replaced it every time it runs out, meaning Anna sui has probably made quite a bit of money out of me other the years!
I have notice people also comment on how nice it smells a lot, which is always nice. The smell is lasts for ages without ever being over-powering.
This is definately the best perfume by this designer one I'm sure I will continue to buy in years to come. It also is affordable and boots often do special offers on it before and after Christmas when they want to sell their gift sets.
If all else just the amazing bottle is a reason to buy!
Sui Dreams is a sweet, lingering perfume which wafts and flows around wherever you go. It lasts for a few hours on the skin and smells absolutely beautiful.
The first time I got this perfume was Christmas 2006. I was mesmerised by the beautiful little carved glass handbag with this vivid blue liquid inside, it really is a wonder to look at. When I sprayed it I was instantly in love! I like sweet perfumes and this one is certainly sweet, powdery and uplifting.
~~~ Initial Impressions ~~~
As I have said, on fist sight I was enchanted by the beautifully crafted perfume bottle. On smelling the perfume I was immediately reminded of sweeties and childhood innocence. It smells very sweet and powdery. I am not sure if the word powdery makes sense to you, but, there's something akin to the scent of baby powder, but it doesn't actually smell like baby powder.
When spraying for the first time, chances are you will be checking to see how blue it actually is when it goes on to your skin. It does actually look a little bit on the blue side but does not stain your clothes or skin...the colour seems to disappear.
~~~ Fragrance ~~~
Sui Dreams can be described as sweet, warming and floral. It's quite a sensual fragrance with notes of vanilla and peach. It's definitely a bright and fresh fragrance which manages to be comforting and uplifting at the same time.
Top Notes (The sharpest, more instant scents in the mix which disperse the fastest): Nectarine, Mandarin, Orange, Bergamot
Heart Notes (The middle, warming scents, not too sharp, not too musky, they give the perfume some of its ability to last a long time): Freesia, peach, peony and rose
Base Notes (The deepest, muskiest scents which take longer to come through in the fragrance but allow it to last a long time): Nutmeg, sandalwood, musk, vanilla and anise.
I would say that of the top notes, Nectarine is the strongest, of the heart, probably a mixture of peach and peony and of the base notes definitely vanilla and perhaps musk. It's quite a complex fragrance, but as you can see, the main scents are all sweet and fruity and floral. Although the perfume does contain some quite big base scents, it is not a heavy fragrance, it is light and girly and carefree.
~~~ Price and Availability ~~~
Sui Dreams is available in most places where perfume is sold. It is always available in Boots and specialised perfume shops as well as Frasers and Debenhams. It's also usually available in places like Semi Chem, Superdrug and Body Care. There are often great offers where you buy Sui Dreams eau de toilette and you receive a shower gel or moisturiser along with it. This is wonderful; grab the opportunity if it is available as it is great for layering the scent!
A 30ml bottle of the eau de toilette is usually around £25; however, prices vary quite considerably depending on the shop/website and also the time of year. There are often offers on and it's certainly good value for money.
~~~ Conclusion ~~~
This is one of my absolute favourite perfumes. It is affordable and smells expensive. The little handbag shaped bottle is quirky and modern and fits nicely into a bag as it's quite broad but flat (about 7cm by 10cm by 2.5cm). It's also excellent value as, although it is an eau de toilette (which usually do not last as long as eau de parfum) it is made with oils rather than water and alcohol, which means that it actually lasts just as long.
There is actually a lot of sentimentality attached to this perfume for me. Fragrances have an amazing power to transport us through time and space. This particular fragrance takes me back to that happy Christmas day with relatives and my uncle who is no longer with us. It also takes me back to working in a bookshop, surrounded by books and having a good laugh with my colleagues, not an idyllic memory, just a happy, carefree one, which is certainly what this perfume represents to me - happy, carefree days and nights out.
It's a soft, warm, sweet, happy, joyful fragrance. I recommend that you try it - it smells wonderful!
I first used this perfume about a year ago when I friend bought me a bottle of it for my birthday. I had heard of the perfume before as it has been on the market since the year 2000 but had somehow managed to avoid every knowingly coming into contact with it. I have had Anna Sui perfumes before and always found their scents to be lovely, but slightly on the overpoweringly strong side. However that was not the case with this perfume.
The Sui Dreams perfume comes in a beautiful handbag shaped bottle the upper half of which, including the 'handle' is made of metal look plastic and the lower half made of glass, both have pretty flower detailing on them. The Perfume liquid itself is blue in colour. The nozzle/spray button (I have no idea of its actual technical name) where the perfume is release from is located under the 'handle' of the bottle.
***The dreamy scent***
As most people do the first thing I did when I removed the perfume from it's box was sniff the bottle, which quite obviously proved pointless as the bottle had never been sprayed before and therefore had no lingering smell around the nozzle. So I sprayed some on to my wrist instead and instantly fell in love with the smell! The first thing I noticed was the sharp, zesty hint of citrus fruits such as orange. However, once the perfume settles the fragrance becomes much softer and aromas of Rose and Vanilla (a smell I already love) can be detected and this is the scent that remains. In my opinion this is a beautiful, romantic, feminine fragrance. It is not an 'in your face' scent and therefore I wouldn't describe it as a sexy smelling perfume and so wouldn't wear it on a night out .Instead it makes me think of the late stages of love, when you know everything about your partner and you are comfortable and happy and you have soft, gentle kisses while cuddling up on the sofa together to watch a film and share a bottle of wine (I have no idea why that is what I think of when I smell this perfume, I guess I am just a soppy romantic a heart).
.........Back in the real world, the scent lasts really well and I can still smell it hours after I first put it on. The perfume is released from the bottle really easily with just a light press of the nozzle/spray button and the bottle, despite its odd shape is actually really easy to hold while spritzing the perfume onto your skin.
A 30ml bottle of Sui dreams can be purchased from Superdrug for £22.99 but prices vary depending on where you shop. I am more than happy to pay this price for such a beautiful perfume; it is now definitely my favourite! I have already recommended it to several friends who have commented on the smell and really liked it and will continue to recommend it.
The Perfume Shop describes Anna Sui Dreams as 'A sharp, oriental fragrance. This feminine scent possesses a blend of citrus with soft flowers and lower notes of vanilla, sandalwood, cedar and nutmeg.'
£23.50 for 30ml from Body Shop
£32.50 for 50ml from Body Shop
A see-through glass handbag shaped bottle, with a silver lid for the handle.
I got this perfume as part of a set of little perfumes and it is by far my favourite one which I use over and over.
Although it is a tiny bottle, I have been using it for a long time (one year plus) and I still have plenty left. It has lasted a long time! The perfume is quite strong smelling and therefore you only need a little bit.
The little bottle is a perfect size to fit into my make-up bag when travelling. I also really like the packaging and looks cute.
I don't feel that the scent lasts all that long, and often need to reapply when I am out. The smell actually only appears to last for a couple of hours.
Although I wear this perfume a lot, I have only once been asked what I am wearing. Only one friend commented that she liked it which is slightly disappointing, as I like it a lot. Also, when I have sprayed it in shops with friends, they don't really like it that much saying that it is too sweet.
Although personally I really like this sweet perfume, it does not seem to get the same response from others.

~~~Anna Sui Fragrances~~~
The Anna Sui fragrance collection includes Dolly Girl, Flight of Fancy, Secret Wish, Sui Love, Live Your Dream and Sui Dreams.
Dreams is said to be about a fairy tale where your dreams can come true. Dreams is known as a floral-fruit scent which is given a distinctive musk to set it apart from other scents. It can be bought in an eau de toilette and the matching body lotion is available.
Regardless of which size of Dreams you purchase, the effect is the same. The bottle is shaped very much like a handbag. The bottom half is made of clear but frosted glass confidently showing off the blue tinted liquid inside. The top half acts as a lid and is shaped like a bag handle - silver and imprinted with Anna Sui. Flower symbols run from the top of the lid down the full bottle.
Dreams has been created using 3 sets of fragrance notes which seperate themselves into stages and develop on the skin.
*Top notes offer the initial scent and are shortlived - here we experience a fresh, fruity combination of bergamot, nectarine, orange and mandarin
*Heart notes create the body of the scent lasting several hours - a twist of chinese peony, peach, rose and freesia create this scents heart
*Base notes are the final offering - Dreams offfers musk, sandalwood, Tahitan vanilla, anise and nutmeg.
~~~Availability and Price~~~
Dreams isn't readily available. It can be purchased on certain websites at the following prices:
www.fragrancedirect.co.uk has a set for sale which includes a 30ml EDT, a 50ml body lotion and a bag priced at £19.99. Alternatively a 30ml bottle can be bought from www.escentual.com for £24.00.
When I met my fiance, I took on the task of trying to get his Mum to like me. We didn't get off to a good start so on her birthday, I decided to get her something nice and my choice as Anna Sui Dreams EDT. I remember it not suiting her older skin but I liked it on myself. Last year, I purchased a large lot of miniature perfumes on ebay..this was one of them and it brought back memories so it was quickly added to my growing collection.
The bottle is certainly unusual but attractive. The lid is a little cheap looking but the blue perfume adds a pleasant appearance. The shape would be aimed at a younger female as its quite immature with little class. Personally I cannot remember why I chose this for a lady who was nearing 50! My bottle is dab style so doesn't incorporate a spray top. On sniffing the perfume through the bottle, it comes across cheap but chic..a bit like those knock off perfumes you see being sold at markets!
~~~Interpreting My Dreams~~~
Dabbing a little onto my wrist and neck, the cheap impression is shortlived. Firstly, a wave of fresh floralness greets me quickly fading away to reveal a succulent citrus aroma. There is enough of each note to be distinctly pinpointed without being overpowering or heady. With a set of top notes which include all orange type notes and a wave of airyness from the bergamot, you would expect a really sharp sweetness. And you would be right..all most. The nectarine, orange and mandarin come into play with a sharp, edginess settling down to reveal a soft, exotic aroma. The bergamot was a smart addition to add a light trance to the top notes.
Serving up a heart some hour or so after applying, the lightness is still evident but perhaps not as strongly. The scent that inflicts its aroma on my skin is a modern, girly take on flowery hearts. A soft rose and freesia presents itself joined with a smooth, gentle peach offering a sweetness to avoid this being too mature for me. It is quite addictive and although not overly strong, its noticeable enough to be appreciated for 3-4hours.
All things light and airy come to an end as Dreams settles down on my skin to reveal a rather deep, precious aroma. There is alot going on here but every note has its place and everything is co-ordinated for a beautifully presented base. There is a bit of sweetness granted by the vanilla and this is comforted by a spicy edge from the anise. There is a creamy tone running through it which is appreciated and also a slight woody, musk undertone adding something extra and taking a bit of the sweetness away. It is close to the skin offer waves of sweetness if I move around a lot. You could say it is rather dreamy and stays put for another 2hours.
~~~Suitability and Conclusion~~~
Dreams comes across as being girly and fresh and is therefor more suited to the younger generation. Its lightness would be ideal for day time use during the hotter weather. I love this perfume, it is clean cut and offers a pleasant variation of notes. Every note has been well thought out before going into the scent and it all works well to create a scent that suits my fairly young skin. It lasts well at an acceptable strength but it doesn't make my dreams come true..only my son is that special!
The gift set is priced well but shop around as you may pick up a bargain on Anna Sui Dreams. It comes with my recommendation.
Thanks for reading :)
I received Anna Sui Dreams in a gift box of perfumes a few years ago. My first impressions were good; it had an unusual bottle which I think looked very retro and different to any other perfume bottle I had seen before and I loved the bright blue colour of the perfume that you are able to see through the clear bottle.
The first time I tried Anna Sui Dreams I really disliked it. Its scent was far too heavy and sharp for my liking and it had a sickly sweet smell rather than a pleasant one. I tried it another couple of times and I can't say my impressions changed much; it actually gave me a headache if I smelt it as the aroma was so excessively overpowering.
If you were to wear this it would definitely be an evening fragrance as it is far too rich for day to day wear. I think maybe this is a fragrance for a slightly more mature woman rather than someone in their early 20's.
Overall, nice display piece to have on my bedside table because of the gorgeous bottle but unfortunately not such a gorgeous perfume
This was the first Anna Sui Perfume that I tried, and I ended up trying the brand quite late, only 6 months ago but the Perfumes are nice from this designer brand.
I got this in a 30ml bottle but think you can get this in a 50ml as well. Since I wasn't sure that I would like this and not keen to waste money then I got the smallest bottle which cost me £18. I had smelt a tester of this from a Perfume stall but it was just on 1 of the fragrance strips. It smelt nice on here, but how would it smell on your skin where any Perfume can change from being nice on someone else to smelling not so nice on yourself?
The bottle of this is nice. It is that bit different to other Perfume bottles out there. I don't totally love this bottle as it reminds me of a Handbag - which isn't a bad thing, but not really something you would associate with a Perfume. This looks like the Dooyoo picture. The glass part is a really nice Turquoise colour and not as bright as it looks on the picture. The silver handle part does look a bit cheap though and the spray part is in the middle of the bottle. To use this you just take off the handle part and you are left with the spray part.
So how does this smell? It is lovely. There is a lot of different notes mixed through this Perfume but they are all blended just right, and although you can make out certain notes, they are all that harsh. In here there is Vanilla, Sandalwood, Orange, and seems to be white and perhaps pink florals. Everythnig is just a dash of the scent, and there is a sparkling tone mixed through as well.
Although this is quite a delicate and light scent it does last a good lenght of time. After I would say 5 hours I can still smell some of this, although it is a lot fainter, but just a tinge is still there.
A nice, refreshing Perfume that i'm sure a lot of people would like.
Around this time last year Mark came in from work with a present for me, not from him (he's not the romantic present-buying-for-the-sake-of-it kinda guy) but from one of his customers that I'd helped out. It was nothing really, but apparently I did get them out of the proverbial and as a thank you they sent me a bottle of champers and a gift set consisting of six different Anna Sui perfume miniatures. The thing I was most pleased about was the fact that they came in the original bottle shape (ie. gorgeous) only were much smaller, even if the perfumes had been awful (which they're not!) the cute bottles look fab in my perfume bottle collection.
Of all of them, Sui Dreams is my absolute favourite in terms of both fragrance and bottle design. First things first, the bottle. It's handbag shaped and absolutely gorgeous. I loved the miniature so much that I ended up asking Father Christmas for a full sized bottle, a couple of weeks later and was very surprised when I received it (Santa tends to ignore most of my requests). The presser for the spray (oooh, aren't I technical!) was a bit awkward when I was using the miniature as it's located underneath the 'handle' of the handbag, but it's much easier to slide my finger in for a good spray on the larger sized bottle. Luckily it's a smooth spray action as the bulk of the short, squat bottle doesn't make it the most stable perfume bottle to hold and direct! Still, it looks amazing so I can overlook the awkwardness.
The perfume is gorgeous. It's a very light and feminine fragrance which I think is perfectly suited to daytime wear, you could wear it at night but personally I don't think it's strong enough and wouldn't be able to compete with other perfumes and scents in a pub or restaurant.
When first sprayed Sui Dreams has a delicious fruity and citrus fragrance, it's quite heavy at first but this settles down within a few minutes and allows a zesty orange perfume to come through. This makes the perfume instantly refreshing and means it is much lighter than any of the other Anna Sui perfumes in my gift set. The citrus fragrance is joined by a more floral perfume after a while, a very short while actually and I'd prefer the stunning orange fragrance to last for a wee while longer.
The floral fragrance is nice though, a good mixture of different flowery notes which are blended together to create a bouquet where you can actually tell what each flower scent is supposed to be. There's definitely rose in there, and also other English garden fragrances which not only help to keep the perfume light but also ensure Sui Dreams remains as feminine as possible. It has quite a sophisticated fragrance while the floral tones are coming through and I think this makes it completely suitable for girls and women of any age, although I'd say the ideal age for wearing this type of fragrance is from mid-twenties upwards.
When the floral notes begin to die out you'll find you're left with a sweet, musky fragrance. The smell of vanilla comes through quite strongly, but this is toned down by the sexy tones of sandalwood and cedar which take off some of the candied sweetness. I'm glad of this as it helps the actual fragrance of the vanilla to come through in the perfume, and it's this which lingers the longest together with certain tones from the perfume's floral period.
Sui Dreams doesn't last long, I'd guesstimate I get around four hours from a good spray of perfume. This is due to the lightness of the perfume, and also the fact that sweet vanilla fragrances never tend to last very long. I don't mind repeated sprayings as I spend most of my time at home, but the bottle is a bit bulky for carrying around in your handbag just in case you need to top the perfume up while you're at work.
£20.70 (50ml bottle) from Debenhams.
This is a really lovely perfume and great for every day. It has a light scent that isn't too overpowering and has a sweet but not 'sickly' smell. The price is really reasonable too and it's available in several size bottles to suit different budgets. It seems to last forever as well without going off.
I would say that this is quite a 'girly' perfume, however, I've been wearing this perfume for many years now and find that it complements me still. It would make a great starter scent for maybe an older teenager who has just started to wear perfume, particularly as it is not too expensive and you can buy accompning products to complement it.
The only downside to this perfume is that as the scent is quite light, it does seem to wear off after a while and I usually find that I need to reapply it later in the day.
Overall, a great perfume at a very reasonable price. I'd definately recommend this.
Relatively nondescript. White fading in to blue at the bottom, thin cardboard, square and quite frankly, does what ti says on the tin! What the advantage? Squares are much easier to wrap then more inventive shapes when it comes to giving it as a gift! Disadvantage? I do no think this is hugely eye catching so if you don't know what a lovely smell it is, you might not pick it up to try it.
So pretty. Looks like a little handbag. There is a silver handle with a lattice of flowers folding around it and winding their way down to the glass bottle itself. This is plastic but gives the illusion of cast iron without the metal price tag. The bottle is translucent, so you can see the delicate blue perfume, very handy so you know when to replace it. I generally go for the 50ml bottle - the bottle itself is not very heavy, it stands at 9sm in height and about 7cm in width. I tend to carry mine in my handbag, it does not weigh me down and its always handy to smell good!
The scent and how long it lasts:
Not for the whole day. It lasts a good few hours. The scent is still 'there' if you press your wrist (if you squirted it there!) to your nose. But you could not 'waft' it and allow someone to smell it. The smell itself is really sophisticated, delicate and i adore it. Ive been wearing ti for about 7 years now and I make sure I never run out! The scent is not sickly sweet, in my opinion, really sweet scents suit the younger teenager better. I am 28 and feel this scent complainers me and my personality, delicate with a hint of fruit, lashing of sophistication with a cheeky undertone, without being over powering!
Totally reasonable, It's normally around £20 but it often on offer at places such as Boots. In all honesty, I would pay more for this perfume if it went up in price. Therefore its even more of a bonus that its total affordable and well worth the price
Where to wear it:
This perfume, for me, is for everyday use. Its subtle and not at all 'in your face' so its ideal to wear to the office and then top upfor the after work drinks.
My overall rating:
I adore this scent so I will awarded it 5 out of 5 dooyoo pints. The only (small) drawback is that the scent does not last more than a handful of hours. Advantages, the lovely smell, the very reasonable price, the cute bottle, the light weight bottle and the package as a whole.
I first got this perfume for my Christmas as a gift and I had never smelt it before so I was intrigued to open it and see what the scent was like and instantly I loved it. I am unsure what price was payed for it but upon looking on the internet its seems to cost around £22 - £35 depending on what size of bottle you buy.
The bottle which it comes in is shaped like a hand bag and the handle part of it is silver and this is where the scent is released by pressing the button which is in the middle. The lower part of the bottle is where the perfume itself is kept and it seems to have a light frosted glass appearance and is light blue. Also there is an oriental style floral design which goes up either side of the bottle.
The fragrance is very oriental with lovely combinations of tangerine and vanilla without it being to strong and over powering. There is also hints of chinese peony and sandalwood freesia which help to give it the fresh and yet delicate sweet aroma which you smell when sprayed. Sometimes when a perfume is first sprayed it can be very strong and then settle but with this sui dreams from the moment it is sprayed I think it smells beautiful and very feminine and lasts for a few hours before a top up spray is required. I great fragrance and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes sweet and quite fruity smells or to any man or woman out there who is looking for a nice perfume to buy there partner.
This is my second favourite fragrence ever.
I must say my initial attraction to this perfume was the bottle - as i am a huge fan of bags. However i have now been buying this for a good 5 years now.
The fragrence is light and sweet, but i dont think its too sickly. Nor do i think it smells too child-like which i tend to think some of the sweeter smelling fragrences do.
The perfume bottle is lovely, with the perfume itself being an blue colour.
I have for the last few years bought the gift set with this perfum where you get the shower gel and the body lotion. I love both of these, as the fragrence left once you have used them is not too overpowering.
Would recommend this perfume as an ideal perfume for spring and summer time, and a brilliant present as i think most people would like this.
If you have read previous reviews of mine, you will be aware that I am a huge fan of fragrance, and have tried out many different ones. I'm always attracted to the bottles of the Anna Sui range, so I decided to try out Dreams, a fragrance which I had never tried out before.
The bottle is very cute, and it is shaped like a handbag, as you can see in the image above. The fragrance itself is blue, and it looks very pretty, and is perfect for teenage girls or younger adults as it is a rather youthful bottle. A swirly pattern is imprinted upon the bottle to add to its intricacy. To get the fragrance out of the bottle, you simply have to push down on the button which is in between the handle and the bag. The packaging in which it comes in is fairly plain, but very cute.
After being initially attracted by the bottle, I decided to have a spray of the perfume whilst on a shopping trip. The scent is very original, and perhaps something I would not normally have chosen. The heart notes consist of freesia, peach, chinese peony and rose. The top notes consist of nectarine, mandarin, bergamot and bitter orange. Finally, the base notes consist of nutmeg, sandalwood, musk, tahitian vanilla, cedar and anise. As you can see, this is quite a unique scent, and in more simple terms, it is basically a fresh, feminine scent. It has a strong smell of citrus mixed with vanilla, with an oriental twist to it. Would definately recommend the scent if you are after something a bit different. The scent is perfect for day time or night time wear, and is generally an all round scent.
After trying Anna Sui's 'Secret Wish', I wasn't particularly impressed with its staying power, therefore meaning I didn't have great expectations for this perfume. However, I was proven very wrong, and for such an affordable perfume, this has a fairly good staying power. Obviously, it does not linger on your skin all day, but I only had to spray it again once or twice throughout the day, meaning that the fragrance will last you much longer, so thumbs up for staying power.
It is available to buy from a number of different places. These include drugstores such as Boots and Superdrug, department stores such as Debenhams and House of Fraser, perfume stores such as The Perfume Shop, and it is also sold on a number of websites online where you may be able to get a slight discount.
Anna Sui's fragrances are very affordable, and Dreams ranges from around the £23 mark up to around £32, which is a great price for treating yourself or buying somebody a gift.
As far as I am aware, this bottle is available in 30ml and 50ml. The 30ml bottle is £23 and the 50ml bottle is £32. I would recommend shopping around before you buy though, because this perfume is often on offer, and if you look online you will find them discounted. Also look out for gift sets because you might be able to pick yourself up a freebie body lotion.
Overall, I am going to give this perfume four stars because it has a lovely, unique scent and is stored in such a lovely bottle. Staying power is fairly good, however could be a little better. Thanks for reading.
