      Advantages

      Disadvantages

For those how like a bit of toughness with their sweetness

(I know I've wrote loads of fragrance reviews this week - [A] I've been sorting through my collection, weeding out the ones I really use and making notes, so I'm reviewing them while everything is still fresh in my mind and [B] I'm working through my accepted product suggestions.)

      Friendly warning
      - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The name may mis-lead you; CHOCOLOVERS does not mimic chocolate. It uses some of the most widely-used ingredients that are used in chocolate, but never claimed that the result was the same scent as chocolate.

      The fragrance

Chocolovers is the darker, sexier, naughty but nice sister of the cult fragrance Pink Sugar. Sort of like Dannii Minogue to Kylie Minogue if you will.

Not as sweet as Pink Sugar, when first applied I got the rich aroma of the lemon and orange, combined with coriander, preventing it from being zesty. I could also smell roasted nuts.

After a few hours the vanilla base comes through and mingles with the hazelnut, with the result being a work colleague commenting on the smell of my hot chocolate (no I didn't' have any).

      Scent notes

Orange, hazelnut, coriander, musk, vanilla, lily-of-the-valley, bergamot and lemon.

      The bottle

It has the same basic, clear glass bottle, with a motif printed on it. This time it's brown/red hearts. Rather cheap and tacky, but at least the bottle is easy to grip and spray.

      Other buying considerations

I'm impressed by the staying power; I can still smell it it on my clothes at the end of an average working day.

I use it for casual use, work and evening wear, but some people don't think it's 'serious' enough for work. Maybe pass on it if you work closely with the public.

I also wear it all year round - it's warming and comforting in colder weather, yet is non-cloying in warmer weather.

      My opinion

This is in my top five favourites; It's girlie, but has a darker edge to it. I don't feel like a sheep, as I've never smelt it on anyone else and I always recieve compliments on it :)

Chocolovers is available in 50ml and 100ml bottles. Aquolina products aren't sold instore in the UK, so you'll have have to order online.

It has sadly been discontinued, but it is still available through some sites, such as Amazon UK and US [I've bought several perfumes - including this - through Amazon US and haven't experienced any problems with delivery or hidden charges].
