I have quite a collection of perfumes and tried the Armand Basi in Red on holiday. I fell in love with the rich fragrance and bought a 50 ml eau de parfum bottle. I've had Armand Basi perfumes before and used to love wearing 'lovely blossom.' *Price and availability* I paid around $35.00 for my 50ml eau de parfum bottle. I've just checked cheapsmells.com and they have it for £20.99 so I feel a bit cheated getting mine abroad. The 100ml is priced at £27.99. The Eau de toilette 50 ml = £17.35 and the 100ml is priced at £22.99. *Visual Description* The bottle is a rectangle and is made from thick glass; making it look rather like an ice cube. This image is contradicted by the thick red label with the brand name on. The hot red of the label is an applicable colour when describing the scent of the perfume, coupled with this, at the back of the bottle behind the red square is an image of a budding branch. This denotes the wooded floral feel to the perfume. *The fragrance* The colour of the perfume is quite pale and some would describe it as clear. Alberto Morillas de Firmenich is the creator behind the scent. He has a very reputable history and think that once again he has made a very impactive perfume. The aroma of the perfume is light at first, fresh and crisp and full of citrus notes. These sparkling notes give way to pretty delicate floral scents such as rose, lily of the valley, jasmine and violet leaves. The floral scents that form the main body of the perfume are given an extra kick by the scent of ginger; adding a subtle jolt of spice. The perfume has depth that is given by the rich wooded notes and white musk. *They say...* Armand Basi in Red addresses the woman of today, self-confident, who affirms her own personality and is capable of expressing her feelings and emotions, a woman who is tender and spontaneous, full of passion and strength. *I think...* I like the perfume, it is bright and light and the deep musky ginger undertone keeps the perfume crisp and different. I really enjoy wearing the perfume and on a warm day it accompanies the sun shine very well. The perfume lasts well. As a day time perfume and because it is quite light it is not over powering. I would not recommend this perfume for evening wear as I do not think that it is impactive enough. It is rather understated. For this reason though, there is the potential to put more on! The fragrance doesn't seem to last that long on my skin and after 4 hours or so I am ready to apply it again. But you only need a small burst to reignite the fragrance and smell delicious again. *The brand* Armand Basi is a Spanish fashion designer label. The first store in London was opened in 1995 and since then they created fabulous perfume ranges for men and women. *Overall* You can pick this perfume up at a very decent price so I would recommend you to try it. It is fresh and rich and could be your perfect companion for summer!
