Near to the beginning of July I entered Debenhams department store with a long list of items to buy. Mainly I was looking for birthday gifts as July is the busiest month of the year for my family's birthdays. As July was an extremely busy time for me anyway, with various events including talent competitions and shows (My daughter-certainly not me!) and a wedding, I wanted to purchase as much as possible in one go. I was delighted, on this occasion, to have only just walked a few metres into the store when I was attracted to a display of reduced perfumes and toiletries. Most of these also had testers.
I noticed a fragrance I'd never heard of, 'Lovely Blossom' by Armand Basi. I tested this and thought it to be a very pretty and feminine scent, which I thought my sister in law would appreciate. Also she has always liked pink, which is the colour of the bottle. I looked at the attractive box, which is white and shows pink flowers. The price on the box was twelve pounds reduced from thirty five! My husband was with me and he thought the perfume smelled nice and suggested that I should get one for myself too, which I was considering anyway. Nice to have his approval though! So I purchased two boxes, which were both wrapped in cellophane, and I also managed to find a small make up set to finish the gift.
When, at home, I opened the box and was surprised and impressed with the bottle. It really is lovely. In the store the tester bottle didn't have a lid and this item is what really makes the bottle special and such a lovely gift. The glass lid is designed with tiny deep pink flowers and looks lovely on a dressing table or cupboard top.
I sprayed the fragrance on and have worn it out a couple of times. I am wearing it now whilst writing this. I would say on first spraying it has a strong perfume with one note more evident than others and this may be the apricot but I'm not sure. After about half an hour of wearing the smell becomes more subtle and even and at it's best. I would say it is a very pretty and light scent, ideal for most occassions but I would choose to wear it mainly as a daytime perfume, particularly in the summer months. The one thing I would warn about though is, as this is light and subtle, it does need topping up. And on saying that, although the bottle is gorgeous, it isn't the ideal shape to carry around in a small handbag, as the lid is quite big. Most of my bags aren't small though so not too much of a problem for me.
As I mentioned earlier, I purchased this for only £12 but I've seen it for sale on line for varied prices, ranging from £14.99 to £30.00. It is easy to find though and I wouldn't pay more than fifteen. It does look and smell like a more expensive scent.

As I hadn't heard of Armand Basi before I did a little research and found that the background of this family company began in Barcelona, Spain, in the 1940s, with clothes design, mainly knitwear using Scottish wool. It was a small company making quality clothes.
In 1958 Armand and Joseph Basi ran the company. The sucess of this company grew.
Now, Armand Basi sells in 20 countries worldwide and is growing.
In 1995, the first Armand Basi store was opened in London and in 2001 a store was opened in Birmingham.
In 1999, Armand Basi began to launch it's fragrance range, begining with Armand Basi Hombre and Armand Basi Mujer.
