50s sophistication for the modern woman (Avon: 50's Glam, Eau de Toilette)
Member Name: cathsockhead
Advantages: Delicious, lasts all day Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit overpowering for daytime wear
Avon describes this fragrance as 'A romantic bouquet of blushed florals, voluptuous fruits and fresh, green sophistication'. I can't say I would have chosen it based on that description! However, Avon's delightful smelly pages captivated me! I was enchanted by the heady delights of this fragrance on the page, and it is even better in (on?!) the flesh! The 'florals' are mainly lily of the valley, which my mother informs me was very popular in the 50s. The 'fruits' aren't particularly evident to me, but are perhaps citrusy. The 'fresh, green sophistication' is provided by what I can only describe as a leafy undertone, which cools the headiness of the lily of the valley. This all makes for a deliciously feminine fragrance - glamorous and sexy. The '50s' label may put off younger ladies, but I'm 25, and I don't find it at all old-fashioned or grannyesque. Summary: A deliciously feminine fragrance - feminine and sexy |
