Advantages: Lovely smell, versatile, great bottle

Disadvantages: Fragrance doesn't last that long

This perfume was released by Avon at the same time as the release of the new Bond film Quantum of Solace, last year. I noticed it in the Avon catalogue around Christmas time but decided not to buy it as I needed all my money for everyone's presents! But in Jan I decided to order a bottle. I was advised by my Avon rep that I might as well but it in a promotion pack which was £17.50 for the 50ml bottle perfume, a 'pro-to-go' lipstick, and a compact mirror, all in a black make-up bag. The perfume itself sells for £16 so I thought this was a really good deal.

The Bottle...

I was really impressed by the gorgeous bottle it came in. It is a clear glass shaped bottle, in a shape almost reminiscent of a female body with a curve in the middle like a waist. It has a metal tiered lid with "bond Girl 007" engraved into the bottom section. I have called it a lid but really there isn't any actual lid which can be removed, instead the bit you spray out of has a silver metal hoop above it which prevents the perfume from spraying out if you were to carry it in your bag.

Apparently the cap is styled to look gadgety and therefore matches the bond theme. Despite the metal hoop it is still easy to spray the perfume out. For a cheap-ish perfume the packaging is really innovative and expensive looking. The bottle holds 50ml of the perfume and as far as I know this is the only bottle size for the perfume.

The Perfume...

The perfume is a peachy-orange colour which shows through the clear bottle. I think it is a lovely colour, which with the packaging looks very extravagant. When you spray the perfume out a generous amount comes out, so you only need one or two sprays when using it.

The scent is described as: "A sexy cocktail of velvety florals, cool freshness and warm woods" which sounded really appealing. I've looked into it further and discovered that it uses top notes of white peach and orange blossom, on top of mod-notes of jasmine, calypso orchid and freesia. And the final scent is made up of amber and cashmere wood.

The smell is as described, it smells quite floral and fresh to begin with but when it dries the woody undertones start to come out. It sounds like a slightly weird combination but I think it works really well. I also like it because it is different to any other perfume I have. I tend to own either really fruity or floral scents for the day, and very musky scents for at night. However this is a mix of the two, which I found really interesting and different to any I have worn before. The scent never takes on a sweet smell, so it never smells particularly sickly.

The perfume smells quite strong when you first spray it on but when it dries it is actually quite subtle and not overpowering at all. When I have used it the smell usually lasts about a couple of hours before it wears off. It doesn't last as long as more expensive designer perfumes but for the price I found it acceptable. I think it is likely that I may use the 50ml bottle quite quickly as usually when I wear it I do end up spraying more on the same day. But for the price I think it is still good value for money.

It is hard to define for what times I think it would be suitable. Because it has a hint of floral and musky scent I think it is suitable for wearing during the day or night. Therefore you can get maximum use out of it.

Overall Opinion...

I would highly recommend this versatile perfume, particularly if you fancy a cheaper perfume than the designer brands. Because of it's mixed fragrance I think it would be liked by most people and is suitable for any time of day. I think the packaging and the smell are as good as perfumes which are twice the price, I admit that it doesn't last as long as designer brands but for the price I still think it is really good value for money.

Sounds lovely, wish they would do samples though as can't sniff first!
