Advantages: Smells fantastic, nice summery bottle

Disadvantages: Discontinued

I received Far Away Dreams perfume as a gift earlier this year, but up until now I haven't got around to using it.
It is a perfume by Avon that was released off the back off their classic Far Away perfume, which has been going since 1994.
To be honest, I have never had a bottle of the original Far Away perfume. I have sampled it in the past, but cannot remember what it smelled like.

~ Price and availability ~
Typically of Avon products, when a range is reduced off the back of another perfume, it is only for a limited period of time. It seems that this perfume is no longer available from Avon and they are currently promoting a new Far Away perfume called Far Away Exotic.
The usual price for Far Away Dreams would have been £13, but Avon usually have a perfume offer on, at the minute it is 2 for £13.
Far Away Dreams can still be found on ebay, where it sells for around £6.50.

~ Packaging ~
The perfume comes in a red/ peach coloured box, which fades into an orange/peach colour and then into a light yellow colour. The words 'Far Away Dreams' are at the top of the box with a faded picture of a yingyang with a tassle hanging from it. It is a fairly simply designed box. It is very summery and I like the colour.

~ Bottle ~
Far Away Dreams comes in a similar bottle to the Far Away bottle. It is only available in 50ml bottles. It is a round flattish bottle with a sort of yingyang shape which makes the top half of the bottle stick out a little bit more than the bottom. The bottle is made from a frosted glass. There is a lemon yellow coloured tassle around the neck of the bottle and it has a spherical lid, which is yellow on the bottom and a pearly white colour on the top with a way pattern going right around.
I really like the bottle of the perfume. It is nice and summery and gives the impression that the fragrance will be clean and fresh. I like the lemon coloured tassle, which is a nice touch and the lid adds to the design of the bottle as well.

~ Scent ~
The scent is fresh and summery and it reminds me of holidays, far away holidays, you could say. It is a light fragrance, but I have found it to be long lasting.
The fragrance is described as an oriental floral scent. It offers top notes of pineapple, peach, mango and coconut, heart notes of gardenia and rose and base notes of amber, sandalwood and vanilla.
I think this fragrance has subtle fruity and floral tones, but I think it is best described as crisp, fresh and clean (but not soapy).
I think this perfume would suit younger women in their 20's, 30's and even teenagers as I associate lighter, refreshing fragrances more with a younger age range.
I would say this is more of a daytime scent, rather than one for special occasions.

~ Overall ~
Overall, I have found this perfume to be really light and refreshing with floral and fruity tones. I really love this scent. It is really summery and uplifting.
I find it disappointing that this has been discontinued. I don't rate many of Avon's perfumes as highly as I rate this one and Avon's website shows that this perfume was rated on average 4.5 out of 5 stars by other customers.

Summary: 5 star, but gone!
