“ Brand: Avon / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Parfum / Gender: for women „
I was bought Fergie Outspoken Intense as a gift a few months ago when I was searching for some new perfumes to try. Available from Avon on a variety of offers in each campaign brochure, you can expect to pay around the £10 mark for a 50ml bottle.
This perfume is not to be confused with a similar variety from the same brand which is named Fergie Outspoken.
** Packaging **
The perfume is packaged in a pretty silver bottle which carries a nice design pleasing on the eye. The bottle is similar to a pear shape with a pretty clear lid that is large compared to the neck of the bottle and takes on a pretty diamond shape.
The nozzle of the bottle is quite small compared to the neck of the bottle and occasionally I have found the design to be clumsy when holding the bottle at the neck rather than the base of the bottle when trying to spray the fragrance.
As the perfume gets used, the nice thing about this bottle is that you can see the line of remaining perfume. The bottle isn't completely transparent but takes on a nice comparison in shades of silver.
** Fragrance **
Outspoken intense is marketed as having a starfruit and passion flower scent warmed by a musk base.
On first impressions, the scent is quite sweet but not overpoweringly so. There is a hint of musk that comes through, but I didn't find this lasted long or was too strong as I'm not a fan of musk in perfumes.
I didn't find the scent to be too feminine like some very sickly sweet fragrances can be. As with many scents this one takes on a slightly different scent when first applied to the scent after it has settled on your skin.
I prefer this perfume when it has had a chance to settle down when I find it is takes on a subtle fragrance that doesn't appear to be too strong. I prefer this to be a day time perfume due to the subtleness of the scent.
** Staying Power **
Some perfumes will last all day and others I find that I cannot smell them at all after a couple of hours. Outspoken Intense doesn't last all day, but I can still smell it after quite a while. I don't feel it's a perfume you have to douse yourself in to get good staying power. A little does go a long way with this fragrance.
The bottle itself has the potential to last quite a few months as you really only need a couple of squirts to appreciate the fragrance.
** Overall **
For the money you will spend on this perfume, I think it's worth the money and does make a nice gift. Whilst it's not as strong as other perfumes on the market, I don't think you always need a strong fragrance to create an impression.
The nice thing about this perfume and buying direct from Avon is that you will always be able to find this on some sort of offer.
Outspoken Intense by Fergie is a perfume I received as a gift not long after receiving the original Outspoken by Fergie perfume.
The perfume was released in early 2011.
It is available from Avon and can either be ordered from the Avon brochure through your local Avon representative or it can be ordered online at www.avonshop.co.uk.
I don't usually like to use celebrity perfumes as, to me, they have a cheap image, reminding me of desperate fans who worship and go crazy over certain celebrities.
Fergie (or Stacey Ann Ferguson) is the female American singer from Black Eyed Peas who topped the UK charts back in 2003 with their debut single, Where Is The Love? and have had numerous subsequent hits.
~ Appearance ~
The bottle is made from glass with 'Outspoken INTENSE by Fergie' on the front in black lettering. The bottle itself is a silver colour, but it is semi-transparent so you can see how much of the perfume that you have left.
(The dark blue bottle, pictured is actually the first fragrance, Outspoken and this, the second fragrance Outspoken Intense comes in a similar bottle, which is silver in colour).
The bottle is very wide at the bottom, but it then tapers on either side up to the spray button on the top.
A clear plastic lid sits on the top. This is angular shaped, reflecting the light like a diamond or precious gem stone.
The scent is fruity and floral.
It combines notes of star fruit, kumquat, blackberries, passion flower and sensual musk.
It is a light, fruity scent with a slight floral element and I really it.
It is a feminine fragrance. I like the combination of sweet fruitiness and the floral scent, which gives the perfume a slight sharpness, without being too harsh. The notes make and interesting combination.
It is a light fragrance, but I don't think it is as light as the original, Outspoken fragrance.
This fragrance, Outspoken Intense, is quite warming.
It is quite a versatile scent and I think it would appeal to women of all ages. It is not sickly sweet or a heavy floral scent and I don't think many people would find it offensive.
I tend to wear this as a day time perfume rather than for nights out or special occasions, but I would consider wearing it on a night out.
I have found this perfume to have rather good staying power lasting a full 12 hours after application.
I am pretty pleased with this perfume. I like the combination of notes used in it.
~ Conclusion ~
Overall, I think this is a great perfume. The bottle is rather nice and the perfume is lovely. It is feminine, fresh and fruity with a light floral element, which adds warmth and depth to the perfume.
It isn't my favourite perfume, but I would consider repurchasing this perfume after mine runs out, even though I am not a big fan of celebrity perfumes.
I would recommend this perfume for yourself or as a gift.
I am very fussy about my perfumes as most give me a headache really quickly. I generally stick to a couple of favourites and do not usually experiment with new scents.
However, I was offered this as a special offer from my local Avon representative for £10 and it came with the handbag size bottle as well. I figured for that price my daughter could have it if I didn't like it.
Thankfully though I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous it smells and the fact it didn't even give me a hint of a headache. It has a kind of musky scent which is incredibly feminine and sexy and I always now have the small bottle in whichever bag I happen to be using at the time. My teenage daughter does "borrow" it every now and then so can also say it seems to appeal to different ages.
The bottle is very attractive so it makes for a lovely present as well as a decently priced self-indulgence. I can't remember the last time I tried a perfume that I liked enough to recommend it but I have been telling everyone about this one and the fact that it can be found on offer now and then just makes it even better.
I bought a few vials of this scent from eBay. They were 2.5ml each, just the perfect size for my handbag.
The perfume is what I would describe as a striking female scent. It's very different from the usual celebrity scents, mainly because this one is far more mature. The perfume comes presented in an attractive looking bottle and the size of the perfume is 50ml. My mum has the bottle and says that the lid falls off a lot and doesn't actually stay on the bottle, which is a shame. The bottle looks nice though and it isn't too heavy.
The main note of the perfume is Iced Berries which deliver a "winter" feel to the scent. It's definitely not a light scent, this scent is suited to evening wear and would be great for parties. It's a scent that people pick up easily - I've had lots of compliments when wearing this. The scent sprays well and initially you can detect the warming floral/ exotic notes. As the perfume settles it feels even more warming, maybe this is down to the Black Pepper? Pepper is a warming ingredient and Fergie has included it in her scent. I like this warming feel to the scent as most scents that I wear are too light for my liking.
The staying power of the scent is good. It lasts for a good few hours before needing a top up. The scent is a more mature scent that I think would suit women aged 25 plus. It depends on the wearer though.
The scent isn't as light and fresh as previous celebrity scents that I have bought but I like this scent as it is unique and different from the norm, in a good way.
Fergie Outspoken is one of my favourite perfumes at the moment. Avon really does have some lovely products and this is no exception. Avon has a large range of perfumes and sometimes it can be a little daunting trying to decide on which one to go for. Luckily at the time of choosing this perfume my Avon book had the choice to rub your wrist on the page in order to get an idea of what the perfume would smell like.
I brought this perfume for everyday wear around the office. It retails at £15 a bottle but as it was newly released when I brought it I got it for the bargain interductory price of £8.00. I would be loathed to pay £15 for the perfume as it didn't last me very long, but I would happily receive it as a gift. I applied the perfume every other day (about two squirts) and the bottle only lasted me for about 3 weeks to a month, I was quiet disappointed with this as I would of liked it to last a little longer but it may have just been my fault as I really liked it.
The perfume came in a little cardboard box in silver, nothing special. The bottle of perfume came in a lovely dark purple glass bottle, with a clear plastic lid. The bottle is quite heavy for its size and is an odd shape. However its dark purple almost black coloured bottle does make it stand out amongst my other perfume bottles.
The smell is a nice soft scent that doesn't overpower you. I also found that if I put the perfume on in the morning I could still smell it on myself by the end of the day. My colleagues and even a few patients asked me what perfume I was wearing and all were shocked when I told them what it was. I don't think people really link a soft subtle perfume with a rockstar.
Overall I was pleased with the perfume as Avon always is a game of chance as you don't get to have a good sniff of the product before you purchase. It didn't last as long as I hoped but then I did wear it quite a lot as it really did have a lovely scent that appealed to me. I would want to pay £15 for a bottle of this perfume but I would recommend it if it was on offer. So keep your eyes peeled.
I have always been loyal to certain brands and types of perfume until a friend of mine asked me to try this new one from Avon. I was sceptical at first as I know perfumes can change from person to person but I can honestly say this is a fragrance I fell in love with immediately. I love the fruity undertones and the flowery scents but with the musky background scent, which is not too strong or overpowering as to feel like an "Old" smelling perfume, it feels like a perfume you can wear for any occasion. I have had it commented on by people and I now have a few friends who also use it after trying mine. I only use one other perfume now than this one and it's only when I run out of this one! A must for all ladies who want to feel like they have an expensive perfume smell for a lower price. Lasts long and keeps smelling as first intended, no bad after smell or change in the scent over time.
