===Why I Bought This===
I am currently working my way through various Avon fragrances that I have not tried out before. This fragrance has been out before as a Limited Edition.
Avon is a long established direct selling network which used to sell just door-to-door but you can order directly from their website these days if you do not have a local representative handy.
Avon has 18 different brochures issued throughout the year - or their stock can be viewed online.
Avon Frosted Swirls - Frosted Berry.
Comes in long pale blue and white box with silver writing and sparkling stars.
15 mls and flammable - made in Poland.
Inside the box is a long round thin plastic tube with clar perfume inside.
It has a pale blue cheap plastic lid and is a spray bottle.
Has a blue and white label.
'Indulge in the pure decadence of juicy berries swirled with creamy vanilla.'
In the 'Frosted' range:
*Frosted Winter Bloom
In the 'Sassy Swirls' range:
£5 full price but I got mine on offer for £1. Currently not in the brochures.
Firstly I think the £5 price for such a cheap looking product is way out of line - but if it is on offer that is a little better.
The box is reasonably attractive but as soon as you take the tube out it feels really cheap and tacky.
It is quite small - being the size of a fat mascara tube.
I suppose it is convenient to carry in your pocket or bag and being plastic it would not shatter like glass.
As these were mostly on sale before Christmas, if bought on offer they make handy little gifts for younger girls.
The berry smell is what you would expect - just strong berries and I did not really notice any vanilla.
It is quite a pleasant seasonal sort of aroma - but having said that it fades really quickly and you would have to keep re-applying almost every hour.
Not a bad cheap gift for teenagers perhaps but personally I wouldn't bother. For the price it is better to buy other Avon perfumes when they are on offer - such as Infinite Moments or Far Away Exotic.
As with all fragrances it is a personal choice so it is a matter of trying it yourself - either have a sample or just try a bottle - you have a full money-back guarantee with Avon.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes - but only as a cheap stocking filler.
Another one of the Frosted Swirls Perfumes and my 2nd favourite scent in the range. I have tried all 3 of the Frosted Swirl ones as well as the original 3 that came out before these ones. I think that these ones are more Limited Edition over Christmas and I haven't checked to see if these are still in the book as I am still using some of the perfumes up.
These come in a 15ml bottle and the right price of these are £5 each but they were on offer more often than now and I got these for £2.50 each so I just had to try them when they were on such a good price.
The bottles that these are in are ok. They are slim plastic bottles and due to these being that bit smaller then they are easy to carry around if you want to pop this into your pocket to use on the go. I still just put mine in my bag but these are slim and lightweight. There is a wrap around label going around this tube/bottle and there is a clear bit at the back so you can see how much of this you have left as you can imagine being a smaller bottle then this goes down quite quickly.
The scent of this is nice. This isn't my favourite in the range but it is still a nice smell. You get the rich sweet scent of the Vanilla and this is still the main scent in here but the Berry part is easy to detect too and at least this breaks up the slightly sickly scent of the Vanilla - well I wouldn't say it is sickly, but you know Vanilla can be quite sweet, Musky and a bit heavy scented. The Berry scent is a nice fruity Blackberry type of scent and this is a sparkling fresh scent.
The scent of this lasts a good lenght of time as well, and after spraying this in the morning I can still smell this a little a few hours later so it has got good staying power.
A nice enough scent that I could see myself buying again in the future but I would probably reach for Frosted Vanilla before this one.
Frosted Swirls is a limited edition collection of Avon fragranced which are based around the Sassy Swirls Collection. The collection includes Frosted Vanilla, Frosted Winter Bloom and Frosted Berry. The scents can be used alone or mixed together to create individual scents.
Whilst Avon do not specify fragrance notes, Frosted Berry is carrying the a fruity scent to compliment the floral and woody scents within the collection. It is available in an eau de toilette.
The fragrance is presented within a long, plastic vial with a spray top lid. Frosted Berry carries a delicate blue and white design on the vial and the outer box.
Each EDT in the collection is available in a 15ml vial. They are priced at £5.00 and can be bought direct from www.avonshop.co.uk or through your Avon rep. They are currently available at £2.50.
I purchased each of the Frosted Swirls fragrances recently at a reduced price of £2.50. I love mixing and matching perfumes so was happy I could do this with these 3 scents. The packaging is quite cheap feeling but does the job and is perfect for placing into my handbag for emergency top ups.
I like strong fruity and sweet scents and was immediately taken by Frosted Berry. Spraying some onto my wrists and neck, the immediate scent is very strong and sharp. I love a berry scent and the sharpness makes me think of rather sour tasting berries such as raspberry and blackcurrant. It is an amazingly mouthwatering scent and I was disappointed when it changed to a more subtler scent but all good things come to an end!
Within a few minutes, the sharpness starts to fade and a light and juicy scent takes over. It is succulently sweet and very natural smelling. I would say the main note would be blackcurrant but there is undertones of blueberry and raspberry there which makes for pleasant sniffing! There is an element of freshness about the scent which gives a light, airy infusion and it is simply gorgeous. If worn alone, Frosted Berry lasts around an hour and a half which isn't very long at all.
~The Berries Take Over!~
I like Frosted Berry as a stand alone scent but it does benefit from having the other scents in the collection mixed with it. Using berry as a base and adding the vanilla scent, I would say the vanilla initially takes over before changing to a creamy, fruit scent. Adding some Winter Bloom, hints of floral are added but I wasn't as keen on this. It didn't seem as appealing as when I used the Winter Bloom as the base.
Frosted Berry creates the most delicious top note scent if sprayed onto the skin last (after vanilla and bloom). It creates a fruity, sweet opening and sets the tone for the rest of the scent which develops perfectly. This allows the scent to last a few hours before disappearing from the skin.
My second favourite scent in the Frosted Swirls collection and one which I would happily wear alone if the scent had been a bit stronger after the initial sharp burst. It is a modern, vibrant scent and the natural, juicy aroma adds to the appeal.
Overall a gorgeous scent alone and even better when blended with the others. Alone, it is ideal for day time wear but when adding to it, it can go from day time to night time with one spray. The bottles don't last long with regular use so I would only buy when on offer.
