The Product ~ 'Kihe ka ihu i ka 'ale {One who sneezes when the spray from the surf rises at the bow of the canoe {Said of one who braves danger with indifference'

This summery fragrance comes in a plastic container adorned with three images of a brown, pink and blue orchid. In lovely Lucida font the titled name boldly decorates the spritz. Although the contents are transparent, the scent looks blue due to the clever design of the blue information label on the reverse of the container. This 100ml vaporisateur has a lengthy 24 months shelf life.

As an eau de toilette, typically only 8% or less the strength of perfume, this light and airy fragrance is more suited to the summer season, but I love wearing it throughout the year. With its practical spritz nozzle, the spray comes out in sharp short blast. The product feels cold and rather less like a mist than a rather moist water jet upon impact on my skin. I now apply it around eight inches from my body to furnish a more misting effect.

I do find that the aroma is a little too strong on initial application. Although the top notes are supposed to encompass carambola, Star fruit, I feel the aroma is more on the level of hibiscus. After a very brief time, this soon takes a deeper musk bouquet with wonderful amber overtones; although the middle notes are reputed to contain hibiscus and orchid, I personally can't detect these aromas. Eventually the balm settles to a lovely and refreshing blend of mostly amber with undertones of woody notes with musk.

I love to spray this odouriser lightly on my neck, wrist and even my hair. By spraying into the air, and immediately walking underneath the cologne, I find the fine mist furnishes my hair with a faint aromatic essence. I will say though, that on occasion, I have sprayed this scent in a non ventilated room, and the primary impact is quite heady and to some extent sickly!

I'm happy to confirm that I do not find the mist stains clothes as I often gently spray the automiser over my clothing too. This method affords a beautiful wafting aroma in a light breeze in its wake, though the 'Linx effect' is definitely missing! :~) Although I do not notice the fragrance after a while, unless I put my nose to my wrist, others have remarked on its pleasant ambient floral notes.

Using this lovely balmy flowery eau de toilette doesn't transport me to 'Hawaiian shores', but I feel lifted by its cheery exhilarating character :~)

Yes, I certainly do advocate this gorgeous graceful fruity fragrance as a light and airy aroma, especially suited for the spring and summer seasons. The perfume last surprising well considering its delicate features. I love using the product as a hair scent and on my clothing.
