“ Brand: Avon / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Parfum „
Little White Dress is a perfume released by Avon.
It is part of Avon's 'Little Dress' range. They first released a perfume called Little Black Dress (which I previously reviewed) back in 2001 and Little White Dress followed in 2009 and finally Little Red Dress (which I also previously reviewed) was released in 2011.
~ Bottle ~
Little White Dress comes in a very similarly designed bottle to the other two perfumes in the range.
The bottle is square and made from clear glass. The words 'little white dress' are on the front of the bottle, one under the other forming a square shape. The bottle design is fairly simple.
The lid of the bottle is a rectangular shape with a hole in the middle, which fits over the little dispenser on the bottle. It is made from plastic and has a layer of clear plastic with a layer of opaque white plastic underneath. It is quite awkward, but it clicks into place and I think it adds to the look of the bottle.
I like the design of the bottle. It isn't anything too special, but it is nice enough. I like the shape of it and it's not too boring or plain.
~ Price and availability ~
Little White Dress is usually available to order from Avon's brochure through your local Avon representative or to order online at, www.avonshop.co.uk.
It is not in the current brochure and it is not on their website at the minute.
I know that Avon don't put all of their stock in every brochure and I think their brochure corresponds with their stock on the website so that all of the same offers are on at the same time.
It's possible that this has recently been discontinued. In the past few months they have offered miniature bottles of Little Black Dress, Little White Dress and Little Red Dress so I think it would be a silly decision for it to be discontinued, when it is possible that people would have been given these miniatures for Christmas and if they want to buy full size versions they will not be available.
Little White Dress is available to buy new on amazon.co.uk and on ebay.co.uk for £13.00 for a 50ml bottle.
This was the usual brochure price, but it was regularly on offer buy one get one free or half price.
~ Scent ~
The perfume is light, crisp and fresh.
It combines top notes of freesia and mandarin, heart notes of peony and gardenia and base notes of white musk, light woods and vanilla.
I really like this fragrance.
I can't detect the mandarin or any fruity element to the perfume. It is dominated by the floral notes, which are nicely blended to produce this clean, fresh, light floral fragrance.
It is inoffensive and doesn't have any sharp or harsh notes.
It is quite subtle on my skin, but I have still found that its longevity is impressive and it is still evident after 8 hours.
It is a simple fragrance, but I think I prefer its scent to that of Little Black Dress, although I do prefer the more fruity Little Red Dress overall.
I'd say it is an every day perfume and one I choose to wear during the day rather than for nights out or special occasions.
~ Conclusion ~
Overall I think this is a lovely perfume. It is very light and fresh, but is floral and feminine at the same time.
I have found it to be long lasting on my skin.
It is reasonably priced for what it is and the bottle is simple, but nice.
I would consider buying this perfume again when my bottle runs out as I really like the scent and it is great for every day wear.
