      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      .

I bought all the Sassy Swirls Perfumes when they came out probably about 4-5 months ago. I like to try a new product and I see in the current Avon book this has been rebranded with a more Winter theme. I didn't end up liking all the Perfumes but they were nice enough to use up, and I don't have to buy them again.

This comes in 3 different scents and they all have a Vanilla scent to them but with a bit different scent in each of them. They are all 15ml bottles and the right price of them is £5 each, but they have often be on offer for £2.50 each, which is what they cost when I tried them.

The bottle for this is alright. This is a slim and quite long plastic bottle. Handy enough to pop in your bag or even your pocket if need be. The plastic is clear so you can see how much of this you have used. There is a wrap around label going around this bottle (or plastic tube as it more looks like) and there is the branding on this and some swirly patterns. The lid is secure on here and anytime i've had this in my bag the lid has stayed on just fine.

The scent of this is alright. You get the nice sweet scent of vanilla which is slightly Musky as well and smells like fresh Vanilla Pods. You can pick up on the Berry scent as well, but I would still say that the main scent is the Vanilla part. The Berry smells like Blackberry and is a nice fruity and sparkling scent. Nice and juicy as well.

This lasts a good enough lenght of time as well. Yes, it gets fainter perhaps after an hour, but the faint scent seems to last alright as well.

It is a nice scent but not my favourite in the range, I would say it is the 2nd favourite out of the 3 of them. It is a nice simple scent and just the perfect size to freshen up on the go.

        A great little bargain...

Friendly warning; there's not really much to say scent-wise about Avon's Sassy Swirls in VANILLA BERRY, but bear in mind that it's part of a trio of fragrances that are intended for layering together, so that's why it's uncomplicated and doesn't contain many individual scent notes.

        Smells like...

VANILLA BERRY opens with (surprise, surprise) a soft vanilla note and strong berries. I'm sure there's a hint of sweet citrus too; maybe tangerine? This citrus undertone means that whilst the berries and vanilla mix is sweet, there is a lightly freshness to everything so the fragrance doesn't reach the point of being overwhelming and sickly sweet.

The initial fruity hit loses potency fairly quickly, but a undertone of the berries linger under the key note of thickening vanilla. I've not had a perfume containing sunflower for years so am not sure what to be on the lookout for, but there is a slightly spicy smell under the berries that reminds me of the time that I tried roasting pumpkin seeds for Halloween. I don't know if this is the sunflower accord or some other floral as the note is largely hidden under everything else, but it's a real shame that this mysterious note isn't stronger as it breaks up the sweetness and gives the fragrance a bit of a kick.

The base focuses heavily on the vanilla not, though the berry notes do linger from the heart and carry through to the base too. I love tonka, but the note of it in VANILLA BERRY is as light as the floral(s) are, but it does add a nutty scent to the sweetness of the vanilla. I'm sure there is also a patchouli note in here too and a dash of musk, but the vanilla covers everything for the most part.

VANILLA BERRY comes is a clear, spray nozzle, plastic cylinder. This is perfect for tossing in your bag or carrying in a pocket for freshening up. I bought the Sassy Swirls collection as they are handy to keep in your bag for work, evenings out, traveling etc.

The Sassy Swirls collection are only available in 15ml spray tubes.

When, where and for how long?

The lasting power is around three to four hours, which I think is pretty good for an EDT. Some EDPs burn out faster, especially Avon releases. In fact, out of all the Avon fragrances I've owned/tried, only Far Away and Fergie's Outspoken wear for longer.

Considering that VANILLA BERRY is such a sweet fragrance it hasn't become sickly or cloying in the [brief burst of] hot weather we've had. And I do love a strong vanilla in autumn/winter, so for the grand total of £5 I've found a nice all rounder.

I find this a 'happy' fragrance and it can actually perk me up, so this is a good choice for both morning and night. I also feel comfortable wearing VANILLA BERRY for work, but some people may think it's too 'young' and informal. It doesn't seem to be offensive to others and I've had pleasant feedback, so if you like it then go for it.

        Worth a spritz?
        - - - - - - - - - - - - -

First things first; VANILLA BERRY isn't anything new and there isn't many scent notes in it, but the lasting power is great, considering that it's a cheaply priced and produced mass-market EDT. Not only is it surprisingly long wearing, but it's also light and non-sickly and perfectly packaged for travel. Round this off with the fact that it's an all year round, day and night fragrance, then what more to you reasonably expect for under a tenner?

Avon's whole selling point to VANNILLA BERRY is that it's meant to be layered with the other two EDTs in the Sassy Swirls collection, in addition to wearing it alone. I've worn it with one or both of the other Sassy Swirls perfumes and liked the results, but I do prefer wearing this one alone as it is by far the sweetest is the collection.

I've been playing around with my tube for a couple of months now and found that it is great for layering under loads of my other perfumes too - especially fruit or spice based ones, so there are infinitive options for wearing this.

The Sassy Swirls collection consists of VANILLA BERRY, Vanilla Blossom and Vanilla Bean EDT. Vanilla Bean is my personal favourite.

If you like gourmand or oriental vanilla fragrances, such as Britney Spears Fantasy, Paris Hilton Can Can, Philosophy Falling In Love, Thierry Mugler Angel, Avril Lavinge Black Star or Vera Wang Princess, then it's a sure bet that you'll enjoy this too.

        How much?
        - - - - - - - - - -

        £5

Avon have had offers on these fragrances in almost every brochure they've been featured in so far. I paid £7.50 for all three of the fragrances a few months ago and the last brochure had a three-for-two offer on them. The Avon site currently has them on a BOGOF.
