      .

This Perfume came out quite a while ago in Avon. The sassy Swirls scents launched with 3 scents, then just before last Christmas it was rebranded with a more Wintery kind of theme - but the Perfumes were nearly the same but had a bit of a twist to them. These ones are still knocking about but more in the sale books now and I ended up buying this one as part of a 3 for £5.99 offer. I have now tried all the Sassy Swirls scents.

This comes in a 15ml bottle which is just a perfect size if you want to carry a scent about to freshen up but don't want to carry a full sized bottle. This comes in a tube just like the picture. It is quite a slimline plastic tube which would even fit in your pocket if you so wish. The tube is plastic and lightweight and this has a wrap around sticky label on it and you can see how much of this you have used easily enough as the strip at the back doesn't exactly match up with the other side of the strip. The lid stays on secure as well and an easy pump spray to use.

The main scent in here is vanilla - as with all the Sassy Swirls range, but the blossom part adds a different kind of depth to this scent. When you first spray this you get the sweet and slighty Musky scent of the Vanilla and it is quite nice. Vanilla isn't my favourite scent but I do like it now and again. The Blossom part is meant to be made up of Peony and Violet. I can't say i'm an expert in detecting notes but I think I can make out the Peony. I used to like the Stella Mccartney Peony scent and there seems to be that scent coming through. Although I can say that I can detect Pink Florals perhaps the Vanilla does come out on top anyway.

I think the scent of this is alright. It is not my favourite in the Sassy Swirls range. Also the scent of this doesn't last all that long either and I find that I cannot smell this at all after a few hours. Since the right price of this costs £5 for the 15ml then I think it is a bit expensive to keep applying this and for that price I would have expected it to last longer.

A nice enough scent if you do like Vanilla scents but there is nicer ones in the range.

VANILLA BLOSSOM is a simple fragrance, with key notes of [three guesses] vanilla. I'm sure there's a hint of citrus in the top notes too; I'm not sure, but I think it's lemon and possibly a drop of orange to sweeten it up. This undertone adds a zest to the sweetness, so the fragrance doesn't reach the point of being overwhelming and sickly.

The floral notes are a disappointment; the musk note in VANILLA BLOSSOM is strong, so it has the unfortunate effect of overpowering the floral notes. The listed violet is undetectable to me, but I can make out peony and what is likely to be rose. I'm sure that there are several other florals, but I can't be sure about any of the other notes used as the musk is too much for me.

The base focuses heavily on the vanilla and musk notes. There is also some kind of woody note in here too [probably sandalwood, as this is a popular base note in Avon perfumes], but the vanilla and musk covers everything for the most part, just leaving a slight hint of something woody under everything else.

VANILLA BLOSSOM comes is a clear, spray nozzle, plastic cylinder. This is perfect for tossing in your bag or carrying in a pocket for freshening up. I bought the Sassy Swirls collection as they are handy to keep in your bag for work, evenings out, traveling etc. The cap and label on VANILLA BLOSSOM is pink.

The Sassy Swirls collection are only available in 15ml spray tubes.

When, where and for how long?

The lasting power is around three to four hours, which I think is pretty good for an EDT. I've owned EDPs that burnt out faster [especially true for Avon releases].

Considering that VANILLA BLOSSOM is such a sweet fragrance it hasn't become sickly or cloying in warmer weather, as the strong musk note is clean and 'airy', and vanilla based fragrances are my favourite for autumn/winter, so it can be used year-round.

I feel comfortable wearing sweet fragrances for work and, as it is made to be layered with other perfumes, VANILLA BLOSSOM can be used as either a base or topper for an evening fragrance too. That's the great thing about this collection; you can adjust the fragrance to suit you and the occasion.

      Worth a spritz?
      - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yep; VANNILLA BLOSSOM isn't anything new and there isn't many scent notes in it, but the lasting power is good for the concentration and low price. Not only is it surprisingly long wearing, but it's also easy to wear and perfectly packaged for travel. Round this off with the fact that it's an all-rounder fragrance, then what more to you reasonably expect from something that is around the same price as some body sprays?

Avon's whole selling point to VANILLA BLOSSOM is that it's meant to be layered with the other two EDTs in the Sassy Swirls collection, in addition to wearing it alone, so that's why it's uncomplicated and doesn't contain many individual scent notes. I've worn it alone a few times, but I don't like the strong musk note, so prefer layering it under my other perfumes - especially fruit or spice based ones to balance out the musk, so there are infinitive options for wearing this.

The Sassy Swirls collection consists of VANILLA BLOSSOM, Vanilla Berry and Vanilla Bean EDT.

      How much?
      - - - - - - - - - -

      £5

Avon have had offers on these fragrances in almost every brochure they've been featured in so far. I paid £7.50 for all three of the fragrances a few months ago and the last couple of Avon brochures that I saw had a three-for-two offer on them.
