Advantages: smells lovely, sweet and fruity, cheap
I received Scentini Nights Purple Pulse Eau de Toilette for Christmas.
I was excited to try it as I had been really impressed with the Scentini Plum Twist perfume I also own.
The Scentini range of fragrances is made by Avon. They released 3 Scentini fragrances and then more recently 3 more fragrances called Scentini Nights.
~ Price and availability ~
The eau de toilette comes in a 30ml bottle and is available to order from your local Avon representative or online at www.avonshop.co.uk.
It usually costs £8.00, but as it is about to be discontinued it is in the current sale brochure for £3.00 along with the other 2 Scentini Nights fragrances, Midnight Glow (a deep blue colour) and Emerald Sparkle (a deep dark green colour).
I am ordering both of the other Scentini Nights fragrances to try.
~ Bottle ~
The bottle holds 30ml of this fragrance. The bottle is cute and doesn't look stupidly small at all!
The bottle is a nice shape - widening at the neck and it has bubble shapes in the back of the bottle and the word 'SCENTINI' on the front of the bottle. The lid is purple and made of plastic as is the vaporiser button. The perfume itself is 2 different colours.
The bottle is made from clear glass. There is a clear liquid which sits on the bottom of the bottle and a deep dark purple coloured liquid which sits on top of this in the bottle and there is a clear border of where one colour ends and the other begins.
The idea is to shake the bottle to mix the layers together before spraying the fragrance. Avon advise that the fragrance should be shaken before use as it is designed as a cocktail of different fragrant layers.
When shaken, the liquid appears all purple and very cloudy, but with time it separates into the two layers again.
~ Scent ~
The eau de toilette goes onto your skin very greasy if you don't shake it well, but it is fine when it is shaken up.
The fragrance is very fruity.
Its notes include pomegranate, cherry blossom and cedar and it is described by Avon as oriental - fruity.
It does have a slightly oriental scent to it. There is something reminiscent of marzipan that I detect, but I wouldn't say it was sharp or harsh. The pomegranate and cherry blossom are the obvious notes that I can pick out.
It is sweet and I think it is quite summery. It is a very light, pleasant fragrance.
Being an eau de toilette, I find that it isn't as strong as an eau de parfum and it has poor sillage and I haven't been too impressed with its staying power. It lasts around 3 hours and then is no longer detectable, which is disappointing especially as I really like the scent.
Because of its staying power being rather poor, compared with other fragrances, I tend to use this fragrance just to freshen up.
The bottle is a handy size for my handbag.
I am in my mid-twenties and I really like this fragrance. I think this scent would also appeal to girls in their teens. I think the packaging is aimed at younger girls.
Although this is called Scentini Nights I think this is more of a daytime scent as it is light, fruity and summery.
~ Conclusion ~
The scent is really nice! It is really fruity and sweet.
I have found the longevity of this fragrance to be rather poor, but I would buy it again and I think it would make a nice gift.
At £3.00 per bottle it is a bargain, but it is being discontinued after this brochure so hurry if you want a bottle.
Summary: Fruity and fresh! I wish I could give 5 stars, but it does not last long enough!
