Avon Ballroom Beauty eau de toilette.
Made in Poland ad flammable.
Comes in pale pink box and has image of globe and 'Strictly Come Dancing' and is endorsed by the BBC.
'Sparkle in the limelight with romantic raspberry, feminine pink rose petals and sensual amber.'
Come in a large round bottle mimicking the large glitter globe of 'Strictly Come Dancing' containing 50 mls or a long slim clear glass spray handbag tube which is 15 mls. There is also a 100 ml bottle of body mist.
There are two perfumes in this range, Ballroom Beauty and Latin Sensation.
Full price £12.99 but the large bottle is currently on sale for £10.
The full price of the purse spray is normally £6 but currently only £2.
These two 'Ballroom' fragrances were launched by Avon back in October 2012 and were modelled on the success of the Strictly Come Dancing TV series which is on every winter.
Avon state this fragrance is:
Top Notes - juicy Raspberry, Wild Strawberry and tart sugared Lemon.
Middle Notes - pink Rose petals, sultry Jasmine and tantalising Violet leaves.
Base Notes - warm Musk, creamy Sandalwood and luscious Amber.
I really like the Latin Sensation which is the sister fragrance in this range so thought I would also like this version.
I especially like the long thin sprays for your handbag as they are lightweight and so easy to carry around with you. The larger 'Glitter Ball' bottles are more for your dressing table.
Although there is a slight resemblance to the Latin Sensation perfume this one is nt quite so appealing for me.
When first applied it is sharp and tart, but also quite fresh and invigorating.
This spray, for the price, lasts for around 3-4 hours which is good. It has a sharp sort of acidic aroma which tends to be mostly what you smell all the time. Nice enough to wear for the day but not as warm and mellow as Latin Sensation.
The list of aromas in this perfume looks impressive and sounds really nice, but I cannot distinguish any one specific item, and I have no idea what amber is supposed to smell like.
For £2 this little purse spray is fine to use for everyday but not one of my favourites.
This may make a good gift if you know someone who is a fan of Strictly Come Dancing - but I would advice Latin Sensations as being better than this one.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes - better than nothing.
Late last year I was flicking through the Avon brochure when I came across a page with this Avon Strictly Come Dancing Ballroom Beauty eau de toilette on it along with a 'rub to smell' part of the page.
I said that I liked it and then a few months later received it as a birthday gift from my mother.
There are two different Strictly Come Dancing fragrances that Avon have released. There is Ballroom Beauty and Latin Sensation. I tried both of them using 'rub to smell' pages, but liked this one more.
~ Bottle ~
I liked the bottle pictured. It is spherical with a heavily detailed pattern around the top and the bottom of the bottle.
When I received it, the first thing I noticed was how much smaller the bottle looked compared to in the brochure. It is less than 2 inches in diameter, but the bottle holds 50ml of eau de toilette.
I like the design of the bottle. There is a clear plastic cube that fits on top of the bottle as well.
The fragrance itself is a light pink colour. It comes in the same bottle as Latin Sensation only that is a dark red/pink coloured liquid.
The bottle does not have any wording on to say what it is called or that it has anything to do with Strictly Come Dancing, although the sticker on the bottom does say, 'Ballroom Beauty'.
~ Price and availability ~
A 50ml bottle of this eau de toilette is usually available priced at £12.99, but it is reduced in the current brochure to just £7.99.
It is also available to order online from the website, www.avonshop.co.uk.
~ Scent ~
The fragrance has top notes of raspberry, candied lemon and wild strawberry.
It has middle notes of rose petals, jasmine and violet leaves.
The base notes are musk, sandalwood and amber.
It smells interesting.
The lemon, rose and jasmine are what I can detect in this fragrance. It is citrusy and floral at the same time.
The lemon is quite strong and bitter, but I think it blends well with the floral notes. The raspberry and strawberry notes are evident when the fragrance is first sprayed, but the lemon and the florals dominate.
The fragrance is a little bit sharp, but inoffensive. It is quite a fresh fragrance.
I can imagine women of all ages would suit this fragrance. I don't think it is a particularly young fragrance.
I have found this eau de toilette lasts around 5 hours on my skin, which isn't too bad for an eau de toilette.
I think this fragrance would be suitable for both day time wear and nights out as it has a darkness and depth to it, which I think you could get away with easily on nights out.
I prefer to wear this as a day time fragrance. It is quite feminine due to the delicate floral notes.
I like this perfume and would recommend it. At £7.99, it is very reasonably priced and the bottle is a lovely design as well.
