Advantages: The bottle looks lovely.

Disadvantages: This perfume is truly vile.

Avon True Glow Eau de Parfum has been on sale for quite a few years now which is unusual for an Avon perfume. Avon tend to discontinue most of their fragrances on an annual basis, excluding the most popular ones such as Little Black Dress. I am very surprised to find that this perfume is a top seller, and that Avon see fit to continue making it after all these years.

The packaging is very stylish and I think it is what attracts most people to purchasing this perfume in the first place. The brochure claims that this is a floral and woody perfume to reflect your inner beauty. It comes in a 50ml bottle, and it retails for £12 with a regularly recurring offer price of £6 which you should look out for if you wish to try this. Alternatively, ask your Avon representative for a tester vial before you purchase.

Although this looks like it is going to be a really lovely perfume, what with its designer outer packaging and it's elegant coloured glass bottle. Unfortunately I find that this is a very cheap and really quite nasty scent. It is supposed to be both floral and woody, but all I can smell is wood. In fact this perfume is a little bit like wearing a forest, but without the lovely fresh greenery. Sadly, it is a really long-lasting perfume that sticks from here to eternity as well.

I know this looks attractive, and you might be forgiven for thinking something so pretty could not possibly be so vile. But trust me, as someone who has sampled hundreds of perfumes over the years, this really and truly is one of the worst I have ever had the misfortune to smell. I do not recommend it to anybody, as I have no idea who could possibly wish to smell like dead trees.

Summary: A perfume that smells like dead trees.
