Every fortnight my lovely Avon lady, Anita comes to my house in torrential rain, storms and snow with a catalogue. Every fortnight I gain the courage to say look I really don't want to order any more and then she gets here with her happy smile and her idol chit-chat and I feel guilt and make the vow 'well I'll just order something cheap' lol The reason for not wanting to order is simple really. I find that usually I can shop around and get better in the shops of names I really trust. Instead as a brand snob I always feel not great bout my purchases from Avon and the biggest reason for my dislike is because of the lack of information Avon give us. I've ... Read the complete review

This was another True Glow product I received for Christmas. I love the scent of the True Glow perfume, and also thought the matching body lotion was quite good, but I wasn't really looking forward to using the shimmer spray. I think I just thought it would be quite messy, and plus the lotion contained shimmer, so it wasn't like I needed it. The spray comes in a yellow tinted plastic bottle and has a non-aerosol pump. Avon True Glow is not one of my favourite Avon fragrances I have to say first of all. It is described by Avon in their brochure as being floral and woody which I suppose is quite true. I find the scent extremely mature, probably best suited to women in their fifties and sixties, despite the range as a whole behind this fragrance being obviously aimed at a younger generation. I find the scent very watery, very bland and to be truthful just a little cheap too. It is not a fragrance I tend to recommend to people regardless of the specific product they are looking to order. This product I am reviewing here is the True Glow Radiant Shimmer Spray. It is £3.50 ... Read the complete review

As part of the younger market that Avon is always trying to appeal to. They have certainly scored a winner with True Glow, Its that fragrance that you wear with a black dress and that you always used to pick out when you raided your mother's perfume collection. True Glow is one of my favourite Avon fragrances. In general Avon fragrances are always preferable to designer fragrances when you take cost into account. The shimmer spray is the perfect way to get the effect of the fragrance in a more subtle way and then just in case one benefit wasn't enough you get a shimmery effect as well. Which will add the sparkle factor when worn out to dinner. The bottle is a stylish ... Read the complete review
