Avon Far Away Exotic Eau de Parfum
by wazza115
We have a lady at work that does the Avon and every now and again, she brings in a 'goody' bag where everything is 50p (because the packaging is damaged, end of line etc) and in the past, I have had some real good bargains from it, one of the more recent items I have purchased was this.
The Product:
When I ... purchased, it didn't come in any packaging so I cannot comment on this however the bottle is made from frosted glass which has a wave pattern across the front, around the neck of the bottle are the trademark black tassels. The fragrance is a peach like colour.
It retails for £13.00 however like most Avon products, if you wait long enough, it does get a good promotional offer every now and again. It is only available in one size which is 50ml. Avon do however sell lots of different products in the same range, all which are reasonably priced: Shower gel, deodorant, body powder, mini spray and there are also gift sets available.
The fragrance:
Avons state the following about the product 'Escape the norm and get lost in a tantalising blend of exotic essences of rare florals spiced with amber and musk. Oriental'. To be honest, if I had read this before I purchased, I probably wouldn't have brought as I normally don't like floral fragrances. Upon first spray, I was pleasantly surprised as they were quite a few fruity notes coming through, mixed with a hint of vanilla and a spicy kick. I couldn't really detect anything floral, maybe a slight hint of jasmine but I did have to search to find this. I find that it doesn't change much throughout the day, nor does it smell much different on me than it does in the bottle. You don't need to spray much to know you are wearing it and at first, it did feel a little overpowering. I would definitely describe this as a winter perfume as I find it a little too heavy for a summery fragrance.
I find with most 'cheaper' fragrances, that within about an hour of wearing, they seem to disappear however this really does have good staying power. At the end of the day, although it isn't as strong, I can still smell this on my clothes. The worrying thing about this fragrance is that nobody has ever complimented me on it, working in a busy office, normally somebody comments 'ooh, what's that?', but nobody ever has!
Overall, I don't dislike the fragrance, but then again, it doesn't excite me and I don't think I will repurchase and for that reason, I will give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Avon Herve Leger Intrigue
by rolandrat
===The Brand===
Herve Leger brand is famous for the bandage dress which is reflected in the style of the bottles of perfume that they do for Avon which always has a sort of bandage wrap style to the bottles.
===The Product===
From fragrantica - 'Cooperation between cosmetics company Avon and ... fashion house of Herve Leger in the following fragrances so far resulted: Herve Leger Femme and Herve Leger Homme, launched in 2010, and Herve Leger Ete intended for summer 2011. Spray bottle and has the Herve Leger name on the front of the bottle.
It has a clear plastic cap to the bottle
===Variations===

Herve Leger Femme (2010).
===Cost===
On Amazon £18.90 + £3.99.
The Avon website state that it is no longer available but it may be in the brochures from time to time.
===My Opinion===
Avon state that this is 'A luxurious new fragrance wrapped in mysterious allure that will leave you wanting more. Elegant white tea, lavish cashmere woods and sublime musk. The composition is floral - woody - musk, starting with wild flowers, cotton and black pepper. White tea, silk blossom and rose wrap up the core of the perfume, while the base is warm and velvety due to accords of cashmere wood, musk and tonka'.
This is the latest perfume from the collaboration between Herve Leger and Avon.
This was brought out in 2012 but is already missing from their website - though as we all know they bring products back and forth like yoyos.
This perfume would have been around the £20 mark when on full price which reflects the cost of almost £23 on Amazon these days.
The bottle is unmistakeably Herve Leger as the design towards the bottom of the bottle reflects the 'bandage dress' that he s famous for.
This perfume is quite different to the Femme I have been using before. Whereas Femme is pink and feminine and floral this one is completely different. It is sophistical and smells expensive. It s long lasting but not too heavy and is suitable for both day and evening use. I would say that the perfume lasts well over 6 hours when applied and this would make it have good staying power to me.
The aroma is hard to describe - being slightly musky and warm. It states in the description that it has floral notes but do not think that this is a floral sort of perfume as it is not. It does have a certain sweetness too it but in a more sophisticated way. I find it difficult to smell any single notes and whatever rose is in it is blended in very well and is not distinguishable on its own. The musk and cashmere wood evidently give the perfume is lovely mellow tones but do not think this is like the cheap musky perfume that is on sale in some places, as this is much more subtle and a very grown up sort of fragrance.
