Although I have my favourite going out perfume, I like to change the perfume that I wear for work on a regular basis. This is one that I have recently purchased.
The fragrance comes in a bright red box which has the product detailed in gold lettering and I think it really stands out on the shelf. The bottle quite wide at the bottom and thin at the top, around the base is the product description again in gold lettering. The glass is see-through but has an orange tint to it, which is darker at the bottom and lighter near the top. I feel that the bottle and packaging both have a summery feel to them and it looks quite nice on the self in my bathroom.
According to basenotes.com, the fragrance is described as follows:
Top Notes – Passion Fruit Sorbet, Blood Orange
Middle notes – Cherry, Yellow Tiger Orchid, Mango Blossom, Hibiscus
Base notes – Teak Wood, Honey, Amber, Musk
Even if I had not sprayed the perfume, from the description above, I knew I would love this fragrance as I prefer fruit fragrances rather than floral ones.
I would normally steer clear of any celebrity fragrances and I have never found one in the past that I like but as soon as I sprayed the fragrance, I fell in love with it, it has a really summery feel to it and extremely fruity. To start with, I would say that the orange mixed with the other fruits are the most dominant, this then settles slightly and the other tones start to come through.
The only downside for me is that it doesn’t seem to last too long, if I spray this first thing, by lunch I feel the need to top up but I think this is more because it’s a EDT rather than an EDP as I normally find that this is the case. This doesn’t bother me too much though as because of the low price, I can spray away and not be worried.
There are now a few of us at work that wear this, simply due to the fact that several people commented how nice it smelt on me and then went out and purchased it too.
I really like the fragrance but as the staying power isn’t the greatest, I would only give it 4 out of 5 stars.
I guess you get what you pay for. I was bought this product from a relative one Christmas and although it sat in the box for a while I used it when I ran out of my usual perfume. It is to be honest, better used as more of a body spray as it lasts about as long and the scent is similar. I describe it as a young, fruity scent that to be honest smells a bit cheap, but it is pleasant none the less. As it is not that strong or overpowering I imagine it will be somewhat liked by the majority of tastes. The bottle is very nice and the lid clicks on and off easily. It is quite a large bottle and lasts a long time- I still have loads left. Celebrity-endorsed perfumes are in general never that good and this one falls into the same category if I'm honest. If nothing else the fact that it's Beyonce does make it a good present. It came also in a set with a shower gel/body wash which actually was really nice. I prefered this to the actual perfume and was a nice change from my usual shower gel. I would suggest it as a good perfume for a 9-13-year-old girl maybe.... Overall it is not a bad perfume for the price and I guess it meets my original expectations of the product but the body wash is better in my opinion. Perhaps just buy this one instead.
I'm not one for 'famous celebrity' perfume's but a member of the family was so excited that she got this, the artist was huge and she knew who she was, that I dared not be rude but wore this, as I was happy with the product but not overwhelmed.
It was a brand I had heard of but not on my wishlist. I think dedicated fans will love this.
The whole concept is base on 'heat' and fire based on her songs and there is a red and black theme running through the packaging with a touch of gold for apparently class.
The bottle is almost genie like with a triangle look aded with a fantasy feel gold top with the letter, B, etched on.
The impression I got was the top half of the bottle was light and then a demon red at the bottom, but I honestly had to look hard to see if the bottle was even filled because it looked empty and unappealing.
This is pitched as feminine and irresistible but I found I could resist this.
I did think this was as feminine as described as it smelt quite pop and light.
The vanilla and peach notes are very recognisable and inviting at first but don't be fooled.
TOP NOTES: VANILLA, MAGNOLIA, NEROLI AND PEACH
HEART NOTES: ALMOND MACAROON, HONEYSUCKLE AND MUSK
BASE NOTES: GIANT SEQUOIA MILKWOOD, TONKA BEAN AND AMBER
The scent when first spritzed is quite strong in a floral way, it was almost too much.
Once it calms itself it smells musky as though you have worn the fragrance all day and it's wearing off, not musky because you've been in a basement all day.
The notes I felt were too many floral notes jammed together that's why it threw itself at you.
The base notes I was quite surprised to find worked strongly as well in this product, normally they don't stand out too much only a light hint for me but this towards the end of the day made me want to get into new clean clothes and get the scent off me in case people thought I had issues.
Overall the effect felt like a splash of water with a hint of perfume in so in a scene I felt that this brand was cheap, rushed or pushed very quickly without any time taken over it.
Before you buy this I would recommend that you get hold of a sample first, apply some as you normally would, don't be taken in straight away, wait a few hours or even better all day before you splash out because , for me, the scent is deceiving.
Don't buy on impulse if you can help it.
Also for me, this had a very young smell, maybe something for older teenagers but not a scent for women in their early twenties or beyond.
For me, this was okay for the daytime to get to work now I know why I avoid these celebrity brands.
==Beyonce Heat Perfume==
It seems to me that as soon as you have either no money or limited funds, everyday essentials such as face cream and perfumes will invariably run out. This was the case with me a few months back when I had literally used every last drop of fragrance I owned yet didn't have sufficient funds to get anything I deemed as any good. So this is how I came to buy this Beyonce Heat perfume spray.
So as per usual I bought this perfume from my local boots which meant I was able to use my discount card and get a little bit more off than the special offer that was already on this particular fragrance. This being the only real reason that I bought this particular bottle because if its price and it wasn't one I had tried out before although having a quick sniff in store I did think it was just okay.
The bottle design is a good one for use because the chunky base means that it stands well on my dressing table and doesn't get knocked over easily. It is made up of a deep red colour glass and u can't say I am particularly taken with the overall look of the bottle however the spray pump nozzle does work well.
The scent itself is okay but far from being my favourite. It is quite reflective of its name in the respect that the smell is rather warming and deep. The heavier base notes are the ones that are the most long lasting and noticeable throughout the day but that said by the end of the day it has all but vanished and will need reapplication.
The hardly noticeable top notes are slightly floral but these seem to soon be replaced with the more muskier undertones and the amber ingredients that make up the perfume The scents used seem to work okay together but as I said before this is not one of my favourite perfumes or even one I shall be buying again.
Although the perfume is aimed at the slightly younger market of those in their twenties I think as I approach my thirtieth year this is not a fragrance I want to be wearing Nd not one I would recommend to the more sophisticated of perfume wearers.
I think a fair score here would be a three out of five stars as it is okay for the price I paid and I feel the product itself was reflected in the cost. Not really recommended I'm afraid.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
Many thanks for taking the time to read
I love trying out new perfumes and fragrances, so when I heard the Beyonce 'Heat' fragrance was out I decided to try it out, and although at first I had reservations, I am now more than happy that I added this to my perfume collection.
The perfume sits in a red box with the perfume name clearly printed on the front. The bottle shape as shown in the above picture is very elegant and has uniqueness about it, the design is not very extravagant but its uniqueness and elegant feel is one of the things about it that grabbed my attention. The shape however makes it little harder to grip onto, I found I had to be careful when picking it up as it could easily slip out of grasp. The shape starts off as a thick wide stone like design at the bottom and gets thinner as the glass design moves up to the perfume lid. The Lid itself looks to me like a small lantern that has a small nozzle inside that is a golden colour and a thick golden base with the heat of the flame being represented by the red colour radiating through the glass at the bottom. The colour red fades from a radiant red colour at the bottom of the bottle into a white colour near the upper half of the bottle.
The fragrance's Top Notes include red vanilla orchid, magnolia and neroli, and blush peach.
In its Heart Notes there are almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar and Crème de Musk.
The fragrance finishes with Base Notes with giant sequoia milkwood, Tonka bean and amber (taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_(perfume))
The scent is quite powerful and strong, which is different from the vast number of other feminine scented perfumes I have, which is in my opinion is a nice change. I did initially find the strong smell to be slightly overpowering at first, however after the initial sniff, it seemed to grow on me after a few sprays.
There is hint of sweetness in the smell which I personally think sits quite well behind the strong fruity and flowery scent. The scent of vanilla is also noticeable as well as the husky and peachy element, but the balance of these scents in opinion is just right, therefore not making any of the one smells too dominant or sickly.
The fragrance lasts for a nice three to four hours, which really illustrates the quality of the product, unlike other cheap fragrances that lose its smell after only an hour. I found that the smell after around two hours began to fade into a less powerful fragrance compared to when I first applied it, nonetheless the scent is still noticeable and pleasant.
Beyonce is a well known female singer who exudes a powerful image of a strong woman and this perfume definitely illustrates characteristics of her persona; being a powerful sexy and potent fragrance.
I personally think this is best worn at special occasions or during nightly events rather that on daily basis, purely due to the powerful alluring smell. It does smell a lot more expensive that it actually is, and can easily compete with the more expensive branded names on the market. I purchased mine from Boots at around £35 for a 50 ml sized bottle which in my opinion is quite a good price, especially with the advantage of the long lasting fragrance.
Overall I would definitely recommend this perfume, as it has nice strong floral fragrance that lasts for an impressive amount of time, and is reasonably well priced.
I received this perfume as a present last year and although I'm not much of a fan of celebrity perfumes I was really pleased as I'd heard positive things about it. Heat is Beyonce's first perfume. It was created in 2009 and released in 2010 and she has since released two additional fragrance; heat rush and midnight heat.
As I like the original Heat perfume so much I decided to have a sniff of the two follow-up fragrances in John Lewis and I ended up buying midnight heat. The original heat is by far my favourite though as it has quite a distinctive, original scent which is rare for a celebrity perfume in my opinion. It also smells very luxurious and it smells more expensive than it is. I have a 100ml bottle which retails at around £40.00 but it can easily be bought from online perfume retailers for half the price. 30ml and 50ml bottles are also available.
The perfume comes in an elegant bottle which has quite a simplistic design while still looking original and elegant, if that makes sense! The bottom of the bottle is quite an unusual shape - it is wide and curved and it looks a bit like a large gemstone in my opinion. The bottle gets thinner as it goes on and although the shape is quite simple I really like it and it stands out amongst my many other perfume bottles. Another thing that I like about the bottle is the colour - the glass is tinted red at the bottom and as it goes up the red starts getting lighter and the neck of the bottle is clear. The red reflects the name of the perfume and it adds a nice bit of detail to the bottle. The bottle has a clear, sqaure lid and the nozzle is golden with a thick golden base.
The scent is described as an alluring, feminine fragrance which is sensual, sexy and sophisticated. The manufacturers state that it excudes confidence, sexiness and energy. Beyonce said when speaking of her inspiration behind the fragrance: "I wanted something with an antique yet modern feeling. Even with my wardrobe, I always try to find things that have a little bit of something vintage, yet still timeless and classic. The bottle, I felt, was a great mixture of the two." The top notes feature red vanilla orchid, peach, magnolia and neroli. Almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar and crème de musk are the heart notes and the base notes are milkwood, tonka bean and amber.
This is quite an unusual fragrance and I wasn't too keen at first but it is now one of my favourite perfumes! I am used to very sweet, feminine fragrances and this was a bit of a shock to the system as it's an incredibly powerful scent and quite manly with the initial few sprays. It still has a little sweetness to it though. It starts off quite floral, but it's not a sweet or gentle floral. The hint of peach adds just the right amount of sweetness and after five minutes or so of spraying it onto my skin the fruity scent developes nicely with the sweet and floral fragrances kicking in - vanilla is definitely one of the more prominent fragrances but the strong musky scent and tonka bean stops it from smelling sickly. I can't say that I ever really notice the smell of the honeysuckle nectar but all of the other notes can be smelt while wearing this. The amber isn't as strong as I'd of liked but it adds depth and keeps the perfume smelling strong despite the more prominent softer notes.
I find this a little too musky and floral for day to day wear but it's ideal for nights out and I do think that it's a sexy fragrance like the manufacturers claim. It's also very expensive smelling in my opinion and it is excellent value for money. The lasting power isn't great but it's still reasonable - I'd say it lasts for around four to five hours before it fades. I find that rather than gradually fading it is strong for a few hours and then it's almost undetectable which is quite strange but nevertheless, I really like this perfume and I recommend it.
Who doesn't love Beyonce. With her fierce attitude, amazing voice and power to women attitude I expected no less than a feminine fruity perfume with a heavy musk mingling in-between to turn up the heat. Beyonce provided that and more. The bottle is simple yet bold at the same time. It reminds me a lot of a decanter. The bottle to me suggests, that just like the liquid contained in a decanter, the liquid inside this bottle is made to take over your senses. The bright red colour just adds to the beauty of this bottle. The perfume opens with dark, husky florals as under tones to a beautiful peach smell. It's a little like bon bons. The first few minutes may be a little over powering but then the more subtle notes kick in due to the softer notes (red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli, blush peach, honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon, crème de musk, sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber). Towards the end the perfume gets very musky and I can certainly smell the amber. The thing I love about this perfume is that the sweetness never dies down. The perfume like most products comes with matching body sprays and lotions and is avalible in 100 50 and 30 ml sizes.
I bought this perfume as it sounded really promising, despite the bland packaging. The perfume promises notes of vanilla, orchid and musky notes, which sounded like my perfect perfume. I purchased the huge 100ml bottle for £20 online (from a popular auction site). The box was damaged on arrival but I wasn't too fussed, as long as the perfume inside was okay. Plus I got a bargain (so I thought anyway).
Upon first spraying this perfume I could detect the above notes pretty well. Initially it smells very fresh and fruity, if not a little strong. I didn't mind this as I like scents that give a good first impression. After an hour or so the scent just fades away without a trace. I couldn't understand this as it does smell pretty strong to begin with. The final notes don't do the scent much justice as they are quite weak. I find myself topping this up quite often throughout the day so I guess even the 100ml bottle won't last me forever (boo!).
Would I recommend this perfume? No. I think people have only bought it because it's "made" by Beyonce but unfortunately it doesn't live up to the hype. It's not the nicest smelling perfume in the world, i've smelt better scents for a fiver from Next.
A shame that the notes aren't very long lasting and the bottle is really ugly! It'll get me by I suppose. Not bad for work.
To begin this review, I will say how much I love this perfume! I received this in a gift set from my mum at Christmas last year and have only finished it now. I love the bottles shape and actually it holds a lot of perfume.
This perfume is very feminine. The scent is very fruity and floral. I would say that it suits any woman and is really an ideal gift. The smell instantly smells amazing, not overpowering like some. The perfume lasts very long. At first, the smell is a very intense fruity smell and this lasts for about half a day and then the scent turns quite musky. This is very useful if you are constantly on the go and want an everyday day perfume.
This perfume is not ultra expensive like other celebrity perfumes and is definitely worth every penny! I will certainly be buying this bottle again!
received this perfume as a present a few months ago. I had seen it advertised almost everywhere but I hadn't read any reviews about it or heard anything about it from friends. So I knew it existed but apart from that I didn't really know what to expect, and didn't have a slightest clue what it was going to smell like.
As a celebrity Beyonce is obviously one of the more classier, powerful types of women celebrities out there. I'm not a massive fan but I do like her and I was all for a perfume that made me smell as good as she looks! I was a bit worried though, as I heard a rumour once that she is actually allergic to perfume! I'm not sure if thats true though!
The bottle this comes in a red box with black outlined edges as shown in the picture provided by ciao. The bottle is also shown in the picture, which I'm glad about as it would have been hard to describe that shape! I think the bottle design is OK but its not one of my favourite bottle designs. It does really reflect the name of the perfume though which I suppose is good. It isn't easy to spray the perfume with the bottle being that shape though, as you can lose your grip on it quite easily.
The fragrance is quite sweet and I would describe it as quite fruity. The top notes are depicted with red vanilla, orchid, magnolia, neroli and peach. The heart notes are honeysuckle, almond and musky cream, while the fragrance finishes with more woody note such as sequoia wood, tonka and amber. I really like the woody notes in this and can detect them really well after wearing the perfume for a while. I can smell this for a few hours before feeling like I need to apply it again, the staying power is overall pretty good though.
Overall I think this is a lovely fragrance, I would wear it mainly in the evenings rather than during the daytime as it is a bit special. I would definitely recommend this, I couldn't believe it either, when I checked the price of this perfume online. It is only £19.99 for a 50ml bottle! Normally perfumes are a lot more expensive than this and I would have thought this perfume is just as good as the more expensive perfumes that are out there. For this reason I will probably be buying another bottle of this when I run out. 0
I subscribed to Glamour magazine, and this was a free gift - I was really looking forward to receiving this as I thought it would be amazing when it arrived (obviously, as it's by Beyonce!!) However, when I first sprayed it I was disappointed... It is extremely subtle. I could barely smell it soon after I'd put it on unfortunately. It's a kind of "musky" scent, probably more attractive to an older lady than a younger one, but all the same I felt a little let down. I sprayed generously that night before going for some drinks with a few friends and held out my wrist for them to smell my new perfume - but they couldn't even smell it. Overall, a nice fragrance but just not strong enough. It's great if you want to blend in and want a subtle tone - but just not for me I'm afraid!
Whenever I hear that a celebrity has invented a fragrance I usually stay well clear of the actual product. I think they lack class, seem tacky and it is not something that I would feel proud to wear or have display in my bathroom, especially where 'stars' such as Jordan are concerned.
I first saw Beyonce's new perfume on the edge of one of the aisles in Boots last year and the advert looked so tempting I couldn't help but to test it and then the next thing you know I'm out of the till buying it, smelling delicious and with my principles thrown soundly out of the window. In my defence though, I don't think you could ever put Jordan and Beyonce in the same category.
Heat is the first fragrance to be created by the singer Beyonce and the advert portrayed this perfectly with the sexy singer looking smouldering in red with the byline, 'Catch the Fever.' The television advert had Beyonce walking through flames and I imagined this fragrance was going to be overly spicy like Britney Spear's Hidden Fantasy but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my guess had been completely wrong.
The perfume is designed for the fiery, sexy and sophisticated women who is powerful, goes after what she wants and invariably get it too. It focuses on finding the strength from within, enjoying the sensuality of life and flirty provocation. Mix all that in with an atmosphere of passion and intensity and you've got yourself a fragrance that the wallflowers will want to stay away from.
The top notes of this fragrance are like taking a walk through a luscious forest with a mixture of sweet and fruity aromas, dusted with delicate petals. As well as the bitter sweet scent of the Neroli which is the blossom of the Orange tree, there is a succulent and juicy aroma of Peach. Accompanying these ingredients is the gentle scent of the Carribbean Magnolia and the sweet creamy mystery of the Red Vanilla Orchid.
At the heart of this fragrance lies a heavy musky which gives this fragrance the feeling of depth and heat. Mixed into the middle of the fragrance is the sweet Honeysuckle and the subtle addition of Almonds which work together to create a strong body to this perfume.
At the bottom of the fragrance lies the rich aroma of Amber which adds an extra touch of Musk. The addition of Tonka Bean gives a very welcome cinnamon and vanilla essence to the fragrance while the Sequoia Wood gives an added depth and heat to the perfume.
Packaging & Price
The fragrance comes enclosed within a vintage style bottle that I don't mind putting on display. It is made out glass and changes in colour as it progresses, ending in red to signify fire. The bottle is thin at top and then increases in size and it looks to me almost like the waist and hips of a curvy women.
The fragrance will cost you around £25 for 50ml and both larger and smaller bottles are available. It can be bought from most large department stores such as Boots, from perfume stores and also from plenty of online websites. The price seems to vary greatly so it's a good idea to shop around.
This fragrance goes through a series of changes as you wear it. By the time I had left Boots, the tester that I had sprayed on my wrist smelt completely different to when I had first sprayed it. I was blown away by the sweetness at the initial application. I love all things sweet and this was like syrup, vanilla and sweets all mixed up into one delicious concoction with some juicy fruit thrown in for good measure.
Once this sweetness subsides, a weird aroma kicks in that I can only describe as the smell that you experience when you have left something hot on. It literally smells like wood burning, mixed in with musk so it definitely deserves the title heat. It is a very unusual fragrance indeed. If you don't like sugary fragrances then you'll want to stay well away as I imagine it could get very sicky, especially in addition to the burning musk.
It is a strong fragrance and you won't want to overdo the application for the sake of both you and those around you. That is easier said than done, as the spritz comes out at some force so you may need to spritz the air and walk into it so that it's more toned down. That being said, the fragrance doesn't last overly long so a reapplication may be needed at some point. Because this fragrance is so heavy and noticeable, I think it's better suited to night time wear rather than for the day time.
All in all, this is a sweet and sugary fragrance with darker, heated undertones. It won't be to everyone's taste and it's likely to evoke strong feelings in you, whether it will be love or hate will depend on how you feel about smelling like Syrup on warm apple pie. It's strong and noticeable, and although it hasn't completely converted me, I am now willing to give celebrity fragrances a try.
I love getting perfume samples, I would have spent a small fortune over the years buying ones I thought I would like then hating them. My latest samples included Beyonce Heat.
This is the first perfume by singer Beyonce and was introduced in February 2010. As mine is only a sample I've only got a little glass tube but the bottle that the perfume is sold in actually reminds me of something that we used to use in chemistry in school. Its very wide at the bottom and tapers in to a long neck. The lid is clear allowing you to see the gold spray nozzle. The bottle and packaging are all mostly red and gold and the box although quite simple is very stylish. I assume the red colour scheme is to complement the name of the fragrance.
The notes in Beyonce Heat are:-
Top Notes-- Peach, magnolia, red vanilla. neroli and orchid
Heart Notes-- almond macaroon, creme de musk, nectar and honeysuckle
Base Notes--Tonka bean, amber and sequoia milkwood.
When sprayed Heat is instantly recognisable as mainly floral. The fragrance is sweet and delicate. I can not identify the individual notes but I definitely like what I'm smelling. After a few minuets a more spicy fragrance creeps though. The floral elements have totally vanished leaving a deeper smelling perfume. I must admit I'm not very good at identifying individual notes and for the rest of the time I was wearing Heat it was a deep warm spicy almost oriental fragrance. Its quite heady and to be honest not at all what I was expecting from Beyonce.
I found the staying power of this was good, it easily lasts an evening and I could still actually smell it faintly in my hair the next day so if you were to choose it as a daytime fragrance it would easily last all day, although for me its definitely an evening perfume
In my opinion Beyonce Heat would suit anyone apart from young teenagers. I would love a full bottle of this to wear on a night out.
Heat is sold in most department stores and on line shops. In Superdrug the current prices are 50ml £27.99 and 30ml £21.99. However its certainly worth looking online at www.cheapsmells.com because the prices are cheaper.
Overall I would recommend Heat by Beyonce, it was a total surprise to me but a very pleasant one.
I received this perfume from my Mum as a birthday present last week.
I have never smelt it before nor ever mentioned that i would like to, to my Mum. I have seen the advert on TV and thought i would like to try it as i am a fan of Beyonce's and she is hot!!
When i first smelt it on my birthday i thought it was a beautiful sweet smell. With some perfumes i find the smell doesn't last long when worn but with this one i can smell it all day on myself. Its not too strong and over powering, its just right. My boyfriend loves it too which is a bonus!
I will definately be buyng more when i run out! The bottle is also very sexy and i think the price is very reasonable compared to most perfumes which are so expensive most people can't afford them.
Buy this perfume for a reasonable price but an expensive fragrant!
We all know Beyonce Knowles for her music and like all stars they get offers left, right and centre. Most celebrities today have a perfume out and one thing I like most is they are usually cheap! Heat is Beyonce's first perfume and from my experience a very good one!
This I found in boots on offer for £9.99, it came with a 30ml edt, shower gel and body lotion what a bargain! I bought one for my friends and members of my family and was so pleased that I went back to get myself one but they completely sold out! Luckily my brother in law bought me just the 30ml edt.
This fragrance is a meduim, warm scent and would probably suit teenagers to late thirtys from my experience of working in a perfume shop for six years this would be best suited.
It is a fruity, floral and woody fragrance that is irresistible to wear and to my husband! It is extremely feminine and has a feminine power to it.
The ingrediants are:
red vanilla orchid
You can get a 30ml for £23.50, 50ml for £29.62 I believe the shower gel and body lotion is only part of a gift set.
At first this fragrance seems very sweet and very fruity but as soon as it warms and melts into the skin it smells divine. I always get compliments so it must be good! This perfume would probably last around 12 hours and is better suited for a day fragrance.
You can buy this pretty much everywhere superdrug, boots, most pharmacys even tescos.
I hope you have enjoyed this and has been of some use :)
