?Life is a flirt. Love is a game. The sky is your limit. Beyonce Pulse Summer Edition gives you a burst of the inexplicable energy you feel during the Summer. It will leave you feeling great, ready to conquer anything, as if nothing and no one could ever resist you."
The thing that made the original Pulse stand out from the crowd was the accords of Curacao liqueur in it, which PULSE SUMMER leaves out, so I knew right away that I wouldn't love it. I'm not sure if there is a hint of coconut in the mix, but I sometimes think I can sniff some caught up in with the mandarin. I also catch a watery pear note, but the pepper remains undetectable to me.
'Ginger orchid' is a fancy way of saying ginger infused with vanilla, so PULSE SUMMER does become a slightly bit spicy after twenty minutes or so. From here on out PULSE SUMMER is the same as the original Pulse; the florals are watery, fresh and mild, and a hint of fruit hangs around. The only floral note that I can place with any kind of certainty is the jasmine note, but it does seem a bit underdeveloped - the reminder of the pear note does dilute everything.
The base is a bit dull as it's the standard vanilla (benzoin), sandalwood ('sapphirewood') and breeze of musk mix. To be fair a bit of the 'ginger orchid' does stick around for a bit, so there is a bit more life for most of PULSE SUMMER's wear.
Official scent notes: Icy mandarin, pear, pink pepper, ginger orchid, jasmine, orange blossom, sapphire woods, musk and benzoin.
As the floral notes are largely underdeveloped, its no shock that the lasting power of PULSE SUMMer isn't the best around five hours, on average. Not great, but it's a step up from the likes of Heat, Heat Rush, Heat: MCSWTLE & Rise.
I think that this is best suited to use for day wear, as the notes are fairly mild. To me it is too soft for evening/special occasions, but you could wear pretty much anywhere, anytime; it's not too floral or too fruity and the sweetness is creamy, not syrupy.
Beyonce Pulse Summer is the 'sequel' fragrance to Beyonce's Pulse fragrance. It is a fragrance from American pop star and actress Beyonce. The fragrance was released in 2012. The fragrance is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles. The 50ml bottle is available from Boots for £30 which I do think is quite expensive.
The packaging is very attractive. It consists of a see-through-blue bottle. It's very cool and calm looking. I love the bottle. It's very attractive looking. I think it represents Beyonce very well. It's quite 'strong' and 'confident' looking and stands proudly on my dressing table.
The top notes of this fragrance are: Mandarin Orange, Pink Pepper and Pear.
The middle notes are: Jasmine, African Orange Flower and Orchid.
Base notes: Woodsy Notes, Musk, Benzoin.
When its first sprayed, the scent starts off as being lovely and fresh with a clean citrusy smell. The citrusy-ness then turns to musk. The main 'citrus ingredient' which stands out the most for me is oranges. I can smell a slight smell of pear - When I discovered that there was pear in this fragrance I imagined it being quick sickly, but the pear isn't too strong. It's ok actually and not as sweet as I had imagined it would be. The different notes tend to shine through at different times. I would like it if the citrus scent lasted longer as this is my favourite part of the fragrance. It sounds strange but there is something 'powdery' about this fragrance, although it is hard to explain how/why I think that.
The scent is quite sweet and fruity. It's a light, gentle and subtle scent which reminds me of summer. When I smell this, it makes me think of the beach (there is something quite dreamy about it), and so I would definitely say that this perfume is for the summer as it is quite light and fresh. It is great for every-day use and daytime wear as it isn't too 'heavy' and is not the kind of scent which will get on people's nerves as it isn't too 'in yer face'.
The scent is very 'pretty'. It's very girlie and feminine. There is something very 'young' about it and so I would say that it is for teenagers and people in their twenties, as opposed to older ladies. I would describe this scent as being 'happy' as there is something quite positive about it. When wearing this I feel confident, powerful and strong...so in a way it makes me feel like Beyonce. It is a lovely romantic scent.
One thing which is annoying about this scent is it's lasting power. It just does not want to last which is a shame. I also think that because of this you get through the bottle much quicker than you would with a 'longer lasting fragrance' and so I do think that in a way this perfume is not good value for money as it does not last.
All in all, I would recommend this scent, especially if you are looking for a 'light' and 'summery' scent which will put you in a good mood. Whatsmore you don't even need to like Beyonce to like this scent!
Thanks for reading!
