“ Brand: The Body Shop / Type: Oil Fragrance „
I love The Body Shop, they sell some really lovely stuff. It's even better when there is a sale on or when a discount code is available which is very often. I think I have only ever bought anything off their website when I have had a discount code. If there is something I really want, I wait for a code to be released, for example at the moment there is a 35% off code which also works on sale items which means some really big savings.
Before buying the Madagascan Vanilla Perfume Oil, I already owned the Madagascan Vanilla eau de toilette which I liked but the bottle is 50ml and I don't really like carrying it around with me. I like to reapply my perfume when I am out if it isn't a really strong one so this little perfume oil seemed very practical and handy.
This usually costs £7 but I had a 40% discount code so it cost me £4.20. The bottle is only 15ml which makes the bottle very compact and fits anywhere which makes it easy to carry around. The bottle is round and clear glass with a white lid. The white lid has a little dabber thing inside which you can use to apply the perfume oil. I usually apply it by pressing the bottle against my wrist, turning it upside down and then turning it back the right way up before removing it from my wrist. There is a little yellow paper label around the neck of the bottle with details about the perfume oil.
The smell is sweet but not sickly, it's a warm scent and very feminine. I can smell some light floral notes in this but I definitely wouldn't describe it as a floral perfume, they are very light and just add some depth to the fragrance. There are amber notes which add some 'sparkle' and a lot of warmth and definitely make the scent a lot more interesting. When the perfume oil dries, powdery notes start to come through which stop it being too sweet and add some dryness to the scent. Over all this is a warm, exotic scent but it isn't fruity and the vanilla isn't too sweet. The strongest smell is definitely the vanilla but the addition of the other notes make this fragrance something special.
At the end of the day, a slight smell is still noticable on my wrist but the scent does fade quite a bit. I wouldn't call this a long lasting scent but it does have staying power although the smell isn't heavy or strong and gets a lot weaker as the day goes on.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes the smell of vanilla. I think the value for money is reasonable if you use a discount code. You don't need to use much so it lasts quite well depending on how much you like to use or how often you apply it.
I just love all the body shop perfume oils!I have stopped using regular perfumes with alcohol a year ago and i feel the difference! The body shop perfume oils do not contain alcohol and this means that they don't have this strong alcohol scent and are really good for the skin. They make the skin feel sooo soft and nice...they are really friendly with it.What's even more amazing is that they last really long!
My favorite one is the madagascan vanilla.I've been using the original vanilla oil for years and when i found out that they changes it to madagascan vanilla i got really disappointed , but when i smelled this new scent i felt great again! It's a tropical and tempting scent , sweet and sensual.Makes me feel so confident and irresistible . It's a WOMAN scent!!!!!sexy and wonderful......the difference from the previous simple vanilla oil is that it derives its scent from the vanilla flower and not the seed.
The little bottle lasts for a long time because you only need to use very little oil with just the tip of your finger and it's done its work. It's magic.Sometimes , when people smell it off me they tell me that i smell just edible!!
The fact that comes to end the whole discussion is its incredible price! It costs 9.90 euros as opposed to the really expensive label fragrances.I'm just tired of all these perfumes.I need something pure, natural ,with no added alcohol and not animal tested. From the ethical point of view, it is also a wonderful choice and makes me feel just great about myself, since i am also a vegetarian and an animal lover.
Some time ago I got with my 02 priority moments a 40% off anything online at the The body shop with free delivery over £5. Not one to pass up a bargain, and any excuse for some online shopping (serious new years resolution is to curb this unnecessary online spending!) I opened a new tab asap and began throwing all sorts into my virtual basket!
I originally fell in love with the body shop vanilla eau de parfum years ago when I was in secondary school and since I hadn't bought some for ages I was browsing online in a search for it but was so disappointed not to actually find it! The Bodyshop seemed to have revamped their brandinng and products and so the closest thing I could find as a replacement was this Body Shop Madagascan Vanilla Perfume oil.
It comes in a small 15ml glass bottle with a round white stopper lid which has inside a little stick attached - an ideal tool for perfectly dabbing this scented oil in delicate areas such as the wrists and neck. There is a tag around the neck of the teeny bottle which is an orange little leaflet which states that it is alcohol free, (in about 6 or 7 languages) and there is a little snoozefest list of ingredients lol.
Applying the oil is easy, and I tend to just casually dab a few drops on either side of my neck and on my wrists for a nice scent on all angles. It is quite oily - in the sense rather thick and runny and it looks clear in the bottle with a slightly yellow tinge. The oil does smell quite vanilla-esque and is like the previous eau de parfum from the body shop but it is indeed a much more floral and gentle scent. It is derived from a madagascan vanilla flower so I guess that explains the floral scent despite the more prominent vanilla feature which is much more characteristic for this oil. I love how this smells though, and think it is very unique to the body shop and is unlike any other vanilla perfumes I own. On my wrists and neck it feels very intimate and warm and I think it's a lovely seductive scent for those key moments! It has really long lasting power, and by the end of the day if I sniff my wrists (not quite flexible to sniff my neck!) it can still be appreciated and although more subtle it still has the same effect as earlier in the day.
This teeny pot of oil costs £7 but I paid only £4.20 which is not a bad deal at all. For this price, I am happy with my purchase, and I think I'd only buy it again when I have these discount vouchers! When I bought this online I wasn't properly paying attention and thought this came as an oil I could spray but I do quite like it only on my wrists and neck and think it is more effective being using sparingly so overall I will still give this a 4 out of 5!
