After using up Curious and Midnight , I saw the believe perfume and went to purchase it from local superdrug. This the only one of the Britney Spears perfume that I didn't like when I first opened the box. However compared to the other perfumes this has an elegant smell. I wear this perfume a lot when I go to work, I have received lots of compliments for friends, family and customers. After I bought believe three of my friends have this perfume after I recommended it to them. However even though this my favourite Britney Spears perfume I have two disadvantages because of the shape, firstly on my dressing table it gets easily knocked over, I hate having to always stand it up. Secondly because there not much perfume left I have shake and tip the bottle upside so I can spray to get the perfume out. I will still purchase this gain and keep on recommending this perfume as any women can wear the perfume.
~*~*~ Britney Spears - Believe ~*~*~
~ What is it? ~
This is the fifth fragrance by Britney Spears and has been available to buy since 2007. This one comes in a green coloured bottle and looks to be a refreshing, clean fragrance.
~ The Scent ~
This opens to be a nice, refreshing fruity scent which mellows into a delicate heart, closely followed by a patchouli and amber base giving it a bit of warmth.
~ Notes ~
Top - Guava & Tangerine
Heart - Honey Suckle & Lime Blossom
Base - Praline, Amber & Patchouli.
This was recommended to me by a friend so I went ahead and bought it without having the chance to smell it beforehand, I paid around £8 for a 50ml bottle from Home Bargains which I thought was a brilliant price for a celeb fragrance with very pretty packaging and an attractive shaped glass bottle.
Upon first spraying this on my wrist I noticed a citrus blend that was fruity and refreshing, I noticed that it didn't smell as 'green' as what the bottle suggested to me, I expected it to smell more crisp and fresh than it did. This wan't a bad thing it was just different.
I do find the praline and amber to be a bit predominate throughout and I find that these can be a bit heady at times. Other times it doesn't seem as strong and I put this down to the chemistry of my skin.
However these notes stop this being aimed at younger girls/ladies. The tangerine keeps the juiciness and freshness which is what I like.
This is the type of fragrance that is suitable for everyday use and at the low prices it can be found this is cheap enough for that use.
The bottle is quite something. It is a triangular diamond shaped pale green glass bottle, it has a shiny silver triangle on the top with the Britney Spears logo printed on one side. The lid is a solid clear plastic triangle which incorporates with the rest of the bottle perfectly.
The bottle looks somewhat art deco and is very pretty.
~ My Thoughts ~
This isn't one of my favourite scents but it is nice enough. I don't wear it often as I have others that I prefer over this but I can say this is certainly not something I keep for 'best'.
I like the scent, it is nice and fresh and quite light but the praline makes it somewhat deeper.
The bottle is very pretty but I don't think the colours match the actual scent as much as it should.
When applied it has an average staying time of around 3 hours which is pretty much standard for celeb scents.
Thanks for reading :o) x
I cannot resist a bargain, so when I saw this perfume for a knock down price of £8 for 100ml I decided to chance it. Though I love expensive luxury brand perfumes I also love being out of my overdraft so this is something I bought for everyday use and reserved my other perfumes for special occasions.
The bottle this perfumes comes in is very unusual and this is one of the things I really liked about the design. It is essentially a triangular shaped prism which has three faces (a little bit like a pyramid). It sits on a square cut base and has a clear coloured plastic lid which is also triangular in shape. Though the shape of the bottle is very pretty and unusual it is probably a little impractical as I often find it tricky to stand it up properly.
The perfume itself is a beautiful light green colour which gives the whole bottle a really reserved elegant look which I wouldn't automatically associate with Britney. I find the choice of colour really important as if this were in a pink or purple I probably wouldn't have been so drawn to it as it could look a little tacky. This green colour saves it from becoming cheap and gives it a real look of sophistication.
Moving onto the fragrance then the first thing that hit me is that this is not a classic luxury brand smell, and I have to say I wouldn't expect it to be at the price. All I was concerned about was that it was wearable on a day to day basis and I really think it is. The smell isn't too overpowering which is a positive as I'd rather have something subtle for everyday wear.
The notes in this scent are guava, tangerine, honeysuckle and amber among others. The overall feel of this is of it being very light, fresh and fruity which is really nice to a day to day scent. I find it does have a very young feel to it which is not surprising given Britney's age and her target audience of mostly teenage girls. The scent is very warm, soft and comes together really nicely to give a clean and young feeling smell.
I'm pretty surprised the scent is of such a good quality considering how cheap it is. It isn't the kind of perfumes that necessarily wows you, and the quality isn't at the standard of high brand perfumes. That said, it has a pleasant smell and it lasts a decent amount of time - usually around 3-4 hours. For what I use it for it is pretty perfect because it lasts long enough, smells good and is easy to wear all year round. Oh, and it was cheap!
I did get mine in the sale but having looked around a bit it seems that you can get the 30ml for around £10, 50ml for around £15 and the 100ml for around £25. These aren't bad prices considering how expensive perfumes can be these days, but I definitely would recommend shopping around to get the best deal.
Overall, a surprisingly good scent.
I have all of the Britney Spears perfume as I do genuinely think that they are all great and great value for money too. Today, I will be reviewing Britney's 'Believe' perfume.
Believe is available in the following bottles:
30ml (£13.45, Amazon)
50ml (£16.94, Amazon)
100ml (£17.50, Amazon)
Top notes: Guava Pulp and Golden Tangerine
Middle notes: Honeysuckle and Linden Blossom
Base notes: Patchouli, Amber and Pink Pralines
I love the bottle. It's a lovely green diamon kind of shape. It stands out and is quite 'edgy' looking, whilst at the same time, looks 'friendly' and 'approachable' (if that makes sense).
To be honest, I had never heard of half of the ingredients in this perfume (Guava Pulp? Patchouli? Etc.) However, what I can say is that the ingredients do blend very well together and create a lovely scent.
I would describe the scent as being fruity and sweet. It is a 'just right' kind of sweet and is not too sickly sweet which is good, as I think there is nothing worse than a perfume that is too sweet.
The scent is very girlie and whilst is had quite a young feel to it, I do think that it does come across as being more 'grown up' than Britney's other perfumes. I like how 'fun' and 'playful' this scent is. It always puts me in a good mood when I wear it.
This perfume is quite summery as it is quite light. However, I do think that this perfume is suitable for all year around. It is a great 'for all occasions' kind of perfume too, which is good.
I think that this perfume is great value for money. It is very affordable and a bottle (50ml) lasts a good few months. The lasting power of the perfume is also very good. I can put it on first thing in the morning, and whilst it obviously does fade throughout the day, I can still smell it at the end of the day.
I would definitely recommend this perfume.
Thanks for reading!

Britney Spears perfume Believe is just like a typical celeb perfume, floral and fruity. The top notes welcome you to the perfume with a very sweet juicy guava smell accompanied by a beautiful tangerine. This then quickly transforms into sweet, yet subtle florals (honeysuckle mingled with pretty hints of linden blossom). These florals just as rapidly switch to drydown which is soft, musky and slightly woody. This is apparently down to a " patchouli aura is wrapped in a wink of sensual amber and pink pralines". Even though the smell of the perfume out does all of Britney's past perfumes, the staying power just doesn't do it for me. The smell disappears fairly quickly unfortunately. The scent is available in fifty and one hundred ml. The perfume, in my opinion is very typically celebrity, with a n aim towards the younger generations. However the packaging and the bottle was something that impressed me quite a bit. The bottle is very simple and elegant. It kind of like a cube made out of triangles. It is not tacky in anyway, no crystal , rhinestones or bright colours it is a soft mint instead.
I bought this without smelling it first - which was a big mistake!
I love all of Britney's scents but I dislike this one. The perfume comes in a strange looking bottle that always falls onto it's side and never sits up properly. This is a little annoying. Also, the colour of the perfume (well, the bottle) is an awful lime green colour, ew!
The perfume is quite a warm fragrance. It is perhaps her most warm fragrance and it is a little spicy too. The first time you spray it it smells okay - although I wasn't completely won over. It smells quite fresh and fruity at first, however this fresh and fruity effect doesn't last long! The perfume soon wears off and you're left with an awful spicy smell that smells quite unpleasant. I know this sounds cruel - sorry Britney - but it actually smells "off", it just doesn't smell right. It doesn't settle right either as most perfumes are at their best when they settle. However, this one just smells "off" within an hour or so. It smells a little musky but apart from that it doesn't really smell of anything and the notes don't come together very well. They don't compliment each other at all. It just smells like a mixture of notes that have been thrown together with little thought...
I think Britney has combined the wrong mix of notes here. The perfume just smells very weak and poor, it smells like something you would buy from the pound shop!
I wouldn't recommend this scent - sorry Britney!
I happened to stumble across this perfume for £10 for 100ml just over a year ago, and still have some left as it is not my main perfume. However, this perfume does go along way, and I feel that applying it in the money you can still smell it on your clothes at the end of the day, which is great.
The bottle --> What intrigued me about this product to begin with is the shape of the bottle. It is a triangular shape, which has 3 faces to it, and stands on a small square base (which often tips over if you don't stand it up correctly!) The shade is a light green colour, slightly darker at the bottom than at the top. The top is a clear trigular shape lid.
The cost --> As this perfume has been around for over 3 years now, the cost has come down significantly. Especially because it isn't a top end perfume, you can expect to pick a 30ml for about £10, 50ml for about £18 and £100ml for about £28, but Boots often have deals on the largest amounts so it might sometimes be around £15. Looking round on the internet for somewhere that offers cheap delivery is also often the cheapest way to buy perfumes.
The fragrance --> When I first smelt this perfume it reminded me of Euphoria Clavin Klein - but a cheaper verion. It isn't overpowering like some fragrances can be, but youthful and sophisticated instead. There is quite a blend or aromas in the perfume, ranging from guava pulp, tangerine, honeysuckle and amber - so a lot of scents to get your head around! Perfume is hard to describe, everybody is unique for this and so I would recommened popping to the Perfume shop or somewhere to get a sample of it first. It is quite warm and sensual perfume, and I have had people asking me what fragrance I'm wearing because they like it themselves - which is a great compliment. People are often surprised it is a Britney Spears perfume, because the quality of it sounds like it should be more expensive.
I do really like this perfume, the fragrance is spot on, the bottle looks gorgeous and different and it really isn't too expensive for those occasions when you don't want to use your best one! So a great 'back up' perfume.
I bought Britney Spears "believe" after smelling one of Britney's fragrances on my friend and liking it, and after happening to stumble across this perfume at a decent price in my local supermarket. Britney Spears' Believe perfume is her 3rd perfume, and can easily be bought for under £20 for a 100ml bottle.
The scent is really warm and feminine, as it successfully blends fruity and floral notes. Honeysuckle, tangerine and amber are the predominant scents in this perfume and they really do work well together. I think this is an excellent, feminine fragrance and it is perfect considering the cost for every day wear. It's really fresh and I was pleasantly surprised to find out how much I liked this perfume!
I was also impressed with the perfume's packaging. The perfume comes in a quirky glass bottle, which is pretty much a combination of pyramids and triangles. It's really nice to look at, and looks like the bottle of a perfume which is more expensive than this actually is. I would definitely buy this perfume again and would recommend it to others looking for a good quality and good value for money perfume.
BELIEVE opens with a sweetly, fruity burst of guava pulp and tangerine. Sweet, but not sickly sweet, witha sharp, tangy undertone. It's not as overpowering in it's sweetness as FANTASY, IN CONTROL or MIDNIGHT FANTASY.
It's the middle notes of honeysuckle and linden blossom that make BELIEVE stand out from the current tidal wave of 'sweet shop' fragrances that have been cropping up with alarming frequency. The middle notes lend a 'grown up' feel, as the sweetness in the scent calms down.
The base notes of patchouli, amber and pink pralines lend comforting warmth and depth, minus the sugar rush I was expecting.
While BELIEVE may just be the latest in a long line of sweet fruity/floral, it knows where to draw the line between pleasantly 'come closer' sweet and 'child's first perfume' syrupy sensory overload. BELIEVE is Britney's most wearable fragrance that grown women can easily wear without embarrassment.
I am a fan of Britney Spears perfumes. I think this one is more mature but still has that nice sweetness scent like the other Britney perfumes. I would highly recommend this if you like sweet scents. It is not over powering sweet and lasts all day. The price of the perfume is also very reasonable. I have recommended this to several friends and they are going to buy it. The design of the bottle is also fashionable and trendy. A new look for the Britney perfumes.
I'm a huge fan of the Britney collection and I have them all.
The 'Believe' perfume is not one of the best, but it is still a nice perfume to have.
The bottle is rather plain and unattractive, however the smell is nice and strong so therefore you only need a little at a time, making the bottle last longer.
Once you have applied the perfume, it may seem quite over-bearing, but if you wait five minutes to give it time to adjust to the air then it becomes much more pleasent.
It smells quite musky and is not as feminine as others in the collection, for example 'Fantasy' but in my opinion it is still a lovely scent and sit's amongst my favourites on my window sill.
You can buy the perfume in 2 different sized bottles and you can also buy it in lovely gift sets which make great presents.
I bought this at the airport. Being in the fragrance department, naturally the scent of this perfume would mix around others and at first, it DID smell lovely. However, when I arrived home, it was over powering and too strong.
The smell smells like medicine of some kind and also reminded me of candy from a candy store. However, saying that - the design of the bottle and packaging are very inspiring indeed.
Sorry to say but this perfume is a let down compared to other perfumes on the market and Britney's other perfumes. In my opinion, the best of her perfumes is In Control or Curious.
Please stay away from this perfume, I guess if you must - it can be tolerated but at a distance and also it would be useful if the smell wears off a little bit at first, otherwise - it will linger and cling to you for a very long time. I don't think this would attract too nicely. I don't recommend this. I bought this for about £20 so that's £20 down the drain. It's decent but you should buy another fragrance instead!!!
I received this set for Christmas but have only worn the perfume sparingly, often only if it was at hand. The smell is quite sharp and very sickly, almost sour. It's quite hard hitting and does last a long time, so needs only a small spray. When wearing the fragrance, it can catch your attention throughout the day as it's quite pungent. Lots of spice and vanilla, it may appeal to some but for me it's too heavy. I wouldn't recommend for fans of flowery, fresh scents.
I do however love the bottle. It's rare for a soft green colour in a perfume and the bottle is angled, like a diamond. It can sit any way on any side. I like how the Britney Spears logo is very subtle and small, quite classy really! The flaw is that the tip comes off very easily, it sits with not grip and can just flick off. This causes problems for travel, so as I said I use it sparingly.
I actually received this perfume in one of those mini sample sprays a while ago, and came across it recently lurking in the bottom of one of my make-up boxes. I do own a Kate Moss Eau de Toilette, but in general celebrity perfumes are not really my thing, so this isn't something I would have chosen to buy for myself.
For me one of the most important things about a perfume is the bottle. I love beautiful perfume bottles, but with this one the only thing I have to go from is the picture above. For a start I don't really understand how it stands up, but either way going from the picture I'm not very keen on it - it just doesn't jump out at me if you know what I mean?
The top notes of this perfume (the scent you can smell when you first spray it) are supposed to be 'guava pulp' and tangerine. Indeed it does have a very fruity scent when first sprayed and it also has quite a sharpness to it, which is a little bit too much for me, and I think makes it smell a bit chemical and sickly.
The scent settles onto the skin quite quickly and the middle notes start to come out. The middle notes of this scent are supposed to be honeysuckle and lindam blossom. Now to be honest, I can't really smell either of these, there is a slight floral scent to the perfume overall, but it's quite a dark musky scent, and the light, feminine and floral middle notes I am promised in the products description never seem to materialise.
As the scent becomes completely settled onto the skin you are left with a very deep, musky scent, and the amber really begins to come out. The base notes also contain patchouli and I can smell a hint of patchouli in here, but really it's the amber which is really dominant here, giving a very warm and quite deep scent.
I found the staying power of the perfume was quite good and it did last several hours before requiring re-application.
A 30ml bottle of this perfume costs £20 from Boots, and the 50ml bottle costs £24.47 which is pretty reasonable if you like the scent.
Overall, I thought the scent was OK, but a little too deep and heavy for my liking. I also thought as this was a little bit heavy it would be more suited to wear at night time. I would have assumed that the target market for a Britney scent would be teenagers and young women, so would have expected something a little fresher, lighter and more feminine than this was. This wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either and there was nothing special enough about it for me to consider buying it again.
Believe is the 3rd Britney Spears perfume I have purchased and like the previous two, I wasn't disappointed. I'm always impressed with the packaging that Britney's perfumes are sold in, this one being a white box with pink and green shiny circles on. The perfume is visually appealing in a slightly triangluar green tinted glass bottle with sharp-ish edges and corners, unlike the previous two. The actual scent is sharper than I expected at first but it's grown on me and I couldn't live without it now. Its reasonably long lasting and a few sprays will last most of the day, although I do need to respray if I want to wear it at night as well. Its a lot less girly than others, such as Fantasy and I feel this makes it more versatile and suitable for a wider range of people. This might be my favourite of the 3 as its the one all my friends prefer and I get compliments on it often. Even my guy friends like it!
