My Mum bought me this perfume a couple of years back for Christmas. It came with a gold handbag. The perfume is available to buy in various different sizes. You can purchase the perfume in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles. The bottle itself is horrible. It looks really cheap and tacky and this is disappointing as previous bottles in Britney's range have been stunning. The bottle is black and clear and the squares are blocks of coloured plastic jutting out of the bottle. This makes the bottle a little awkward to grasp and it has actually slipped out of my hand before...luckily onto the bed!
What does it smell like? Well it's a fruity floral with musky notes perhaps suited to older Britney fans. It's nowhere near as sweet as her previous efforts. The perfume contains top notes of citruses, glittery red bouquet and fragrant petals. Initially the perfume smells very strong and fresh and you are immediately hit by the floral notes. It's still quite sweet but I would say it's more floral than sweet. It does settle well though and the middle and base notes finish the perfume off well. The perfume also contains notes of amber, soft vanilla and creamy sandalwood. You can detect the sandalwood once the perfume has settled. It smells nice and lasts well on the skin.
Overall this is a nice perfume. It's not at all sickly and it lasts ages as you only need a couple of sprays to last you all day. It's pretty cheap to buy (the 30ml bottle is only £6.99 on Amazon.co.uk) and it's available to buy in most popular retailers.
I just wish the bottle would have been designed differently. It's very awkward and clumsy and it makes the perfume look cheap. It doesn't smell cheap though so try and look past the awful bottle!
Cheap to buy so grab a tester and see if it's for you.
Im not necessary a big fan of Britney spears but I somehow end up with her perfumes for birthday or Christmas presents. I don't know exactly how many perfumes are out in the range but I have tried about 10 different ones.
This is one of my favourite perfume bottles out of the Britney spears range. The glass bottle is covered with black and white stones.I think the colour choice makes it look more sophisticated than the light blue and pink one that is out .
**Price, bottle size and where to get **
This comes in 30ml,50ml and 100ml. Perfume is currently on offer on amazon with prices starting at £7.43 for the 30ml and going up to £14.70 for the 100ml. I think mine would have cost more as it was a lot newer out when I got it so under £15 for 100ml is such a bargain!!
At first you are hit with a citrus and fruit smell which leads into a more flowery scent. The scents I can pick out most are orange and pear then jasmine with flowers. I don't know enough about flowers to say which ones. Looking online it mentions tuberose, peony and gardenia.
The base notes in this are amber, soft vanilla and creamy sandalwood. Vanilla and sandalwood seem to feature quite a lot on perfumes I like so its good that these are the more lingering parts of the scent.
This would work for day or evening wear however I would class it as a little light for just evening wear. ( fine if going from work to out and you don't have time to shower and change but not one I would pick for just going out)
Overall I think the current price is fantastic! I think because of the name a lot of people would be put off buying this or think that the perfume is predominantly aimed at the younger age group which isn't the case. As I say to people how much control do you think celebrities even have over the perfume especially *stars* like Britney spears I mean Im sure she at least smells it before its finalised but what else..
I love Britney Spears' perfume I'm not ashamed but like to keep it quiet, it's my 'daughter' who wears her stuff........
I was out shopping last week with my birthday money still burning a hole in my pocket when I saw some rather large and rather cheap perfumes on sale in TK Maxx. 100ml bottle of Britney's 'Cosmic Radiance' and 'Radiance' were being sold off for just £10 each (retail £38). I bought myself both 'ahem' I mean both for my 'daughter'.
I chose to 'try' Cosmic Radiance first. This perfume comes in dark pink box with black and white gem stone swirls on it and the name of the perfume in gold. The box is nice but young looking- it is aimed at girls though. It was all sealed up so not only could I not smell it before buying it I couldn't see the bottle either. On opening the packaging I was a little disappointed with the shape and design of the bottle- but never judge a book by it's cover. It's a rectangular thick glass with horrible white and black glass squares and diamond shapes all over it making it awkward to hold. The lid is black with a bright pink spray nozzle, it's not really a nice contrast.
I haven't a clue about 'notes' so I've searched the internet and this is what I found:
Golden Gardenia, Night Blooming Jasmine, Tuberose Flower, Peony Petals
Mandarin, Lychee, Dewey Pear
Creamy Amber, Sultry Sandalwood, Liquid Vanilla, Sensual Musk
No still haven't got a clue!! can't pick many of them out!
When I first apply there isn't much scent, but within seconds I'm hit with a strong alcohol blast then almost immediately after a very strong floral smell. This surprised me as I wasn't expecting a floral fragrance going by the name and the look of the bottle. I can definitely smell the gardenia it's smells very much like another perfume that I can't quite place, it might be the Chanel that my mum wore years ago.
Initially the floral smell is very powerful and sickly, the first time I wore it I put too much on I had to shower and get changed. Subsequently I've been more frugal with it and have managed to bear it. Within about an hour the floral dies down a bit but the sweetness remains with a faint musty musk coming through. It gets more musky as it wears on. I can't smell vanilla, mandarin or dewey pear which is a shame.
This is a strange perfume after being so very strong it totally disappears within a few hours- the longevity is poor. I've just smelt yesterdays jumper and there isn't so much as a faint scent which I normally get when I've worn perfume.
I can't decide whether I like it or not. It's not too young for me, because it smells 'old' it would be far to heavy for my daughter I think.
No I don't like it, it's far too flowery for me. The initial scent is enough to send me 'cosmic'. I can't hardly detect anything other than a alcoholic floral scent until it's barely detectable then it smells like musk talc- which I don't like- but I don't hate it and will persevere until the end.
2 stars from me
I'm quite a fan of the Britney Spears perfumes, well I say that, basically I enjoy the fantasy and midnight fantasy. This I believe came out in August 2011, and I received this as part of a gift set in Christmas 2011. I had sprayed the scent and liked it at the time hence why I must have mentioned it, however it's not been used a lot, and since coming to write this review, I now know why. It appears there was a Radiance perfume brought out in September 2010, so this cosmic addition is spin off to it.
£17.99 - 50ml - Cheap smells
£21.99 - 30ml perfume & purse gift set - Superdrug
I have just sprayed this to get the scent details for the review, and I'm really shocked at the results. Normally I just spray a perfume and go without thinking about it; however because I was really trying to sniff out all the notes in the scent I realised something interesting. In my opinion this perfume has no scent to it; you may think this can't be true but I just don't GET anything from it. I'll try and describe this best I get, you know when you initially spray a perfume and instead of getting the scent straight away you tend to get a bland smell, like the alcohol or chemicals within the perfume. Well this perfume kind of just permanently smells like this, it reminds me of a cheap perfume you'd buy for £1 or 2, and it just has no scent to it, it's very bland. I'll include its staying power in this section also, as well I don't mean to be completely negative but; there isn't one. The perfume dissolves straight away, it doesn't last at all, it's only when I get my hand right up to my nose can I smell something (which is very bland)
The spray doesn't distribute the perfume in a great manner I don't feel. Personally I find it just kind of falls out the spray nozzle and leaves your hand feeling quite wet. Most perfumes really distribute the spray and thus you can't feel it going onto the skin. Also another detail to point out is the bottle, it's not great; I find it's quite tacky. Because it's got the same branding as the original radiance it's followed suit with the same style of bottle, however this one has black and white style 'gem's on it. Personally the whole thing looks as though there's not much thought or style gone into it.
The perfume really isn't for me, and I personally wouldn't recommend it. Scents I don't like I normally still recommend for younger girls, however I think this isn't to be bought at all. It's just a waste of money in my opinion sadly, and it's just another perfume which has been added to the chain which has already been realised and it's as if no thought as gone into it unfortunately.
My sister used to be a huge fan of Britney Spears' music, but now she started to collect perfums and their bottles in all shapes and sizes. So when I saw this, I decided it was a must and I brought it for her for her birthday as I couldn't go wrong.
This perfum bottle has a unique look to it. The black squares an rectangles mixed with the clear rectangles, squares and ovals makes it have a mystery image and it keeps you guessing whatthe fragrance inside might actually be.
-How it smells-
This contains the fragrance of citrus fruit but clashed with delicate floral flowers. It smells quite nice actually, and it's something uite different on the current market.
A light doze will do for during the day or spritz a little heavier for it to last while you're partying throught out the night.
-Where to buy-
You can buy this fragrance from Boots at £23.00 for 30ml or £29.00 for 50ml which I didn't think was a quite bad price really to say it's a celebrity fragrance. You can also buy this product with your Boots advantage card points to treat yourself if you're short on cash.
This product is made in France.
Britney Spears has released many perfumes and Cosmic Radiance is her latest. It is the sister perfume of "Radiance". I have both the perfumes as I am a bit of a sucker for Britney Spears perfumes.
Firstly, the bottle is identical in syle to its predecessor aside from the colours. The bottle for Comic Radiance is a chunky square shaped bottle covered in large black and white gems. It is very pretty and gives off a bit of a 1960's feel. The lid is a large square black gem stone which when removed reveals a pink squirter.
The perfume is made up of the following scent notes: (top notes) Mandarin, Lychee, Pear, (middle notes) Gardenia, Night Blooming Jasmine, Tuberose, Peony and (base notes) Amber, Sandlewood and Vanilla. Given the top notes, I was expecting this perfume to be one of Britney Spear's fruitier perfumes however, I was most surprised to find that after an initial burst of pear when first sprayed the middle floral notes are the most prominent. The jasmine is the strongest of the notes intwined with a gentle gardenia. As the perfume settles the floral notes tone down and become alot sweeter and gentle and the sandlewood, amber and vanilla notes show themselves. These notes make the perfume very sweet and they are notes I can smell for the remainder of the time I wear the perfume. It becomes a very sweet, gentle, girly perfume.
Given that this is a celebrity perfume, it is very long lasting - I never have to reapply until after 5-6 hours wear. It remains a strong scent and it gives off a summery feel to it. I purchased this perfume in November and it felt odd to wear it at that time as the scent is so floral and does remind you of the summer.
Cosmic Radiance is a very girly perfume - a nice one to wear if you are going out for the day shopping or on a girly night out or even for a day out with family but it isn't a sophisticated perfume. It is more of an everyday perfume.
It is a nice perfume but I did feel unexcited by it. It felt a little bit same old and I really wanted something new from Britney Spears' range. However, I picked it up for £12.99 for a 30ml bottle and clutch bag so I feel it was definately worth the money but I wouldn't pay more than that for it.
Cosmic Radiance is a celebrity fragrance by Britney Spears, I have the 100ml bottle which looks very attractive in its chunky glass bottle with large gemstones in a monochrome design for quite a 60s appearance.
The perfume is very strong when first sprayed and has a very floral opening, it's not at all subtle and hovers around me when I wear it so the perfume isn't suitable for all occasions. I think it's best for evening wear but to be honest I prefer to use one of my classier perfumes when going out with my husband. It would be nice to use it on a girls night out or to make a statement at a coffee morning, I will wear it to work if I'm visiting one of my younger ladies but am very aware that this is the type of perfume that some of my older clients would not appreciate.
Top Notes: Mandarin, Lychee and Pear.
It's odd that the perfume smells so floral when it has such fruity top notes, I can detect the citrus mandarin but this doesn't come through as a top note as I've worn the perfume for some time before anything other than a strong jasmine fragrance comes through.
Middle Notes: Gardenia, Night Blooming Jasmine, Tuberose and Peoney
These are the true top notes of Cosmic Radiance as I've said above, the jasmine is the only one I can smell and it's very synthetic but very nice. I think the other florals mix with the lychee and pear as the mix is a pleasant one and gives the perfume a youthful attitude.
Base Notes: Amber, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk
The vanilla is the main lingering fragrance of Cosmic Radiance and this is very sweet and girly, the amber and sandalwood are there as a soft woody base and this tones the vanilla slightly to create a long lasting warm sweetness.
I think this is a nice perfume, there are others I prefer but sometimes I'll spray Cosmic Radiance for a change. I'm always pleased with how long the perfume lasts, you don't need to use too much to give you a six hour minimum fragrance and it can be smelled on clothing for even longer than this.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I received this perfume as a gift this Christmas and I love it.
The perfume is a fruity floral and it smells quite fresh and tropical when you first spray it. The bottle looks a bit tacky and some people may be put off with the "Britney Spears" logo that is presented on the side of the bottle itself. However, the bottle may look youthful but the perfume is aimed at the more mature woman market (over 20s I would say). Why do I say that? Well, the perfume is very fresh and light but once it has settled it smells quite floral, mature florals to be exact.
The perfume contains gorgeous floral notes that come together to deliver a gorgeous scent for women. They compliment each other very well indeed and the perfume is quite long lasting. I spray it a few times in the morning before I go to work (for a nine hour shift) and I can still smell it on me when I get home. I would describe the scent as a daytime scent, mainly because it is so fresh and light. I suppose you could use it as an evening scent but I think "Midnight Fantasy" is the best evening scent that Britney Spears has came out with.
This is a nice scent and I would recommend it. You can buy it either as a single bottle or as a gift set. Just don't be put off by the tacky looking bottle!
COSMIC RADIANCE is best described as a fruity/floral is a flanker to 2010's Radiance. No word on whether this year's version is a limited edition or not.
It is inspired by a star which twinkles brighter than all other stars, a star of a distant galaxy, far away from this world.

COSMIC RADIANCE is fruity/sweet on first application, but it's sweet in a fresh and zingy way, so the perfume doesn't have that cloying, sugary boiled sweet effect that a lot of similar perfumes have. I can separate the mandarin, but the pear is the star here and it has the effect of watering the other notes down. I can't detect any litchi, which is a bit disappointing. The initial fruity blast burns down with ten minutes, but some of the zesty sweetness lingers throughout the fragrance, so maybe they added some pear notes in the heart and base of the fragrance too?
The floral notes are very similar to Britney's first perfume Curious. In fact, after looking up the official scents notes for both perfumes I can say that they're more or less the same. The gardenia is the strongest floral on my skin, followed by the jasmine. I could detect a hint of tuberose, but it's only a faint, short-lived breeze and it quickly becomes lost under the gardenia and jasmine. I was slightly disappointed again though, as I was not able to detect any of the peony. I'm not a gardenia lover so find the first hour or so of wear a little bit 'ho hum'.
The gardenia note lingers throughout the base, but musk soon over takes it. The musk note is light and clean, so it gives the perfume a sense of airiness. I usually find musky fragrances too heavy, but this is nice and it doesn't suffocate me. The vanilla and sandalwood combine to provide the first real shot of sweetness to the perfume after an hour or so, so the fragrance warms up for the reminder of its, erm, life.

The faux crystal bottle is extremely tacky - but in a fun way.
I also love the black and clear colours used in the COSMIC RADIANCE bottle design, it's much more striking and stands out from the blue and pink design used for the bottle of the original Radiance. The colours used also make the perfume look more adult in comparison.

When, where and for how long?

The staying power is better then the original Radiance - probably because this is more focused on the florals, rather then the fruits. I can still smell it at the end of the day, a pleasant surprise - I was expecting something along the lines of Radiance's five hour average.
The fruit notes water the white florals in COSMIC RADIANCE down enough for daytime, so you won't overwhelm your colleagues and, because of the good lasting power, you won't need to top it up at work. However, for me, the stronger florals make me tend to think of it as night wear.
Being lightly fruity and using fresh, white florals mean that I'd actually class this as being better suited to spring/summer. But, then again, it does give me a icy, energizing jolt, so it can make a great pick-me-up whenever I do wear it for work days in autumn/winter.

Worth a spritz?
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
I'd describe COSMIC RADIANCE best in one sentence as being a blend of the fruity freshness of the original Radiance and the surprisingly sophisticated white florals found in Curious. It's not a carbon copy though; COSMIC RADIANCE leans strongly towards floral with lighter fruit notes, whilst the original Radiance is more fruity than floral, so this is less sweet and more 'adult' then the original. Even though the bottle is bejewelled and says 'Britney Spears', the fragrance inside is something that I'd think of as for the over 21 crowd.
Although I am enjoying my bottle and prefer the more developed notes found in this over those in the original Radiance, this isn't unique enough for me to buy for myself [it was a birthday gift]. The florals are too similar to those found in Curious and the fresh fruits have the same effect as Radiance, so the overall effect of COSMIC RADIANCE is "been there, done that", immediately placing the notes used here to previous releases isn't a great sign and I think that I'm going to become bored with COSMIC RADIANCE before too long.
It is blended very well, lasts well on skin, is surprisingly sophisticated, is easy to find in shops and is very affordable, so if you do enjoy perfumes that are based around white florals [particularly gardenia] then I'd recommend this to you. If you're looking for a gift for younger Britney fans, I'd recommend the original Radiance.
