Advantages: Girly, floral scent with some interesting twists

Disadvantages: Potentially too sweet for some

Burberry Brit is a sweet, girly scent which works well in the spring. When first sprayed it has quite a zesty/citrusy overtone to it, which soon settles down into a richer and more mellow scent. Be advised that it's a very, very sweet scent, and is probably not one to spray if you're then going to be sitting in an enclosed space on a hot day (headaches all round!). Overall the notes are a citrus overtone, with a base note that reminds me very much of marzipan and vanilla. You know that short poem that describes little girls as being made of "sugar and spice and all things nice?" Well, this perfume is in that vein.

I wear it as a daytime scent (my personal feeling is that it's not a sexy enough scent to be used for evening wear) and think that it's probably best suited to springtime - a fresh, damp spring day would probably play up the interesting citrusy notes more than the summer, which has this perfume mellowing almost straight away into the marzipan/vanilla notes. It's quite a strong and lasting scent, which is good if your main issue with perfumes is that they don't stick.

The perfume was created in 2004 by Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, and has won a Fifi award. It's widely available in most department stores, Boots, Superdrug and the like - which is good for ease of purchase but perhaps not so good if you favour a more unique scent. The price point is fairly standard - around £25 for the 50ml eau de toilette, but you can get it much cheaper online.
