I have been staying at my mum's for the last few days, and in the kitchen (next to the hideous Britney Spear's perfume!) is a 30ml bottle of Week end by Burberry (yes, it does have a space between the words... hmm does that mean its a copy?! Surely not though since my mum only buys from places like Asda or Superdrug...). I have been trying on this perfume for a couple of days now, so feel qualified to comment on it:
It is a small bottle, and quite difficult to spray even though there is still half a cm or so left in the bottle. Around the bottom part of the frosted effect glass bottle is a white hash/check-type design with Week end and Burberry London also printed in white. As you can tell, while it's not an ugly thing, the bottle has nothing special about it, and if I saw it in the shop I would purchase it for myself, but not as a gift.
I can't quite put my finger on what the smell reminds me of, I think because it's quite distinctive; it has a rich, warm scent, however not as strong as I would like. I would say that the richness and the warmth of it makes it more suitable for cooler temperatures rather than summer days. The citrus notes, which can be noticed gives it some hint of freshness which, to me, makes it suitable for during the day, as well as in the evening.
The scent transforms a lot from the first spray, which releases the rich earthy floral and woody scents, and then sweetening with the heat of the skin to give it a feminine punch. This was the disappointment for me, because the scent has a lovely richness, but then the sweetness makes it too sickly and youthful for my liking.
Personally, I would not wear this on hot days because the sweetness and the warmth of it makes it quite stuffy, and in the summer I prefer using jasmine oils which are strong yet refreshing, as well as lasting a long time. Speaking of duration, after a couple of hours I am still perfumed with the Burberry week end, making it a suitable choice for busy days when you might not have the time to freshen up throughout.
For your reference I have included the details taken from the Burberry webpage for the Week end:
* A sheer fragrance with top notes of tangerine, tree sap and Reseda plant
* Delicate floral heart notes of wild rose, peach blossom, iris and hyacinth, invigorated by a subtle splash of nectarine
* The low notes of cedar wood and sandalwood add depth for a relaxed and fresh scent
From about £12.75 in Boots for 30ml, I think it's a pretty decent purchase, since it would last quite a while, and would make a nice addition to your main perfumes just "as something different" which you could use every now and then.
I first smelt Burberry Weekend while I was shopping at Bluewater in the perfume shop. I didn't buy it because I was Christmas shopping and didn't have the money spare. I never forgot the smell though and later bought in on eBay.
The packaging is quite summary. It is pale yellow with the Burberry hatching across the box in white. Burberry Weekend is written across the front of the box in white italic writing. The bottle is almost dome shaped but with a flat bottom. The glass is frosted but still see through which is useful when you want to know how much is left. The lid is silver and has the Burberry logo (the man and horse) printed on the top of the lid, and Burberry is printed around the side of the lid. The Burberry hatching runs around the outside of the bottle in white and Burberry weekend is written in white italic writing at the front of the bottle.
The actual perfume is light yellow in colour so fits in very nicely with the packaging theme of light yellow.
I bought my first ever bottle of eBay and got a 50ml bottle for £4.99 which I was very impressed with! Normally though, you will look to pay around £13.49 for 30ml, £16.99 for a 50ml bottle and £20.99 for a 100ml bottle. I think the price is fairly reasonable compared to some perfumes on the market.
What Does It Smell Like?
I love this perfume! It is very light and not at all overpowering. Having said that, you can definitely smell it on someone. I think it is a very clean smell but without smelling clinical, it's just very refreshing.
According to the Burberry website, this perfume includes ingredients such as Tangerine, Sape Greeness, Reseda Greeness, Blue Hyacinth, Red Cyclamen, Nectarine, Iris, Wild Rose, Cedar Wood, Musk and Sandalwood.
Does The Smell Last
For the 1st 3-4 hours after first applying this perfume you can still smell it on yourself although it won't be half as strong as it was when you first put it on. By the end of the day, the smell has near enough faded to nothing which is the only downfall to this perfume. I spray the perfume onto my skin, my clothes and my hair and the smells seems to cling better to my clothes and even better to my hair for some reason as I can often smell it on my hair but when I smelt my wrist, there is no smell there!
This is a fresh and summary fragrance which is very feminine! It would be great to wear for any occasion although I think it works really well on a sunny day as it's a light fragrance that just sits nicely in the background and never becomes too overpowering. My only complaint is that the smell doesn't last as long as some of my other perfume so it does tend to go quicker than the rest as you use more to try and make the scent last longer!
I was first introduced to Burberry Weekend by a friend of mine, and I have to say it's really the only perfume I have that I will use and then go on to rebuy again and again, at that price you can afford to use it again and again. I believe that its a good all round scent that can be used for all seasons and can be used frequently throughout the day without it becoming too overpowering or pungent that's really only if you need it! I find this fragrance lasts all day if applied to clothing, and there's nothing more than I like than the waft of the scent as I move around during the day.
The scent is very feminine and rich, and very floral. I would say that this product is great value for money, it's long lasting staying on your clothes all day, the scent translates well from the bottle to application (basically meaning that the scent doesn't really bruise, become diluted or change). The bottle itself is practical and durable, can survive the knocks or bumps that can come from daily use or being carried around in a bag, or even dropped a few times. The only fault I can say with the design is that when you reach the bottom of the bottle, with a fair amount left, it's often quite hard to get the spray to work! But a few shakes and a little patience make all the difference in the world I've found.
This is a perfume that I was absolutely addicted to when I was in my early teenage years. Me and my friends used to all wear this perfume whilst we were at school. I thought it smelled delicious, and after some years, I still do!
The smell of the perfume is quite strong but not overpowering. There is some sort of scent in the perfume which prevents it from being too harsh on the nose. There is almost a honey scent which seems to help neutralise the more tangy scents. There is no direct smell that I can compare it to, but it does smell very flowery, fruity and feminine. As soon as you spray the perfume, you will be surrounded by floral gorgeousness.
The perfume has a really distinctive smell and really lasts ALL day. I can smell this perfume on clothes, scarves etc. even days after I've sprayed it. You can really make it your signature scent if you like this perfume. Everybody will smell it and I always receieved loads of compliments when I wore it.
The bottle is nice and chic as well. The glass part for the perfume is quite short but wide. It looks a lot smaller than it is. There is also a big silver lid on top with the Burberry logo embossed all over it. The lid really makes it look classic and chic. The perfume itself is a yellow colour; similar to Burberry's classic print. It is simply a perfume which represents everything that Burberry stands for.
In terms of the price, I know that Burberry weekend is not that expensive. I am always seeing this perfume on offer in Perfume Shop and other stores. When it is not on offer, I know you can get 100ml for about £30 full price; which is definately not bad for such a big bottle!
I have had this perfume sat on my dresser for a while now after being given it by my mother in law who has such an extensive perfume collection that she has to keep the majority of them in a chest at the end of her bed. I have tried some Burberry perfumes before such as Burberry Touch and thought them ok but I have never been blown away by their fragrances.
Burberry Weekend comes in short, cylindrical, frosted glass bottle with a silver lid. Around the side of the bottle is the name of the brand (Burberry) and the name of the perfume written in silver writing along with the classic Burberry pattern. On the top of the lid is the Burberry logo and again the name Burberry is printed around the side of the lid. To spray the perfume all you need to do is remove the lid and press down very gently on the spray button (I must find out the technical name for it).
This is a very strong scented perfume that gives off aromas of citrusy fruits initially that then settles into a more floral fragrance that is quite musky. In my opinion this perfume is overpoweringly strong, you can smell it for ages after only squirting a small amount onto your wrists, so if this is a scent you like you would only need to use a small amount and therefore it could last you quite well. I definitely think this is more of an evening perfume, it seems a bit too 'in your face' to be worn in the daytime.
This is not a perfume that I like, it is too strong for me and the scent reminds me of the perfumes my Grandma used to wear when I was a little girl (although this is not a bad thing, it's just not what I look for in a perfume). But my mum really likes it and the scent is very similar to some of her perfumes so maybe it is an acquired taste that seems to be more favourable among more mature ladies, although having said that I do have a couple of friends that like this perfume.
If this is something you like then you can currently pick up a 30ml bottle from boots for only £15.30. I personal would purchase this perfume but we are all different and if this is a fragrance you love then I think £15.30 is a bargain!
I have always like the smell of Burberry perfumes so when I received Burberry Weekend one Christmas I was sure that this one would be up to the usual standard
Burberry Weekend comes in quite a short fat bottle made of thick slightly frosted glass, although the glass is transparent enough for you to see the dark yellow/ golden coloured perfume inside The bottle is rounded in shade, being wider at the bottom and narrowing towards the top. Around the bottom of the bottle are the Burberry white squares printed on the bottle, above this are the words Burberry London again written in white lettering. The bottle has a silver coloured lid with the word Burberry written around the rim and the Burberry logo imprinted in the top which is a man and a horse. I personally think the bottle is quite stylish and is attractive enough to have standing out. The bottle from what I remember came in a yellow box with the Burberry squares around the top and bottom with the words Burberry London written across the middle. I cannot remember the exactl detail of the box as this was thrown out more or less straight away.
As I said the perfume is dark yellow/ gold in colour. The smell is quite a difficult one to describe, when sniffing it I cannot smell one particular fragrance, however it is described as a combination of essence of citrus with a rich floral heart and a musky base. Personally I would not describe this as a floral smelling perfume, neither can I smell any hint of citrus, however I do have to agree that this is quite a musky perfume. The initially fragrance can come across as quite harsh when first sprayed however this soon tones down to leave a more delicate musk scent. The fragrance can be quite strong and would be overpowering if too much was used at once, it is certainly a case of a little goes a long way. The spray button on the top means that you can spray a light mist over yourself without applying too much.
I would definatly agree with the name of perfume in that is a fragrance more suited to weekend or evening wear. I have worn this perfume for work before but with its strong musky scent I think it is more suited to evening/ weekend wear. The strong fragrance also means that it lasts for a very long time, a small amount of Burberry Weekend would without a doubt last all evening without fading, on the occasions that I have worn this fragrance in the day time the smell has last all day and well into the evening, after nights out I can still smell a hint of it on me the next day, this makes the perfume very long lasting and very economical.
As I was bought this perfume as a present I am unsure of the exact price of it however I do know that it can be purchased in shops such as Boots, Superdrug and various online shops. A 100ml bottle of Burberry Weekend can be bought for £26.59 at www.cheapsmells.com
Overall I have been very impressed with this perfume, it has a lovely feminine fragrance and is something a little bit different to my usual perfumes. It is certainly one I would recommend.
Do not need much at once making it long lasting
Can be bought at a reasonable price
For me none, but the fragrance may be a little too harsh for some peoples tastes, I find the hasrness does wear off quickly leaving a lovely musky fragrance which lasts all day.
I won the Burberry: Weekend, Eau de Toilette at an arcade recently and was dubious about how it would smell. The packaging is quite plain and does not scream out that it will be a great product, but as it was free my girlfriend was quite pleased with it.
Once the box was opened we found that the perfume bottle was quite small compared to the box but the shape of the bottle is very pretty and unique as it is very flat looking and plain which is an advantage.
My girlfriend found upon spraying this perfume that it had a beautiful fresh, sweet smell that is not too overpowering. We both love this perfume.
The perfume would be good to wear on a light summers day with it's cool and fresh characteristics. Overall this is a great perfume which I would have happily paid for if I had not won it.
I am quite fussy with alot of things yet at the same time easy to please. Work that one out!
Perfume is one of these things that I have my favourites and I'll stick to them as I'm fussy yet if you buy me my favourites I'm pleased!
Burberry weekend being one of my top scents.
Coming in a clear glass curved bottle, quite a dainty and attractive bottle if you ask me. You can see the coloured perfume inside being a dark yellow/golden colour. This bottle is nicely presented in a pale yellow box with the Burberry squares all around it. These Burberry squares are also all around the bottom of the bottle itself and in white writing on the side of the bottle is the word 'Weekend'. You can purchase this perfume in many stores including Supermarkets, stores such as Boots, Savers, Bodycare, Superdrug and so on. The perfume comes in 30ml bottles being the smallest, 50ml and the largest 100ml.
To be able to spray this perfume all you need to do is remove the silver lid on top - this lid has the Burberry logo engraved in it. In case you are wondering what the Burberry logo is it is simply a man and a horse - this logo even comes on Burberry clothing.
The spray for me is strong, sometimes overly powerful if sprayed too much so a little really does go along way. It's more of a night perfume in my opinion due to the strength of the fragrance. It's a hard smell to describe apart from the fact that it is strong I can only describe it really to be of an acquired taste, it's sophistocated yet very feminine. I would definitely say it's more of a 'weekend' perfume, a treat to be worn. There isn't one particular smell I can pick out from sniffing this perfume, but whatever it is made with it all rolls into one deep, strong, girly, evening perfume for me.
I'd reccomend this to anybody looking to wear a rich fragranced perfume for a date, a night out or any special occasion. I've had plenty of comments as to what perfume I'm wearing even hours after I've sprayed it and thats not because I've been heavy handed with it either as like I said above - a little does go a long way.
this is definitely one of my favourite perfumes. I actually first smelt it as a friends mum wore it, and so i was a bit reluctant to get it as i was worried it would seem like a very 'old' perfume. However i'm definitely glad that i did. It smells delicious and sweet and really cheers me up when i put it on. Theres a lot of stigma attached to burberry because of chavs wearing it etc, but ignore the name of it, the smell is really nice. The bottle does appear quite small, but really you only need to spritz a tiny bit of it at a time otherwise it could become very overpowering and sickly. I usually wear it when i'm going out shopping or going out for the night as it makes me happy and i have a lot of nice memories from wearing it over the years.
definitely recomended for anyone who likes a sweeter perfume
This is my one of my favourite perfumes ever! i have been buying it now for over 4 years. I love the smell, it reminds me of summer, its very very sweet and summery! I know burberry gets a bad name from chavs buying fake copies although look past this and just think of it as a fragrance and you will love it.
The smell is gorgeous, very girly and fresh! You can spray once in the morning and this will last until the late hours of the night therefore its excellent value for money! It comes in 30ml / 50ml or 100ml bottles.
This reminds me of my friend as this is her smell! lol
The bottle is designed well, very fashionable and looks great on your chest of drawers or bathroom shelf. The lid is silver and has a picture of a knight riding a horse, very stylish!
My friend bought me Burberry Weekend for my birthday about 2 years ago and I have been hooked on it ever since!
I would describe the packaging for Burberry Weekend are being quite summary. The bottle comes in a pale yellow box which is decorated with the Burberry hatching. Across the front of the box Burberry Weekend in white italic writing.
The bottle itself has a circular top, but obviously has a flat bottom. The bottle looks quite chunky and rounded. The glass is frosted white but only slightly so you can still see how much fragrance you have left. The lid to the bottle is silver and has the Burberry logo printed on the very top of it. The famous Burberry hatching runs around the outside of the bottle in white and Burberry Weekend is also written in white italic writing across the bottle.
As I mentioned earlier, this perfume was bought as a gift for me but after having a look online, I have found that Burberry Weekend can be bought for the following prices from www.dmfragrance.co.uk for the following prices: 30ml for £22, 50ml for £32 and 100ml for £46. Like all other designer fragrances, it isn't exactly cheap!
I would describe this perfume as being very girly and feminine. The fragrance is very light and subtle so I think it is suitable to wear for any occasion. Burberry Weekend has the following ingredients Iris, Tangerine, Wild Rose, Sape Greeness, Reseda Greeness, Blue Hyacinth, Red Cyclamen, Nectarine, Cedar Wood, Musk and Sandalwood. I wouldn't say that you can actually pick out a specific ingredient when you smell the perfume but all these ingredients really help to create a fruity, fresh and light scent.
There is a slight downside to the perfume. Although, as mentioned above, it has a beautiful scent, it does not last as long as some of the other perfumes I wear. I think that because this perfume is designed to be fairly girlie and subtle, the scent does fade after around 4-5 hours. With some of my other perfumes, I can apply them in the morning before work and can still smell them at the end of the day but sadly, Burberry Weekend does fade pretty quickly. For some strange reason, I have noticed that the scent tends to last longer when it is sprayed onto my clothes, but fades fairly quickly when I apply it directly to my skin.
I would totally recommend this perfume, and would highly recommend it to any woman who prefers light fragrances. I think this perfume is feminine and would be great for any girly girls. If you prefer heavier musky or woody fragrances, then I would say that this wouldn't be a perfume for you.
Although I feel that this perfume would be suitable for any occasions, I definitely find that I tend to wear this fragrance more in the spring / summer as it really suits my mood at that time of year!
This perfume is my FAVOURITE perfume. My personal opinion of it is its quite classy, perfect for your night out, especially for a date. The packaging is quite boring, not the brightest of colours, if you hadnt smelt it before the design of it is not an eye catching or tempting one so I'm sure you'd only smell this perfume if someone reccomended it. I only started wearing it as I smelt it on my mum before she went out one night. It is quite a strong perfume, so not alot has to be used, you can smell hours later, and so can other people, if you use to much it can give you a bit of a headache as its so strong, I've learnt that now though. I think the main downfall is it is quite a pricey perfume so if your on a low budget & you wanted a nice perfume which lasts you quite a while, this isnt the 1 you want go for, as the bottles are quite tiny for the price you would pay, but if you're going to spoil yourself for your man, a date or a ladies night out .. then definitely go for this one.
Eau De ToilettePerfume For Him Weekend is classified as a sharp, woody, mossy fragrance. This masculine scent possesses a blend of crisp woods and citrus. It is recommended for casual wear.
