Advantages: Popular brand, nice bottle
Disadvantages: Overpoweringly strong
I have had this perfume sat on my dresser for a while now after being given it by my mother in law who has such an extensive perfume collection that she has to keep the majority of them in a chest at the end of her bed. I have tried some Burberry perfumes before such as Burberry Touch and thought them ok but I have never been blown away by their fragrances.
***The Bottle***
Burberry Weekend comes in short, cylindrical, frosted glass bottle with a silver lid. Around the side of the bottle is the name of the brand (Burberry) and the name of the perfume written in silver writing along with the classic Burberry pattern. On the top of the lid is the Burberry logo and again the name Burberry is printed around the side of the lid. To spray the perfume all you need to do is remove the lid and press down very gently on the spray button (I must find out the technical name for it).
***The perfume***
This is a very strong scented perfume that gives off aromas of citrusy fruits initially that then settles into a more floral fragrance that is quite musky. In my opinion this perfume is overpoweringly strong, you can smell it for ages after only squirting a small amount onto your wrists, so if this is a scent you like you would only need to use a small amount and therefore it could last you quite well. I definitely think this is more of an evening perfume, it seems a bit too 'in your face' to be worn in the daytime.
***My Verdict***
This is not a perfume that I like, it is too strong for me and the scent reminds me of the perfumes my Grandma used to wear when I was a little girl (although this is not a bad thing, it's just not what I look for in a perfume). But my mum really likes it and the scent is very similar to some of her perfumes so maybe it is an acquired taste that seems to be more favourable among more mature ladies, although having said that I do have a couple of friends that like this perfume.
If this is something you like then you can currently pick up a 30ml bottle from boots for only £15.30. I personal would purchase this perfume but we are all different and if this is a fragrance you love then I think £15.30 is a bargain!
Summary: It's a bit like marmite, you'll either love it or you'll hate it!
