**Please note: I own the Bvlgari Travel Collection of five different scents. After suggesting the product to Dooyoo, they have asked instead that I post the reviews of the scents under individual categories. As such this review will have elements of my full Travel Collection review on Ciao. ===Flying Visit=== May saw me and my partner Allan (Allanharry on here) taking a trundle through the airport on our way to a Greek Island. Part of the fun was the chance to go through duty free and wind the clerks up thinking you'd buy booze if they gave you a free sample. They must know... they simply must. This time, however, it wasn't all free as I realised after a few drinks that I needed some more smellies. I was, after all, running drastically low. I hopped over to the Bvlgari stand and spotted the Travel Collection so I snapped it up. ===Potayto, Potahto=== Bvlgari is a complete bastardisation of the founders name, Sotirios Voulgaris. The V was replaced with a B as that's how the sound was pronounced and the V comes from a letter in the Latin alphabet that is pronounced as a U similar to the original name. It is said as "Bulgari". Voulgaris founded the company in 1884 in Paramythia in Greece (his hometome), and over the years he moved around and ended up in Rome. The company diversified from its roots in jewelry to produce fashion items such as clothes, handbags, accessories and fragrances. LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy) are the current owners of the Bvlgari franchise. ===What I got=== In the Collection there are five different Bvlgari scents: Blv, Aqva, Aqva Marine, Man and Man extreme. I'd never seen or head of the last two but I'd had many a bottle of the first three so I was more than happy to give it a bash. You get 5ml of each scent for £30. I assumed they'd all be great so I didn't mind paying slightly more than I usually would for a bottle of one scent. I also figured if I didn't like them at least I wouldn't have much to get through. Each bottle is a miniature replica of the bigger spray bottles, though they don't have a spray nozzle. I've since tried out a proper bottle of Man extreme in the shops and can confirm the spray nozzle it comes with is just as good as the others (which are all great). ===Bvlgari Man Extreme=== Top notes: pink grapefruit, calabrian bergamot, Mediterranean cactus Middle/Heart notes: white freesia, gutemalan cardamom, vegetal amber Base notes: balsa wood, Haitian vetiver, Laotian benzoin. This one was released this year (2013) and did the opposite of the Aqva scents: rather than this being a lighter version of its predecessor, this one sexed it up. The bottle is similar, though slightly better looking for simply not being see-through: it's a matt silvery colour instead. The initial hit is a powerful and sexy smell, full of spice and passion while staying fresh. Allan bumped into me a few minutes after I had put this on and his tongue was hanging out of his mouth. It's a really, really sexy smell. Alas, the freshness washes the scent away after about three hours. If you get right up to it you can still smell it (just) at the end of the day, but only if you are really trying hard. A few hours and this was practically undetectable by anyone I know, including myself which is a huge shame as the initial stages are so gorgeous. Like its previous version, its ok, but it has serious issues with staying power. An improvement on Bvlgari Man, but not quite good enough ===The Price=== Being the newest scent they have let out, it's currently costing between £36 and £45 to get 100ml of this scent though I'd only suggest it if you carry the bottle round with you to boost the smell throughout the day. If you are doing that you'll use up your 100ml fairly quickly therefore bumping up the price you'd pay for the same period that a stronger fragrance would last. ===The Ingredients=== For those who need to check the ingredients, here they are! Alcohol denat. (SD alcohol39-c). Aqua (water), Parfum (fragrance), limonene, linalool. Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, butyl methocydibenzoylmethane, ethylhexyl salicylate, citronellol, citral, geaniol, Bht. Feel free to research any that may worry you! ===The Verdict=== I really loved this fragrance but the staying power, like its predecessor, just isn't enough to make it worth your time. While slightly better, it's still a fragrance that will not be noticed by anyone but the closest of the close. Even you won't pick up on it while you wear it unless you actively seek out an area that you have sprayed to sniff. Poor show Bvlgari. Three stars out of five from me.
