The Calvin Klein Beauty Eau de Parfum is available from GBP 49.50.
The Eau de Parfum was launched in 2010 and created by Sophie Labbe.
The Eau de Parfum comes in a high, oval-shaped flacon with a silver cap. On the flacon is the product name. The flacon contains 30 ml.
The Eau de Parfum is described as follows. "Calvin Klein Beauty is the fragrance from Calvin Klein for women. It is a sophisticated, confident and radiant fragrance. It evokes the ultimate power of femininity and sophistication, while capturing the spirit of a woman who is beautiful from the inside out, with an aura that radiates."
The Eau de Parfum is fresh with a floral, oriental scent. A fresh, light scent can be noticed. Thereupon, the intensive scent of jasmine can be recognized. The following is a woody scent that reminds of cedar. The main accords of this scent are floral and musky. The scent is gentle. The Eau de Parfum is not too overpowering and not too intesive. The intensity of the scent, as well as the longevity are moderate.
The top note is ambrette or musk mallow. The middle note is composed of jasmine. This is followed by the base note virginia cedar.
The Eau de Parfum is not long-lasting, yet the scent lasts about 8 hours.
I can recommend the Calvin Klein Beauty Eau de Parfum, as the scent is not too intensive and the longevity is moderate. The scent of jasmine can be noticed in particular.
Over the past few months, I have managed to collect a wide variety of perfume samples, and I am slowly working through them, reviewing as I go! I’m not sure where this sample came from, it just appeared one day. Before I had this sample, this wasn’t a perfume that I had heard of, which was unusual as I am normally a fan of Calvin Klein fragrances, and they are usually advertised heavily as well
There doesn't seem to be much information on the internet about the notes in this fragrance, or maybe there is just the three notes that I found noted on a few websites. The breakdown is as follows:
Top notes of Ambrette Seeds
Heart notes of Jasmine
Base notes of Cedarwood
When you first spray this onto your skin, there is a rich burst of scent with a slightly spicy kick to although this fades within half an hour to the heart note which is a quite sweet smelling yet still very rich Jasmine scent. Both the initial burst and the heart are a strong, spicy scent and while it does take a while for the cedarwood to become apparent, the overall vibe of this scent is that of a rich, spicy scent.
I find that while it's not a heavy scent, I can detect this on myself when I am wearing it and it doesn't feel cloying on my skin. The initial first burst lasts around half an hour, before fading into the sweeter Jasmine scent. After around an hour the cedarwood becomes more apparent before wearing off around 3 hours after application.
I do like this perfume although I don’t think it’s one that I would buy the full sized version of as it’s just not unique enough for my liking. I also feel (much as though I am slightly embarrassed to be writing this) it is more of a mature scent, and would suit people slightly older than my age group (early 30’s).
Unlike a lot of the scents that I have reviewed, I wouldn't say this fits into any category easily . It can be worn as a daytime scent if your preference is a richer scent as it's not a heavy or cloying scent. It can also be worn as a night time scent as it has it's rich notes. Again, it's not a seasonal scent and can be worn easily in both winter and summer.
Price and Availability
At the time of writing (July 2014) the eau de parfum of this fragrance can be bought for the following prices from The Perfume Shop:
Wanting a change from my favourite fragrance (Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle), I had a sniff around my local department store over a period of a few months, and eventually decided on Calvin Klein's fragrance Beauty, which I asked for as a birthday gift. I was lucky to receive a 50ml bottle of eau de parfum. The bottle was in a slim, glossy box and was quite heavy. The glass is oval and was cased in a silver look metal outer shell, with a classic, oval shaped silver type stopper over the spray nozzle. Design wise, it is nothing special, not even a particularly classic or simple design which can look sophisticated. It is quite modern, but plain and as it is generally inoffensive I still keep it on my dressing table. Even now, when my bottle is almost empty, it feels heavy and chunky.
Calvin Klein is and established American fashion and luxury goods brand, initially founded in the late 60s. This perfume is one of an extensive selection and as launched in the Autumn of 2010.
Overall the perfume would be classified as floral, but is quite different from other floral scents I use. I read a blurb that claimed this fragrance was for the mature woman (eek!) in her 40s. Whilst that may be me technically, and I do think this is a sophisticated and elegant scent, I would not want this to put a woman in her twenties or thirties off, as I think a perfume either suits you or it doesn't, and these are personal factors. I also see no reason why a woman in her 50s, 60s or beyond would not wear this also. The top notes are listed as Ambrette seeds, something I wasn't familiar with but is commonly used in perfumes to provide a musk scent, even in generally floral fragrances like this one. Whilst I do detect musky notes, it is not immediately obvious. This is quite different from the top note floral scents I normally prefer, but is slightly sweetly musky, without being sickly.
The mid-notes are jasmine, and this is when I prefer the fragrance. I can detect these notes quite easily and enjoy the overall floral-oriental blend, which is what I feel suits me best, and this lasts about three hours or so before settling down. The base note is supposedly cedarwood and I can detect a woody tone to the overall floral scent in the end.
I was pleased with the longevity of the scent which lasts a full day, although I would top up if I was going out in the evening, to keep it fresh.
With some perfumes, friends and colleagues will comment on it (complimentarily) or ask what I am wearing, but this has not happened with this perfume. Whilst I buy fragrances for me, not to get compliments from others, it is always nice when someone tells you that you smell nice! I like the perfume but it is missing that certain 'je ne sais quoi' that makes a perfume 'me'. For that reason, I will not be re-purchasing.
If you want to try this perfume, it is available in the Calvin Klein section in most department stores and specialist perfume retailers. Expect to pay about £50 for a 50ml bottle of the eau de parfum.
This is a review of Calvin Klein's Beauty Eau de Parfum which I was given as a gift from a friend for my birthday earlier this year. I was excited to try it as I usually like all the CK perfumes so it seemed a risk free present really.
The ultimate femininity of a luminous and modern floral. The feminine, sophisticated fragrance opens with top notes of Ambrette Seeds, middle notes of Jasmine and dries down to base notes of Cedarwood. This sounded good as I often gravitate towards perfumes with jasmine in them.
The first thing I thought when I sprayed the bottle was 'ooh that's fresh' and then the second thought was that it smelt a bit like the first impulse I had when I was only twelve years old! After the perfume settled, I thought it was a bit old fashioned and probably something more suited to the kind of fragrance my mum will wear.
I think I will pass on the rest of the bottle to my mum as it's not really one I will enjoy wearing so there will be no repeat purchase by me on this occasion. Having said that, I don't think it's an unpleasant perfume and it certainly doesn't make me recoil!
Price and availability
This is quite an expensive perfume, as you would expect from Calvin Klein. The Perfume Shop sell 30ml at £34.50 and 50ml at £49.50 right up to 100ml at £64.50. You'd really have to love it to buy 100ml though! As usual, better prices may be found if you shop around or are prepared to buy a gift set as you can also buy body lotion and shower gel in the same fragrance too.
Whilst I didn't love this perfume, I didn't find it totally awful. It just didn't do it for me but I can say it has good staying power as I did the washing up after spritzing the bottle twice on my wrists and after the washing up it was still strong smelling! I would recommend a 24 hour test of this before purchasing as it may smell different to and on other people but I do think my Mum will like this one as she likes floral perfumes.
You may gather, I am abit of a fan of Calvin Klein perfumes. Once, I only used the wear classics like my mother wore:
Chanel 5, Mitsouko, Shalimar ( still tops), Blue Grass ( absolutely love it- it smells of smoky wood and wind dried grass), L'Heure Bleue and Bal a Versailles.
Now though, some of these smell a little passe, especially Mitsouko- I mean who wants to smell of chrysanthemums any more?
I happened upon Beauty and was overcome by its slick bottle and oily greenish scents.
Beatiful curvilinear bottle with usual Klein aluminium accents. The bottle is sculptural and elegant. The box is white and a bit boring, a beautician's idea of a nice box. I like a bit of glitz or colour. Howver, Kelin perfumes have this sort of clinical look, as though they have just been invented and poured by the parfumier.
Modern white lily overwhelms the senses initially, a bit like Ysatis de Givenchy. However this lily is not grannyish, it has a hothouse smell. It reminds of a rather nice scent I used to get from Yves Rocher called Ispahan.
It has a base of cedar and 'ambrette', which is a warm synthetic.
I am thoroughly fed up with ambrette in modern perfumes. I much prefer vanilla.
It has a caramel undertone which I get bored with and something sharp which reminds me of Eau Privee by Estee Lauder, which I love in the bottle but not on the wrist.
Beauty also has accents of Tuberose and Jasmine which give it what I call a 'white' smell, like a good soap.
Actually, the top note smells like soap brought back to me from a Royal Caribbean Cruise- possibly the best soap I ever smelled and which I could never duplicate.
The exoticism of this scent is in the strong warmth of the middle notes which peter out to a basenote which is woodsy and a little bit blackcurrant-flowery. It is oily on the skin which predicts a great sillage.
The scent is not sexy like Euphoria, and as such can be worn on may occasions, although a little strong for the office. I am left a little let down.
Lasts for hours and hours which may or may not be good, if you want to put on something different, this one overrides it.
WHEN TO WEAR
Casual daytimes, a bright evening at the theatre or cinema, to meet your friend in the park, dining out.
WHO IT IS FOR
As usual with Klein, thisis for a slightly older lady late 20's could pull it off. It is a cashmere sweater and jeans kind of scent. I would classify it as a'brunette' perfume, because it is warmish and sophisticated, a department store perfume.
I find this a lovely scent, but a little boring. You could wear it anywhere, which is an advantage, but it does not pass the Scarf Test. This is my own test; if I have worn a perfume with my scarf, the next time I put it on in a few days a lovely scent appears and I am thinking " That is Gorgeous!" - I know the perfume is a winner.
So not a winner. It is a bit too stable for me and lacks esprit.
It is a little like Cinema, but not as nice.
I like it, but only as a friend............
It is a nice polite perfume, feminine rather than feline.
I don't think any prospective lovers would like this, it is a bit too staid. I reckon it would be a lovely gift for a lady who lunches.
SIZES - 30, 50 and 100ml, along with accompanying products - 200 ml perfumed body lotion and 200 ml perfumed bath and shower cream. Price £35 up so expensive. Boots and Department stores stock it, but I only buy perfume on the net as it is cheaper. Try ebay or Amazon.
Calvin Klein - Beauty. Eau De Parfum
Made by Coty Prestige, Paris and distributed by Coty US, New York, Beauty is one of the perfumes for women in Calvin Klein's range of products.
I first came across Calvin Klein Beauty while being nosey in a friends bathroom and having a cheeky spray of some of her perfumes. This one in particular caught my attention and I have since purchased the perfume myself as I decided it probably wasn't appropriate to keep using my friends bottle every time I went to visit, even if she did laugh and tell me it was fine!
Beauty comes in a quite nice looking oval shaped glass bottle with a shiny silver metal surrounding the edge of the bottle. The lid of the bottle is also oval shaped and made from the same shiny silver as the metal surround. The design of the bottle allows you to see the yellow perfume inside the bottle which will enable you to easily see when you are beginning to run low. There is minimal decoration to the bottle with the wording 'Calvin Klein BEAUTY' in thin black lettering printed in the centre of the bottle.
How Does It Smell?
Beauty has a lovely feminine scent and I would describe it as being mildly floral without being too overpowering in the (no offence) 'old lady' way too. It is a reasonably sweet smelling perfume and I would describe it as refreshingly pleasant.
I find that if I spray Beauty on my neck, and sometimes my wrists, when I get dressed in the morning, a couple of squirts will very easily last for the whole day. I find that when I first spray the scent the smell is very strong, but this seems to settle within a couple of minutes, after this the strength is 'just right' and nice and subtle enough to be noticed but not overpowering.
As with most of the perfumes I own, it has been so long since my last purchase that I cannot remember the price I paid, however a quick search online tells me that Beauty is available for £29.75 on Amazon for a 30ml bottle, so in my opinion, quite expensive!
Would I Recommend?
Yes, I would recommend Calvin Klein Beauty although in my opinion it is quite expensive, so for me (and my bank balance!) it is an occasional treat to wear when I fancy a nice change.
Thanks for reading :)
I received this perfume as a gift last year and although obviously a generous gift I was a little disappointed after my experience of another Calvin Klein fragrance, Euphoria Blossom (which I have also reviewed). I had also heard that this fragrance was suited to an older woman so I certainly had preconceptions about what this perfume would be like.
The perfume came in a very simple white box with black lettering. Despite the simplicity it did look expensive. The bottle is again very simple. It is quite a solid tear shape made from clear glass with a silver coloured metal, oval tube shaped lid. The bottle has simple yet elegant black lettering. It is sleek, clean looking, fits perfectly in your hand and again looks expensive. The perfume itself is a very pale yellow which if I'm honest looks a little like urine! I really wish this was a different colour as you can clearly see it through the bottle. Other than this the appearance is simple perfection.
The perfume itself was a very pleasant surprise. The top note is Ambrette seed and initially the scent is light but with a warmth to it which I really liked. It seemed much more substantial than Euphoria Blossom. The heart note is Jasmine and Neo Lilly which gives a pretty, feminine, floral scent which is sweet but not too sweet. The base note is Cedar which has a hint of musk but more importantly it is warm and rich. I would describe the perfume as pretty, feminine and sophisticated. This I assume is the reason it is marketed at a more mature woman in her 40s. But don't let this put you off, I am 24 and I really love this perfume. I do usually prefer a richer more sophisticated scent anyway so this was perfect for me. I think this perfume could be worn day or night but is perhaps more suited to an evening out. It has great staying power as I can usually still smell it at the end of a night out.
Prices for this perfume are £35 for 30ml, £50 for 50ml, and £65 for 100ml. Although not the cheapest of perfumes, I think these are fairly reasonable prices to pay for such a lovely designer perfume and I will definitely buy another one when mine runs out. I think this would make a lovely gift, especially if you weren't 100% sure of their taste when it comes to perfume bottles as this bottle is so simple it definitely couldn't offend. Overall a lovely perfume and bottle at an affordable price, I would thoroughly recommend to any age.
I love my perfume collection and always like trying and buying many different fragrances. This one is the newest to my collection and I love it. I received this fragrance as a gift.. and hadn't tried any perfumes by Calvin Klein before. It came as part of a gift set and was packaged in a white box that although simple in design, looked expensive and nice.
The bottle that I have is 30ml and although very simple, I like the design. The lid is easily popped on and off and the bottle itself is a nice oval shape which fits easily in the palm of your hand and stands well on your dressing table. The lettering on the bottle however is quite small and not very eye catching. The bottle is also clear which allows you to see how much fragrance is left and the perfume is a light yellowy colour which makes it look nicer in the bottle than a clear perfume would.
The scent itself is one that I love and it is completely different to all my other perfumes. It's sophisticated and elegant.. and the scent is not too strong and overpowering, but subtle. It's aimed at older women but I feel the fragrance is suitable for all ages and that wouldn't stop me buying it. It does smell really nice and is great to wear out to dinner. I've been wearing this fragrance a lot recently and i'm already halfway through the bottle.. it's definitely one I would want to buy again as it does make you feel very feminine and sophisticated and I think it's nice to have a range of different scents in your collection.
In terms of price.. i've just had a quick look on the fragrance shop website and found that the 50ml gift set is on sale at £29.99, which is a great price! As the 50ml bottle is priced at £50 at Superdrug and Boots and £35 for the 30ml.
(Looking online I also found that the fragrance opens with top notes of Ambrette Seeds, middle notes of Jasmine and dries down to base notes of Cedarwood).
Thanks for reading :)

I received this perfume as a sample with the expectations that I would probably not like it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
Being a 20 years old and reading about this perfume online I immediately thought that it would not be for me.
"Elegance, sophistication, timelessness and beauty are in the first plan. The perfume is ideal for mature women who choose models from Calvin Klein collection and enjoy style and spirit of Klein collections. Beauty is a fragrance representing woman in her 40's, her beauty, maturity and self-esteem. "
What do I think
Top notes: Ambrette seed
Middle notes: Jasmine
Base notes: Cedar
For a start I must say if you do not like floral scents then avoid this perfume. It is very different from the seductive perfumes that Calvin Klein has previously released; it is very elegant and subtle.
When the perfume I found that the scent was stronger than I had imagined, however after a couple of minutes the scent settled and began to develop into a very beautiful and feminine scent yet was not overpowering.
I think the subtlety of this perfume works extremely well as it almost smells natural and as though you have a gorgeous scent to you without the need for perfume.
The scent develops throughout its wear and becomes a scent that in your mind you imagine being a pretty scent. The woody elements begin to arise after about an hour which blend very well with the floral tones.
The scent lasts a fairly long time without the need to constantly reapply, in my experience you can apply in the morning and still smell the perfume in the evening.
As I said before as a 20 year old I didn't have high hopes for this perfume and the various descriptions that I have found online have completely alienated the younger market. Even though I would not wear this perfume during the evening I think it would be perfect for someone my age to wear during the day as well as older women. It is very universal and one which I think women of all ages would enjoy.
This perfume is available in 3 sizes: 100ml, 50ml and 30ml.
A surprising and simply lovely perfume that I would never had even observed if I hadn't received a sample due to the advertising of the product. If you are out and about have a sniff and you may be as surprised as I was. I would rate this perfume 7 out of 10.
This has to be my favourite scent at the moment. I received a 50ml bottle for christmas and have worn it every day since, i've had to splurge on a 100ml size after running out recently. By looking at the products packaging you wouldn't think anything of it, the box and bottle look very boring. This simplicity though should not take away from the gorgeous smell of the product within the packaging.
I would describe the smell as very fresh and floral....but not a sweet smell it is slightly musky (you're probably thinking how can it be fresh and slightly musky...it just is). It is a very sophisticated and classy fragrance, I believe it is worth the cost. Ideal to wear night and day.
This is the only fragance which when I put on, I feel like I look good (weird isnt it?). It gives me that extra confidence and will last all day. Definitely longlasting.
This is now my signature fragrance and I don't think I will ever get bored of it, would 100% recommend this little gem... don't be attracted to the fancy bottles...simplicity is where its at.
I am really difficult with perfumes, and I tend to stick to the one I like rather than try lots of different fragrances.
When I saw the advert with Diane Kruger, I thought I might give it a go, as I absolutely love this actress and her style, so I should like the fragrance too. I found a sample in a magazine and was immediately seduced!
I went to Boots to try it on my skin and it smelled gorgeous, and stayed on for quite a while.
It smells very refined, elegant and pure, fruity but not heady. The package is as well very simple, elegant and corresponds totally to the smell of the fragrance.
I usually wear a strong fragrance which is more something you would wear at night, slightly heady, and I find that Beauty is more the kind of daytime elegant fragrance that you can wear for work, or for an interview.
I really love it and bought one for my mum for Christmas, and she's wearing it all the time now!
I have used a lot of Calvin Klein Perfumes over the years. I know they are quite expensive, but the scent of the Perfume tends to last a good lenght of time so it's not all that bad.
To look at this bottle it looks quite plain and boring. I would have thought with a name such as Beauty then it would have been a prettier looking bottle. I think this looks quite old looking as well. The bottle is a thick glass and is clear so you can see the liquid through the glass. It is a orangy colour and I think that adds to the old kind of look of this. The lettering is quite small and simple on the bottle and the only colouring or should I say decoration is the rectangular shaped lid which is black and white striped. This doesn't look cheap I would say but again it doesn't looks well expensive either. The box is simple too. It kind of has an Expensive look to it, and seems good quality, but I never fuss about the box as it just goes straight in the bin.
Since I got this as a present I wasn't sure of the price of this so I looked online. I got the 30ml bottle and see that this costs around £25. Not sure what other sizes this comes in. This price is about the norm for this brand and this size.
So how does this smell? It's quite nice. Didn't smell exactly how I thought it would as it is nicer. The notes in here are Cedarwood, Jasmine, Ambrette Seeds (whatever they are?). I think this is the only scents in here, but who says that there should be lots of different scented notes going on. The scent from this is a slightly spicy scent which after looking online I see this is the Ambrette Seeds. The Jasmine is a nice Oriental warming scent and the Cedarwood seems to be a musky and slightly Teaky scent to it. It is a rich and lingering scent and although as usual after the first 10 minutes the scent settles down and warms to your skin there isn't all that difference to the scent. This didn't smell all Chemical like which some scents do when they are first sprayed.
This lasted for ages although it was a lot fainter. I could still smell this a fair bit on my wrists hours after I had sprayed it, so just gave a couple of sprays to freshen up.
This is a nice scent. It smells expensive and it is expensive but it's a nice scent and although not exactly to my scent, it is a good Perfume and i'm sure this will have a lot of fans.
I'm a real lover of beautiful fragrances and have a few firm favourite brands; one of which is Calvin Klein. I am what you would probably call a "fragrance tart", as I tend to chop and change the scent that I wear dependant upon my mood. My experience of Calvin Klein is extremely favourable, as I regularly use Euphoria, Eternity and the recently launched Beauty. Consequently, this review discusses my experience of using Beauty, an eau de parfum, which as far as I am concerned, most definitely lives up to its' name.
A LITTLE ABOUT BEAUTY
It was only a couple of months ago that this stunning fragrance was launched; the purpose of which was to support Calvin Klein's latest clothes collection. Through carrying out a little research I was surprised to learn that the fragrance is marketed at the mature woman (women in their 40's, so that's definitely me!). However, I cannot quite agree with this statement and will discuss my reasons later in this review.
APPEARANCE OF BEAUTY
I learned that the inspiration for the design of the bottle was from the beautiful calla lily flower, which is a real favourite of mine, both in its' shape and fragrance. I have several calla lily plants growing in my garden and simply adore summer time when I am able to witness their gorgeous stems, which grow to approximately 2 metres in length with they produce beautiful white funnelled flowers. Following my research I discovered that the idea behind Beauty is that it reflects the internal beauty of a woman including her strength and spirit.
I first purchased this delightful fragrance within a couple of weeks of its' initial launch and was smitten the moment I witnessed the curvaceous bottle. The transparent glass bottle is oval shaped with the most stunning curves and sits on a flat base, which allows your fragrance to stand neatly on your dressing table. However, I would advise that whilst this is a gorgeous bottle and something that looks simply beautiful on display it is advisable to store your fragrances in a cool dark place to prolong their lifetime.
As with all of the Calvin Klein fragrances considerable thought has been put into the design of the lid and it is this that completes this stunning bottle. The lid is a beautiful shiny chrome colour and whilst a little chunky it is considerably appealing to the eye. If you are familiar with Calvin Klein's other fragrances you will be aware that all of them display stunning lids on their bottles. The lid sits extremely tightly, which is a huge positive, as there is no risk of it falling off whilst storing the bottle in your hand bag and only a slight pull is needed to reveal the matching chrome coloured dispenser.
THE FRAGRANCE WITHIN BEAUTY
I carried out quite extensive research in order to provide concise and accurate information regarding the notes contained within this stunning fragrance. However, the Calvin Klein website provides very little information and all I have been able to locate is that the top notes are ambrette seeds followed by the heart notes of jasmine and the base notes of cedarwood. To be totally honest, had someone informed me of these notes prior to me witnessing the fragrance I would not have been interesting in making a purchase. As I had never heard of the ambrette seed I carried out further research and learned that they are an essential oil with a sweet floral fragrance similar to that of musk. I'm not a real lover of musky or floral fragrances, but within Beauty its' scent is neither too sweet, floral nor heavy and in fact, it is as the name depicts and that is sheer beauty. Its' purpose within this fragrance is that it enhances the spicy warmth and in doing so, creates an absolutely stunning fragrance.
MY EXPERIENCE OF USING BEAUTY
As previously advised I purchased this gorgeous fragrance following its' initial launch earlier this year and in my opinion Calvin Klein has created a real winner. Only a short press of the easy to use chrome coloured dispenser is sufficient to provide a plentiful mist of this fragrance, which I apply to each of my wrists and behind my ears. The fragrance is long lasting and I find that I do not need to reapply during the day, as one application in the morning is sufficient to allow you to smell simply desirable for many hours. Whilst I am 43 years old and this fragrance is marketed at my age group I am of the opinion that it is suited to women of all ages, particularly due to the fact that it is not heavy nor is there a distinct fragrance of musk, which you could be mistaken for thinking from its' description. It is a very sophisticated fragrance in both scent and appearance and is most certainly a firm favourite for me. Although I have not yet used all of my fragrance I can see that I will not experience any problems with removing every last drop from the bottle due to the fact that the dispenser touches the curved base. I cannot recommend this fragrance highly enough and as a result it receives a full 5 stars from me. If I had to use a few words to describe this fragrance I would say "luxurious, heavenly and simply adorable".
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The RRP for this fragrance is around £50 for a 100ml bottle, but many of the department stores are selling the gift boxes, which will include a fragrance and another item, such as a shower gel for a reduced price. For example, you can pick up a presentation box of a 30ml fragrance together with a shower gel from Superdrug for just £15.99.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.

Calvin Klein is a designer brand founded in 1968 by Calvin himself. The brand is most famous for its range of designer clothing. Other products sold include homewear, underwear etc.
Calvin Klein fragrances for men and women, were originally produced by a Unilever company. In 2005, Coty took over the running of the fragrance production. The first female fragrance from Calvin Klein was Obsession (released 1985). Since then, many more have been released, with some also being unisex.
Beauty is the most recent addition to the Calvin Klein fragrance collection. It was released in 2010 and is available in an eau de parfum, bath and shower cream and a skin lotion. The matching products may be used to create a layered scent on the skin. Beauty is described as capturing "femininity and sophistication.
The bottle containing Beauty is feminine with its curved nature and smooth texture. The ultra thick glass is clear and shows off the slightly, tinted perfume within. Curving up from the rounded base, a chunky and shiny silver lid clicks onto the silver sprayer. Simplicity in its greatest form is shown here as the words "Calvin Klein Beauty" are printed in black in an unobtrusive manner.
Beauty falls into the floral fragrance category and the fragrance notes used within the perfume confirm this fact.
*Top notes - Beauty opens with a spicy offering of ambrette seeds. The top notes give the initial impression of the fragrance and are short lived.
*Middle notes - Jasmine flows through offering a floral heart to Beauty. The middle or heart notes create the body of the fragrance and can last several hours.
*Base notes - Cedarwood is used to create a vibrant dry down. The base notes leave the final trace of fragrance on the skin.

Calvin Klein is a brand which I have been aware of for many years. My sister was keen on the unisex CK1 they released. I always considered that fragrance to be cheap and boring and this put a downer of my views of the brand overall. As a rule, I never really bothered with CK but when I received some perfume samples recently of the new release Beauty, I decided to put my past issues to the side and try it out. That was a few weeks ago and I liked the samples so much, that I purchased a bottle of Beauty today.
Well I say bottle, I went for the gift set. I spotted it whilst shopping in Glasgow with my Mum this morning and priced at only £15.00, I did not hesitate to buy it. I had some Christmas money and was told to treat myself so what better way than to stock up on more beauty products? My set came in a gorgeous, shiny silver box which will get many uses for odds and ends! The bottle is really pretty and rather heavy, I am glad it is only 30ml as anything bigger and I wouldn't fancy carrying it in my bag! The lid clicks on perfectly and I can rest assured that the contents of my bag won't be getting sprayed without my knowledge!
Ok, so here we have a perfume which jumps straight into the floral category. Overpowering floral perfumes are just not me and I much prefer something sweeter or fruity. This led me to wondering why on earth I had chose to buy a predominately floral perfume and the truth is, that it isn't a harsh, in your face floral combination of notes being used..it is simply beautiful in every way possible.
On spraying Beauty (one spray each wrist and either side of my neck), I am greeted with a fresh and welcoming aroma. It comes off as quite powerful to begin with but soon settles to a more bearable level without any issues. The freshness of Beauty is light and airy. The first time I tried this, I was quite taken aback and surprised at how fresh it was as I didn't expect it. The airy freshness is soon interrupted and gradually blends in with a warming spicy edge which is slightly sweet and adds a cosy edge to the ensemble.
Within a few minutes, the Jasmine sweeps into action which allows Beauty to be the proud owner of the floral title. The jasmine doesn't try to choke you with its floral presence, it sits comfortably like an open flower in the distance. It is subtle yet generous in its strength and invites only those nearby to me to envelope themselves in its scent. The jasmine presents itself as delicately floral with a slightly sweetened twist added in for good measure. It is soft and as it pushes towards the base notes after 5-6 hours, it adapts to a smooth and ever so enchanting scent.
The base of Beauty isn't complex but it is interesting and inviting. Smooth, warm and woody, the cedarwood comes across as being strangely sweet. Whilst I am used to sweet and musky bases, the cedarwood as a single note works very well. It creates a pleasant and sort of dreamy scent that finishes off Beauty perfectly. The base carries on and is apparent on my skin, though fairly close to the skin, for a further 3-4hours. After this time, it remains subtle on my scarf and makes wearing it a pleasurable experience.
Beauty is a modern fragrance which uses the floral category confidently but doesn't overuse it. Bearing this in mind, it would possibly suit a young, mature woman for work or special occasions. It won't suit everyone so it is worthwhile obtaining a sample or spray from your local department store.
*~*~*Do I Recommend*~*~*
Beauty took me by surprise and when I first got my sample, I was convinced I wouldn't like it. It goes to show how feelings can change towards a brand or category of fragrance. Beauty is a versatile fragrance which goes through an interesting stage of fragrance notes - offering freshness, spiciness, floral and a warming base. It lasts most of the day allowing one to apply in the morning and leave the heavy bottle sitting at home on the dresser.
I am over the moon with my gift set purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Calvin Klein Beauty to you all. I feel confident within myself when wearing this fragrance and you may too.
Thanks for reading!
Last week I was lucky enough to open a Christmas card from my boss with a very generous Debenhams voucher inside and I knew exactly what to spend it on. The new fragrance Beauty by Calvin Klein. I had received a sample of it some time ago and loved it. I'm a big fan of Calvin Klein fragrances and was eager to get this one too.
Beauty was introduced this year and is the latest in a long successful line of fragrances by this designer.
It is advertised as " capturing the spirit of a woman who is beautiful from the inside out" A lot to live up to!
As I said I bought my Beauty from Debenhams, it cost £34.00 for an EDP spray. Its also available in a 50ml for £43.12 and a 100ml for £55.79.
The packaging is very plain and simple reflecting the nature of the perfume and the simple yet stylish bottle inside.
Beauty is in an oval shaped plain glass bottle, very simple yet stylish in looks. The way the glass is designed looks like a bottle within a bottle and has just Beauty Calvin Klein written in the front. The lid looks like a small silver tube laying across the top, its unusual and once again stylish.
Beauty is a floral perfume, with notes including:-
Top:- Ambrette Seeds
When first sprayed the floral elements are very strong and quite overpowering. I like floral fragrances but this stage of the fragrance is a bit too potent for me. Although its not listed in any of the perfumes notes (well none I could find) I was sure I could detect a citrus element, lemon, in there too.
Luckily this first floral burst doesn't take too long to settle down and you are left with a much more subtle floral smell. The jasmine is very pleasant. Sweet and feminine.
I personally cannot detect the cedarwood in this fragrance just the florals.
Beauty is, in my opinion, a younger persons perfume. Its innocent, floral and summery. Definitely not a heady seductive fragrance for the evenings.
I wear beauty in the daytime and it will last all day. Although I wouldn't use it for an evening out I don't think it would last without re applying because its always worn off by early evening. But for me this isn't a problem.
I would recommend Beauty by Calvin Klein, it's a "pretty perfume" that suits its name perfectly.
I got my perfume from Debenhams but you can find Beauty at most department stores and several on line perfume sites.
