Just before my holiday last year my husband treated me to a couple of new bottles of perfume one of which was the Calvin Klein CKIN2U Her. This was on special offer in Boots for the bargain price of £20.00 for a 150ml bottle.
This eau de toilette comes packaged in a glass bottle which is partially covered in a white plastic sleeve with the Calvin Klein logo on the front. The design of the bottle is quite simple and contemporary but still looks attractive sat on my dressing table. The bottle has a small pull of plastic lid which reveals a pump action spray dispenser.
I love the fragrance of this eau de toilette as it is beautiful and light so is just perfect for everyday wear. I tend to wear this fragrance for work as it is not too overpowering, the notes that make up this fragrance are as follows;
Top note - pink grapefruit, bergamot
Middle note - orchid and white cactus
Base note - red cedar and vanilla
You can pick up the combination of the fruity and floral notes which work perfectly together with the added sweetness of the vanilla which does come through but does not overpower the other fragrances to make it sickly or too sweet which it can sometimes do in other scents.
I have had some lovely comments about this eau de toilette when I have worn it. You do need to apply a few sprays but I have had my bottle for a couple of months now and use it around 2-3 times per week and still have some left so it works out fantastic value especially if purchased on special offer. The scent will also last most of the day meaning you do not have to reapply.
Overall this is a great day time feminine fragrance from Calvin Klein and one which is now a firm favourite with me. I would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicate, modern scent. 5 stars
I would definitely recommend this perfume and I really love it and tend to use it more during the summer months although it is suitable for use all year round.Its a really nice fruity fresh scent and it is not to much of a heavy scent like some of the other Calvin Klein perfumes tend to be.I have been a fan of this perfume for about two years and It is usually one of the many perfumes that I rotate between through out the year..I find this perfume suits me more during the summer months but you can use it all year round it is not a particularly light scent like some summer perfumes are(this is a proper perfume and not a light version...just incase I may have caused any confusion).This is suitable for anyone who is a fan of fruity scented perfumes and it is a generous sized bottle that will usually last me all year(I do not use it as my main perfume on a daily basis).It is really reasonably priced from places like Amazon, Superdrug or The perfume shop and I saw an offer yesterday for £20 for a bottle although im not sure what size the bottle was...I doubt it would be 100 ml for that price.I usually pay around £25 - £45 depending on special offers or promotions.The only negative thing that I can think of about this perfume is just that the bottle is a bit thick and hard to hold if you have a small hand...nothing major.I would definitely recommend you give this a try.
CK in2her (50ml Eau De Toilette)
I bought this fragrance a while ago from Debenhams online as it was on sale, I really don't need any more perfume as I have quite a lot of get through but as it was really cheap I bought it for myself. I have just finished this 50ml bottle and I have been using this fragrance on and off since I bought it just before summer this year.
- Product description (from Boots.com)
"CkIN2U captures the spontaneous seduction of a generation freed by technology. CkIN2Her is about being spontaneous, sexy and connected."
- About the product and bottle/packaging
This fragrance comes in a 50ml bottle which is the smallest size available as far as I am aware and it also comes in 100ml or 150ml bottles. The perfume is only available as an eau de toilette which is not as strong and doesn't have as much longevity as an eau de parfum. The bottle/packaging in my opinion looks really quite unique, it reminds me of the glass beakers I used during A level chemistry/biology which isn't really what I would expect from a perfume designer. The packaging/bottle in my opinion looks really cheap and tacky and I definitely do not like the packaging of this product. Also as the bottle is covered with white plastic you cannot see the level of how much perfume you have left. And the bottle itself is really quite heavy (not great for travelling) which means that you cannot judge how much perfume you have by weight.
Top notes: Pink grapefruit, Red currant leaves and Sicilian bergamot
Middle/heart notes: Sugar orchid, White cactus and Amber
Base notes: Vanilla and Red cedar
The scent in my opinion is really nice! The scent initially is very fresh, sweet, floral and summery - the scent has good strength to begin with and the scent is definitely noticeable but it is not too strong or overpowering. The scent when first sprayed is a little bit metallic/hair spray like but this dissipates very quickly leaving a gorgeous mix of fresh, light, spring/summer notes - not really appropriate for this time of the year but I have used this product up now so I can on to my more spicy/wintery fragrances. The scent initially has a slight scent of 'chlorinated swimming pool' about it but it does change into a great scent very, very quickly. The scent on the whole remains the same, it does not really change into the baser notes as the longevity of this fragrance is very poor so I feel like all of the notes are not developed before the scent disappears from the skin/clothing. The freshness of this fragrance is quite uplifting and refreshing - the fragrance is definitely fresh and light with floral notes being the second most predominant scent. I cannot detect the notes separately but overall the scent is light, summery, floral and mainly very fresh smelling. Overall, a nice scent for spring/summer but it may be viewed by some as generic.
The longevity of eau de toilette fragrances is usually not as good as eau de parfum and I wasn't expecting fantastic things from this perfume but the longevity of this particular fragrance is very poor, in my opinion. Firstly, the scent strength after an hour or so is poor and the longevity of this fragrance on my skin is between one to two hours which is awful! After the initial spray the perfume scent/strength decreases fairly quickly and after about two hours the fragrance is not really noticeable at all on my skin. Although the longevity of this fragrance on clothing is a bit better and the fragrance usually lasts for about three hours on my clothing - sometimes four hours maximum but again the longevity really isn't good at all! Overall, very poor longevity on my skin and poor longevity of clothing - the poor longevity of this fragrance on the whole really lets this product down.
- Price and availability
I bought this fragrance from Debenhams online earlier this year when it was on offer at about £14 (50ml) but this fragrance is currently available at Boots.com for £21 (50ml), £14 on amazon (50ml), £21.45 for 100ml on amazon and £22.94 for 150ml at cheapsmells.co.uk.
*Fresh, uplifting, light, summery floral scent
*Cheap, usually on offer and fairly widely available
*Very poor longevity on the skin - one to two hours on my skin but the longevity of clothing is better at about three hours - four hours maximum
*Cheap, tacky packaging, in my opinion
*Don't know how much perfume you have left (plastic cover and bottle is heavy anyway)
Thank you for reading my review
The CKIN2U for her is a great perfume for anyone who likes the CK range. Presented in a glass bottle with a slight gold tinge with a white plastic sheath that sits over ¾ of the bottle stating the name of the perfume. This compliments the male fragrance that has the same bottle design but a blue tinge to the bottle. At the top is a small white plastic lid that fits flush to the bottle and houses the spray applicator.
The bottle is very simple and looks ok, but the plastic sheathing can give off a cheapness and I think CK would have been better to keep the bottle all glass.
The fragrance is sold in 50ml and 100 ml EDT bottle and the prices range from £20 for the 50ml to £35 to the 100 ml so is quite reasonably priced. The fragrance is also pretty long lasting as you only need a few sprays each time so a bottle goes a long way.
The fragrance has top notes of Orchid, and grapefruit and a base note of Amber so is quite an uncomplicated simple fragrance with few tones. You can pick up the Orchid and these is a slight fruity tone which may be the grapefruit coming through. I couldn't distinguish the amber at all but this does not let down the perfume, the mixture of orchid and grapefruit is a great combination and makes the perfume light and modern.
The mix of fruity and floral makes the CK IN2U a lovely summery perfume and is a nice modern twist on your more traditional floral scents. It is delicate and light enough not to be overpowering but with enough strength to last you most of the day.
Overall a nice fragrance from CK that gives us a modern twist!
CKIN2U is a perfume from Calvin Klein, you can get both varieties, for both men and women. The mens eau d'toilette comes in a blueish colour, and the womens, like the one pictured is a golden colour. I recieved this perfume after my family had been on holiday. My family brought it back from Spain and bought it at the duty free at the airport. I think they bought it for about 35 euros. This was over two years ago, and I still have over half the bottle left.
This is the perfume that I only bring out at wintertime, this is because it smells fruity and spicy. It reminds me of cold winter days infront of the fire, and christmas day sitting beside the christmas tree. It gives me the warm fuzzy feeling inside and I enjoy spritzing this on in the morning, and then spraying a little on my scarf so I can smell it all day throughout winter.This perfume is a very deep smelling perfum, and it goes right for the insides of your nostrils if you spray a lot of it. However a little spray makes you smell irresistible and fruity for the rest of the day. I have just got this perfume out this week as have put away my more light, refreshing and flowery perfumes.
The packaging is a mix of yellow and silver, with what looks like shadows on the front. The writing is in Yellow and stands out on the shelves, it caught my eye the last time I went shopping in Superdrug. The bottle comes with a removable top, this I feel is good for safety with children, as they are less likely to be able to open the top of the bottle. The bottle is also engraved with the writing CKIN2U, this looks effective as you can see the perfume in the bottle through the writing and it looks a nice and presentable product.
Overall I would recommend this perfume to everyone, it is a nice and spicy perfume and will remind you of christmas and it is just right for wintery nights wrapped up in front of the fire.
CKin2U is a fragrance from Calvin Klein. They offer 'her' and 'him' Eau de toilettes.
"Bold, free and connected, CKin2U is for a generation without limits"
CKin2U EDT falls into the 'fresh and floral' fragrance family. This EDT is presented in a white, curvy bottle with the fragrance name imprinted onto it. The base of the bottle is clear and not completely flat. The EDT itself is a golden shade. The bottle is presented in a gold coloured box.
CKin2U follows the route than many other fragrances follow. It is built around sets of fragrance notes which become noticeable throughout the fragrances duration on the skin.
*Top notes create the initial scent and are usually quick to fade - redcurrant leaves, bergamot and pink grapefruit.
*Heart notes offer the main body of the scent - white cactus and sugar orchid.
*Base notes round the scent off and can often be detected for several hours - red cedar, vanilla and amber.
*~Price and Availability~*
CKin2U Her is available in 50ml, 100ml and 150ml sized bottles.
*www.escentual.com - £28.00/£37.00/£44.00 with a free branded Tote bag for orders over £35
*Boots - £21.00/£24.66 with no 150ml available. The 100ml is reduced from £37.00.
My fiance isn't the romantic type and I don't like flowers etc. When it comes to Valentines Day and my birthday, he always takes me to Boots to pick something. This year he had mentioned he was buying me Chanel and I was over the moon but a little confused as he wouldn't normally spend £50 on a bottle of perfume. He informed me that he had spotted a Chanel 'thing' in Boots for £27 and assumed it was perfume - it was actually a body mist he had seen and quickly backtracked telling me to look for something a bit cheaper - if it hadn't made me laugh I would have slapped him one!
Anyway, a few days before Valentines Day we went to Boots and I picked a 50ml bottle of CKin2U. Until this time, I hadn't tried this perfume and it was reduced to £14.00 for a week only so I asked him to buy me this alongside the cupcakes we were collecting that day - perhaps I can blag Chanel for Christmas - worth a try? Anyway, I have always had mixed opinions of the CK perfumes as some come across as being cheap whereas the likes of Beauty and Euphoria allow the brand to keep hold of the 'premium' title.
I personally am not keen on the bottle for CKin2U. It is very basic and looks like a jazzed up drinks bottle of some kind! It is weighty and looks cheap. I am not keen on having limited sight of how much perfume I actually have remaining in the bottle either. The sprayer works well and releases a sharp burst of perfume on my neck and wrists.
CKin2U isn't an amazing EDT - it is quite basic and doesn't have the 'wow' factor. It is however, a scent which will suit any age. CKin2U is a typical Summer/Spring scent and more suited to day time wear. It isn't sensual or deep enough to be good for evening wear in my opinion.
When I first spray this onto my skin, there is an initial burst of alcohol which settles down within seconds. The reason I recommend this for Summer wear is down to the noticeable fresh aroma that it offers. The bergamot is the most prominent fragrance note here and sets the tone for the whole scent. It seems to linger and keep the freshness alive straight through to the base notes. There is a sharp, almost acidic undertone from the pink grapefruit and a leafy trace. The top note combination is very light and refreshing but is lacking in something - perhaps a touch of sweetness would have been more appropriate as it can come across as a little bitter.
Within 30 minutes or so, the sharpness fades and the bergamot is toned down and blended with light florals. I am not a fan of heavy floral scents and would normally prefer a sweet, sensual or fruity scent. The floral notes used in the heart of CKin2U are blended well to come across as light and airy. I cannot say that the sugar orchid or white cactus stand out as individual notes. The heart isn't complex but is wearable and pleasant enough. It has a feminine feel without being 'in your face floral'.
CKin2U starts to lose the fresh feel after 3-4 hours which isn't very long but we are talking about an EDT as opposed to an EDP. The base notes sit close to the skin and aren't very strong at all. If I get up close and have a good sniff, I can detect a lovely sweet vanilla scent with a warm, slightly woody undertone. It is a lovely blend to round off the scent but I would have been happier if it had been a bit stronger. CKin2U lasts around 5hours in total on my skin.
CKin2U is definitely a simple, everyday type scent and is nothing special to look at or smell. I will use my bottle up on those warmer days when anything heavier comes across as cloying on my skin. It is refreshing to use and lovely and light but perhaps too light given the price that this EDT retails at. I like to feel confident when wearing a scent and this just doesn't do that for me.
I can recommend CKin2U if you manage to buy it cheap like my fiance done but at full price I would say go for something a bit different!
Thanks for reading :)
Before I received this perfume, I had never actually tried a Calvin Klein perfume, if you can believe that! I got this as a Christmas present a couple of years ago, and I really did love it as soon as I smelt it. I think I got mine as part of a set, along with a body moisturiser, but I can't remember what happened to the moisturiser.
The bottle is designed in a classic Calvin Klein style. It is very minimal, and sleek. You can see a little peep of the perfume itself at the bottom of the bottle which is a nice touch, and adds a little more interest. I am quite fond of the overall Calvin Klein aesthetic - I enjoy the simplicity. I don't think the packaging of the perfume will date as it is so simple. It also feels very sturdy, which I like.
The scent itself is very modern, and for some reason I find it slightly masculine. I hope this doesn't put anybody off! It really is gorgeous, and I think it represents the modern woman really well. The top note is pink grapefruit fizz, with the heart note being sugar orchid, so it is very floral. I don't find this scent to be overpowering, but it is very sensual. I used to use this as my everyday perfume before it ran out, and I found it to be perfect. It tends to last for a very long time, so it was good for spraying onto my clothes at the start of the day. I probably had mine for well over a year before it ran out, so I would say you do get good value for money.
This perfume currently retails at £24.99 on The Perfume Shop website, so I would say it is a real bargain!
I was bought a bottle of CK IN2U eau de toilette for Christmas. I have never owned any Calvin Klein fragrances before so this was a new one for me.
The bottle is quite large and heavy, its a funny shape for a perfume, it looks like an old fashioned type of bottle like they would have had vinegar in or something. It is narrow at the top and then gets bigger as it goes down half way then the same quite wide width for the other half of the bottle. The bottle is mostly a white solid colour except for a small bit at the bottom where it is clear glass and you can see through it to what looks like an orangey coloured perfume inside. This is actually the colour of the glass which you can find out if you tip the bottle upside down and look through, but it does make the bottle seem more luxurious being a golden colour liquid showing. You can also see through the letters of the brand name which are cut out of the white outer coating.
The bottle feels quite heavy, mine contains 5 oz of EDT which is also 150ml. On Amazon you can buy this bottle of EDT for £33.
The perfume has a quite pretty smell, I always find it hard to explain a smell in writing but its sort of flowery with a bit of fruity sweetness to it which is not sickly or anything but really pleasant and rich. The notes are supposed to be oriental floral which includes lots of different smells mixed together namely pink grapefruit, bergamot, orange zest, currant leaves, sugared orchid accord (??), geranium, white cactus, neon amber, vanilla souffle, tonka bean, musk and red cedar. I have never heard of most of these strange concoctions and wouldn't know whether I could smell them or not even if I did. The only ones I have heard of really and would recognise the scents of are geranium, musk, orange zest, pink grapefruit and cedar and out of them I can't say I recognise any of the smells. I have geraniums in my garden and it doesn't smell like them, it is a little citrussy (how on earth do you spell that lol) but I wouldn't say either orange or grapefruit. Over all it is a pleasant smell though so that's what counts.
Now for what its like for wearing. I have found that when you first put this perfume on your skin it has quite a strong smell which you can smell for a while after especially if it gets on to your clothes as well, but it doesn't seem to linger for a long time. I put some on one morning at about 8 am and my Other Half got up about 10.30 and I asked him what he thought of my new perfume and he couldn't smell anything. It is nice to wear though and I use it mostly if I am going out in the evening as the smell seems to stay for an hour or so and after that time I wouldn't be bothered whether you could smell it or not, it just gives you a boost as you are going out, may be a bit of extra confidence. I have noticed that the smell does stay on your clothes like my coat or scarf that I wear. I noticed it after not going out for a few days and then putting my coat on which has a fur collar to it and I could smell the perfume on it so it must linger on some things better than on others.
I am very pleased with this perfume, especially as it was bought as a gift, I am not sure that I would actually pay £33 for a replacement though when this one runs out.

The first time I smelt this perfume was on a close friend at a house gathering. I have no idea why but it reminded me of my childhood when my family and I went a walk in the country for a picnic. Strange.
But anyway, i loved the perfume and thought it was quite a sensual and relaxed scent, so I purchased the 150ml from ASDA for £28.00 a few months ago.
I haven't seen this perfume in ASDA recently but you can purchase a 50ml CKIN2U from Boots for £21.00.
The CKIN2U bottle is simply desinged with clear glass showing the golden coloured perfume, covered with a white plastic jacket with ckIN2U labelled across it. To spray the perfume, you just squeeze down on the top of the bottle. It's a simple yet cute little design, quite nifty for displaying on your dresser.
This fragrance not only comes in a fairly large bottle for quite a reasonable price, but the fragrance, once squirted, is one that will last all day without need of a top-up, meaning it should last for longer.
The scent itself is hard to place however, it's an absolutely gorgeous scent..
''It opens with a burst of pink grapefruit fizz, tart red currant leaves and zesty sicilian bergamot. The heart produces a surge of mouth watering sugar orchid that mingles with the hypnotic nectar of the white Cactus. The fragrance is lit from within as warm neon Amber floods throughout, while the base notes are flush with the seductive scents of luscious Vanilla soufflé and smoldering red Cedar.''
When heard like that, it doesn't sound like a very appealing scent, but you'd be surprised at how nice a combination is. At first sniff, the scent smells citrus-y, perhaps explained by the pink grapefruit, and you can definetely smell the Vanilla. I think the combined fragrance is just one which is relaxed, quite sensual, sexy and youthful.
Personally, I wear the CKIN2U daily. Although it's a goregous scent, I don't think it's a 'going-out' or 'party' perfume, it's more of an everyday, chilled perfume. But, of course, as with all perfumes , they smell different on one person as they do on another, so my everyday perfume may be someone elses' party perfume.
Not everyone will like this perfume.. My mum and sister aren't huge fans, as isn't my aunt. So it's probably best to test this before purchasing.
Yes! I would definetely recommend this perfume. I think it's youthful, sexy and a relaxed everyday scent that would be suited to anyone of any age. I think that it's a good price for a reasonable amount of perfume and I can vouch it lasting, as I have used mine everyday for the past few months and I still have a good amount left. I would definetely consider buying this perfume again.
If you're looking for a sensual, sexy and youthful perfume, for a reasonable price, then this is the perfume for you!
I absolutely love perfume. I don't think I particularly have a signature scent as I always have so many different ones on the go at any one time (although I think my current favourites are jimmy choo and miss dior Cherie) and ckin2u is one that was added to my collection recently from my boyfriend on my birthday.
=== Why ckin2u? ===
As I said this was a gift from my boyfriend but I do tend to drop huge hints of what I want for my birthday rather than completely leaving it up to him what to get me and he took my hint rather well! I had seen this on offer in boots around the time so I thought this would be a good present, a lovely perfume and a bit easier on his wallet too. When it was on offer I believe it was either £14 or £18 for 50ml (I can't exactly remember which one) and so was obviously a bit of a bargain. My friend also used to wear this one when we went on a camping holiday in Newquay when we were younger and the scent reminds me of all of those times. I think this is a great thing about perfumes, just smelling a particular one will evoke all kinds of feelings and memories.
=== Price and availability ===
As I said my one was bought on offer but looking at Boots for current prices suggests the following :
* 100ml - £24.66 instead of the usual £37
* 50ml - £21 instead of the usual £28
As far as I am aware there are no body products to accompany the eau de toilette.
=== The bottle ===
I have to say this is not the most attractive bottle I have ever seen, and although I am far more interested in the fragrance than the bottle, I would have preferred it to be prettier so that it looked nice on my dressing table. It is a fairly typical bottle shape and is an orange coloured glass with a large amount of white plastic over the top. I think this is why I think it looks unattractive - it looks a bit cheap. Around the bottle CK IN 2U is written with some letters having been cut out to reveal the orange glass and others written in grey. I quite like the bottom of the bottle as it looks a little like a tear drop and overall makes the bottle look a little better. This perfume is intended to last for up to 36 months after opening. The spray is as most bottles, simply pull the lid off and then push down for a spray.
=== The fragrance ===
This is of course the most important thing about a perfume. When I asked for this for my birthday I actually only vaguely remembered the smell so it was interesting to see what it was like again when I first wore it. According to the boots website - CKIN2U captures the spontaneous seduction of a generation freed by technology. CKIN2U Her is about being spontaneous, sexy and connected.' I personally think these lines just sound a bit cheesy and lame. How can something smell like a generation freed of technology?? A strange line I think. I do however absolutely love the fragrance.
While I do know clearly whether I like a smell and if it is fresh or sweet etc, I am not very good at picking out specific notes so researched which ones are in CKIN2U. Having researched I found the notes include 'pink grapefruit, bergamot, currant leaves, sugared orchid accord, white cactus, neon amber, vanilla souffle and red cedar'. The site I got this information from didn't mention which notes were in the top, middle or bottom.
Looking at the notes just by themselves I don't think it sounds all that appealing considering the usual kinds of fragrances that I like but I am pleasantly surprised. When first spray this on it does of course smell fairly strong. It is very sweet and fruity and seems to have a bit of a citrus edge - which I suppose can be explained by the pink grapefruit. If you have a good sniff you can also tell apart the vanilla from the other notes and I have also found that it takes quite a while for the top notes to wear off which I love. After wearing for a while I find that the fragrance becomes a bit warmer and of course also a bit less heavy.
I have found that typically I can still smell this on me around 8 - 9 hours after first spraying which I think is fairly impressive staying power. Some perfumes you need to top up incredibly frequently but this isn't one of them. I have been quite surprised with how long lasting this is as I don't think Calvin Klein is as good a make as some other perfumes I own and so wasn't expecting it to last all that long on my skin. I will note however as with all perfumes that how long it lasts on one person and indeed how it smells too will vary as skins are different.
===Good points ===
* Fairly inexpensive compared to other designer perfumes
* Currently on offer in boots
* Lovely fragrance (in my opinion, obviously it may not be for everybody)
* Long lasting fragrance
=== Negative points ===
* A fairly standard bottle which is pretty unattractive and cheap looking
=== Overall and would I recommend? ===
Overall I think that this is a wonderful perfume and one that I often use in the day time ( I prefer a heavier fragrance for evenings). It is long lasting so not much needs to be used, which I think is especially impressive considering this is only an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum, which makes it even better value for money. I would recommend this perfume to someone who likes a sweet and fruity fragrance that is fairly citrusy. I give this perfume 4 out of 5 as I am deducting one star for the lack of imagination or creativity for the bottle. When I use this all up I will be happy to repurchase.
Thanks for reading.
I love CKin2U , the fragrance is so strong and long lasting. With most perfumes that smell really good i find that the fragrance doesnt actually last the long and fades quickly leading to me using a lot and it running out quickly.
This is not the case with this perfume. Not only does it come in quite a large bottle for a very reasonabe price but the fragrance is beautiful and strong. Only one spritz of this is nessacary and you will be able to smell it all day meaning it lasts a lot longer.
The fragrance is unlike those of other perfumes and has a very lovely unique smell , meaning when wearing this you will stand out and people will love the smell.
Its a perfume for regular everyday wear to make you feel good about yourself and make people pay attention to who smells so good in the room.
Ckin2u for women was designed to embody the modern attitude of today's women and the spontaneous and frivolous attitude that we supposedly possess.
As we are constantly connected to one another via the internet, texting, Skyping and phoning, Calvin Klein wanted to create a perfume that would keep people connected in the same way. In other words, they wanted to create a perfume that makes you irresistible and difficult to walk away from.
And I'll admit that from the first time I smelt this perfume, I found it impossible to walk away and had to purchase the fragrance immediately even though I didn't really need it.
The perfume has fruity top notes of Redcurrant, Bergamot and Pink Grapefruit. Its middle notes are created from a deliciously sweet burst of Sugar Orchid mixed in with the unusual ingredient of White Cactus.
The perfumes warmth is created by the base notes which include scrumptious Vanilla Souffle, Amber and a depth which is brought by Cedar.
The aroma that I got from the fragrance was an incredibly sweet and delicious scent that smelt like syrup, caramel and vanilla all mixed into one. Now that may not be to everyone's taste, but I love all things sweet. Due to the fact that I detect this scent, I'm guessing that the Sugar Orchid and Vanilla are the more dominant scents.
I must admit that until I read about the notes included in the perfume, I had no idea that there was supposed to be fruity top notes and I certainly would not have guessed that there was pink grapefruit included in the mixture.
The bottle of the fragrance is quite simply designed with a white top and clear bottle which shows the perfume inside which is a golden colour that suits the fragrance well. CK is cut into the white part of the bottle. To release the fragrance you simply push down on the top of the bottle and a fairly hefty spritz is released.
The product costs around £20 for 50ml although larger bottles are also available and the price rises as the size of the bottle increases. It can be bought from most large department stores, perfume shops and many online websites.
The fragrance is gorgeous on the skin and one that you'll find everyone commenting on. It is not strong enough to be offensive but not so subtle that it goes unnoticed. It quite a flirty aroma and makes you feel sexy and youthful.
The fragrance is long lasting and does not need to reapplied throughout the day which means the bottle won't run out for a while. I think it's suitable for both day wear and night wear which can be a rare thing in a perfume.
The only criticism that I have of this fragrance is quite a big one. My first bottle was used up fairly quickly as I was obsessed with it. By the time that I got round to purchasing my second bottle, I had gained another favourite perfume so I only used Ckin2u once in a while.
After a few months, Ckin2u began to smell completely different, almost as if it was going off. It changed to the point where I didn't want to wear it anymore. My best friend said the same thing about her bottle. So, if you're buying it for occasional use, you may want to choose a different fragrance.
Other than that, this is a deliciously sweet and flirty fragrance that will make you feel cheeky and get you noticed in a good way.
The first time I smelt this perfume was actually on a customer at work and as strange as I thought I would sound telling her she smelt lovely it just had to be done, it smelt really light and summery and was just something that I had been after for a long time. I was then hoping it would smell equally as nice on my skin.
I think I paid around £20 for a 50ml bottle as I really like to shop around for prices on things like perfume, it is I believe available by a couple of pounds cheaper now if you really look around. Or even something to put your amazon voucher towards!
Upon receiving this I was a little worried that I had just spent out a little over £20 on a perfume that I had actually never tested out myself but I was very happy to find that it did work on my skin.
The packaging isn't as fancy and girly as a lot of the perfumes I own and I think it would be great for someone that isn't too overly girly but still likes to wear perfume. It comes in a metallic gold two tone box with the logo across the side. The top half of the bottle is a white plastic which I found does get dirty quite easily and the bottom half being clear glass which I always find helpful to see how much I have left. It isn't the most attractive bottle but again it isn't awful to look at and I keep all my perfumes in their boxes anyway.
The fragrance itself is very summery and not overpowering in the slightest. It is quite a light fresh scent which I think could be used for either daytime or evening although personally I prefer something heavier in the evenings. I was quite surprised when I read up that it is mainly a vanilla based fragrance as I am not keen on vanilla scented products but I really cannot smell it. It also contains scents of red cedar, amber, pink grapefruit, red currants, bergamont, sugar orchids and cactus (I wasn't even aware that cacti had a scent). I really love the mix of the fragrances inside the perfume and pink grapefruit and currant smells are some of my favorite.
My skin doesn't normally hold a fragrance very well and I find myself wanting to apply most perfumes after a couple of hours wear and I have found this to have an average staying power on my skin, probably around 4-6 hours.
I find myself going back to this perfume even though I own quite a collection, time and time again and even more so this summer. I definitely think I would re-purchase this once I am out as I find it mixes well with my skin and I love it.
This the fragrance I have been wearing for the past week while working abroad and it was perfect as it is a summery fragrance and the weather has been suitably sunny as well. It is a light, fresh and floral fragrance that is a delight to wear and one that I really like. The CK styling has a white curved bottle with a clear base.
If you are not a fan of scents that have a vanilla base then this is not the one for you as it has vanilla alongside red cedar and amber as the main base notes and these do combine well with the floral notes of orchid and surprisingly cactus.
The scent has a good longetivity to it and is ideal for day wear in my opinion. It will also not break the bank, I bought a 100ml for £21.99 in duty free. I love the fresh, vital fragrance that hits my nose straight after application and while it is not a strong smell once it has settled down it does have a summery feel to it and one that helps to lift the spirits. It certaionly fits comfortably into the floral category of fragrances and one that is nice and distinctive.
I faind that I get a good six hours of use from an application and it holds a consistent fragrance throughout this time frame once it has settled down. I have been pleased with my purchase and was also pleased to see that the good summery weather is still with us in the UK even if the country seems to have gone mad over buying petrol, personally I would prefer to buy perfume.
Well I was given this perfume as a birthday gift, last year, from my partners sister.
At first, I wasn't sure whether I liked it or not, as at first squirt the scent is slightly over-powering in my opinion.
The scent itself has top notes of redcurrant leaves, sicilian bergamont, and pink grapefruit fizz. The heart notes are burst of sugar orchids and white cactus. Finally the base notes are a warm combination of red cedar, neon amber and vanilla souffle.
Personally the only notes, I was personally able to distinguish were the notes of amber and vanilla.
The packaging is a metallic two tone gold box, with white and yellow writing, and in my opinion is rather plain.
The bottle on the other hand, is rather unsightly in appearance. The base is glass, with a bevelled indent in the middle of the bottle. The scent in side gives an almost warm golden/amber glow to the glass.
The upper half of the bottle is made from white hard wearing plastic, with the CKIN2U, in a cut out style around the cuff of the plastic. The lid is also nothing fancy, and is made from the same hard white plastic, as the upper of the bottle.
As this perfume was a gift, I'm unsure exactly how much was paid for my bottle, but I have seen it in my local Semi-Chem for £19.95.
Other retaillers include Boots, Superdrug, Asda, Amazon, Tesco, Argos, The Perfume Shop and the official Calvin Klein website, amongst others.
The perfume comes in 100ml Eau De Toilette, and I haven't seen any other sizes widely available in the shops, unfortunatly. There is also an accompanying deodrant spray, moisturiser and body wash.
In my opinion the smell, isn't quite to my taste, as I have it, I will use it, but personally I don't think I would go out and buy it again. The aftershave of the same brand however, is delightful.
Fresh floral with a woody oriental base, with fresh pink grapefruit and bergamot with a note of red currant leaves.Notes of sugar orchid and white cactus are in the heart.The base notes are: amber, red cedar and vanilla.
