Advantages: Crisp, clean and refreshing, Great for day wear, Good brand
Disadvantages: Expensive
Calvin Klein is one of the world’s leading fashion houses and as is the norm with the major fashion houses, has created several fragrances to add to its portfolio.
Calvin Klein’s fragrance business is infact one of the most successful with many famous brands. Infact recently I had written about CK’s Contradiction, which I found to be a lovely fragrance.
Unfortunately I found Contradiction to be something that I did not feel comfortable wearing in the day and during working and casual hours. It was something that I used to use only in the evenings whilst going for occasions.
Therefore when I laid eyes on Calvin Klein’s Escape and saw that this fragrance was recommended for office wear, I had no hesitation whatsoever in picking up a bottle at the duty free over a month ago.
My bottle of Contradiction just finished a couple of weeks ago and since then I have been using Escape and now feel in a good position to give a worthwhile opinion on it.
Calvin Klein launched the Escape range for men in 1993.
The fragrance is very crisp, clean and refreshing and this is what makes it ideal for daywear. It has a very fruity element to it and this gives it a lot of life and character.
I personally think that it is has an extremely masculine aroma and one that should appeal to the opposite sex.
The packaging is another excellent aspect to this fragrance and as you would expect for the price you pay.
The box is an appealing mustard coloured one and is rectangular in shape. The bottle is cylindrical in shape and has a large silver cap that incorporates about one third of the total size of the bottle. The actual fragrance is an amber colour and a darker shade of the box colour.
Calvin Klein Escape comes in several variations. You have the Eau de Toilette and the Aftershave. The Eau de Toilette is also available in both the spray version and the non spray version (atomizer).
They are also available in two bottle sizes being 50ml and 100ml.
The type that I picked up was the 100ml Eau de Toilette Spray version and I paid only £22.00. If you were to purchase the equivalent here in the U.K. it would cost you between £35.00 to £40.00. The aftershave is naturally a little cheaper but lacks the potency of the Eau de Toilette.
Overall I have found CK’s Escape to be an excellent buy and one that I have found ideal for daywear. The fact that I work in an office helps even more and the favourable comments that I have received from both sexes makes me sure that this is a good choice and one that I intend to use for quite sometime to come.
