I was first given this perfume as a present by my dad's friend, as he bought my mum a perfume and felt like I was 'left-out' because I did not have a perfume, as he bought my mum some Chanel perfume.
I believe my dad's friend bought me this because it was the most suitable for me, young and fresh, like me. This one is designed for the females, there is a male version which is blue.
But I was a bit worried when I first received it because I did not think that I would like the smell and would end up giving it away, I then tried it when I was going on a night out and this perfume is perfect for nights out, you could wear it as a day perfume, but I personally think this perfume is more designed for evening wear. Guess what? I loved it! It has a sweet, fresh and young vibrant to the product and the fact I was given a 100 ml bottle rather than a 30 ml or 50 ml was even better because that would mean it was last ages and the smell lasts ages too, so you do not need to top it every hour, maybe a few hours, but it's not too bad and the smell does not fade like some perfumes.
The bottle is quite heavy, especially the 100 ml one, so if you want a perfume to go in your handbag I would opt for a smaller one like 30 or 50 ml. The bottle could have been appealing but the white that covers the bottle, also the bottom of the bottles makes the product look like it has more product than expected, but no it is the presentation of the bottle, so don't assume when you first buy it, it has loads, it doesn't, and that kind of ruins it because it has a beautiful smell and the presentation of the box looks better than the bottle! So that's the downside to the product.
I really love this product and would recommend buying it again and again, the only thing I do not like about this product is the presentation of the bottle, but that does not stop me from buying it because it what inside that counts! This perfume has great value too, because it is quite an old perfume that has been out for quite a while you can get it for about £25 in Boots, Superdrug and Savers. But places like Superdrug do special offers on this product like 'get it for £19 or £20 - one week only or until a specific date' This is something great to go into your perfume collection if you like perfumes or like a good value but long lasting perfume on your shelf (if you go for 100 ml) but then I still used to carry my 100 ml in my bag at times, especially if I had a special occassion or was going out for the night and needed a perfume badly!
Having to watch the pennies recently, I have gradually dwindled down to having no perfume whatsoever. With perfume being so expensive ( well with what I like anyway!) I have had to make do without any which I really hate. So while out shopping with my Daughter this week we went into a well known chemist and saw that they were doing a special offer on the Calvin Klein IN2U for Her.
Never having tried this and not having an internet to check reviews on this while I am out ( just to see if it stays on for long and not just fade off after a couple of hours ect..) I decided to spray some on my wrist, left it for a few minutes and took a sniff. Well I was suprised as it had a very pleasant smell to it, not too overpowering with a light citrus, clean, fresh smell.
This would be perfect for work, although at first I didn't like the bottle as it reminded me of the "Old Spice" aftershave bottle. Since purchasing it I have grown to like it more. The bottle is clear on the bottom of the bottle with a curved V at the front, until you come up about an inch then it is covered in white plastic with CK cut out so you can see the perfume in the bottle, which then narrows to a small neck with a pull off top. When this is pulled off the spray top is then exposed.
I have worn it for work for the last few days and have been asked what I was wearing so that was nice. I do find it hard to notice any perfume on myself, so when someone else notices it this must mean that it is staying on well.
As for describing this scent, again I'm useless, but I have checked it out on line and have found out that it consists of;
" Fresh floral with a woody oriental base, with fresh pink grapefruit and bergamot with a note of red currant leaves.Notes of sugar orchid and white cactus are in the heart. The base notes are: amber, red cedar and vanilla"
So that is what the citrus smell was "pink grapefruit" the more I wear this the more I like it, it is quite different to what I would usually go for as I quite like a much heavier scent like "Youth Dew, Lady Millions ect.." but this is perfect for daytime use.
I purchased my 50ml bottle for £10.50 with my Daughters discount, but for everyone else it would have cost £14.00, which I think is very good indeed. This was an half price offer of the week, but having shopped about online I have seen that a particular website ( its a Cheap one!!) is selling this in a 100ml bottle for £21.45 which is very good and as soon as this bottle has disappeared will be purchasing another from this site!
I used to have a big 100ml bottle of CKOne which I loved for its extreme freshness and androgony and simple design. It was also cheap enough to use liberally without worrying about breaking the bank. I was disappointed when it ran out but had plenty of other perfumes to use so didn't repurchase but I had been missing that freshness in my collection. So when I was wandering round Boots, this was left out on one of the counter so I picked it up and sprayed it to test and liked it as it reminded me of CKOne but in an updated fashion. I ended up getting it for Christmas.
The first impression isn't amazing in that the perfume is not housed in the most attractive of bottles but you can't judge a perfume by its bottle. It starts off thin at the top and widens out and is a matt white and the bottom of the bottle is see-through and as if a chunk has been taken out so it sits unevenly. It's not really my thing but there we are.
The heart notes are sugar orchid, the top notes are pink grapefruit fizz and the base notes are neon amber. Though the heat note is sugar orchid and I would expect the perfume to be very sweet, it's not, the smell is actually floral, but not in the sweet way you'd expect, it's floral with a kick, floral with a twist and the main impression I get from this is actually citrus.
I like this but not as much as I used to. Sometimes, it's as if it's slightly off which I know it isn't so this is one I most likely won't repurchase after finishing. As with most Calvin Klein perfumes, it isn't too costly, 50ml costs £21.50 and £29.50 for 100ml at The Perfume Shop.
I'm not really one for perfume but for Christmas my Mum bought me a CK gift set which had a number of miniture bottles of perfume.
The one which caught my eye first of all was the In2U Her in an attractive glass bottle with a white casing over some of it so you can still see the golden colour of the perfume. It also has the CK cut through the white so you can see through the glass to the perfume.
I sprayed some onto my wrist and instantly found the aroma tingling my senses. It had a citrus smell but also a nice sweet smell. I was amazed how long the smell stayed for. Even after washing my hands several times the scent was still there right through until the end of the day. Lots of people have comented on how nice my perfume smells and what it is. CK In2U Her is a bit of a mouthful to say, I'll just leave the perfume to do the talking.
According to Calvin Klein CKIn2U Her eau de toilette opens with a burst of pink grapefruit fizz and a surge of mouth watering sugar orchid. The base of the scent is flush with seduction, satisfaction, and a lingering afterglow. So whats in it well its quite a list It's a fresh floriental with notes of redcurrant leaves, Sicilian bergamot, pink grapefruit fizz, sugar orchid, white cactus, red cedar, neon amber, and vanilla soufflé.
Wow I can't believe so many different things went in to make this but hey it works. I wonder how long it took them to get to these ingredients.
It comes in a number of sizes, 50ml for around £26, 100ml for around £34 or 150ml for £41.
As I work as a waitress/receptionist for a hotel chain one of my work rules is that I am not allowed to wear what my bosses claim as overpowering perfume! So it is always a challenge to find an everyday perfume. So when my last favourite bottle of Anna Sui Secret Wish perfume finally gave up the ghost I got myself down to my local boots and must have sniffed every perfume in the shop possibly more than once. And I finally came across this gorgeous new fragrance.
Ckin2U is a great everyday scent, fruity but not over sickly sweet which is a problem I do find with a lot of other fragrances. Bergamot is a favourite scent of mine which is one of the top notes of this CK perfume and although you do find that it depends what it is mixed with I think Calvin Klein have got it spot on with this latest perfume. The mix of fruitier/sweeter scents such as redcurrant leaves and vanilla Souffle take out the sometimes harsher tones of the Bergamot.
The bottle does lean slightly to the tackier side than some of the other more sculpted bottles out there on the shelves today, so if you are one of the girls who goes for perfumes more for the bottle than the scent then this is probably one you wouldn't be so keen to have on your bathroom shelf. With the bottom half of the bottle as glass and the top half of the bottle made of thick white plastic with the name carved out of it, not the most beautifully designed bottle out there, but as in life it's what's inside that counts.
As well as my love for this fragrance I have had compliments from friends, collegues and customers while wearing it, and I am often asked what it is I'm wearing. I would say that although I do enjoy the smell of this fragrance that on the whole I would class it as a more day to day perfume and not one to wear on a posh night out or a first date, and definately one to keep to the summer.
Priced at around 26.99 I would definately recommend CKin2U as an everyday summer fragrance, sweet but not too overpowering.
This scent also comes in a deodorant natural spray, body wash and skin moisturizer.
I got this for my birthday and immediately loved the smell. Its not too sweet and not too musty but has a nice middle ground scent which makes it so popular. Some fragrances once applied to your body and clothes immediately disappears and so can be a waste. I found with ckIN2U for Her lasted longer than most and sticks to clothes nicely without being overpowering. It is described as being sexy, youthful and cool; i would say its more for the younger generation as has a slight frutiness to it, it also does have a cool edge but i think thats mainly because i like the scent of it. A fragrance to be sexy is hard and so hard to analysis whether it is or not. The bottle is plain but cool enough to attract people. It doesnt waste lots of room with a fancy bottle so that you spend money just on the package rather than the actual product, you get your money's worth. Its not a universal fragrance as is more directed at the youths so thats a slight downfall of it. But overall i would recommend this product for a general nice scent.
I absolutely love this fragrance! a friend of mine had it on and i couldnt help but ask her what she perfume she had on. As soon as she told me i literally went to the store to pick myself a bottle. the bottle however wasnt to appealing but i thought the perfume smely lovely so why not. the fragrance is like a cross between something sweet and citrus. after a few hours the smell is musky kinda like vanilla. if your young maybe in your 20's this fragrance should appeal to you. the smell is strong if you spray yourself more than 6 sprays. i only spray about 4 and it doesnt need topping up for at least 6hours so its perfect if you want to wear it to school or on a night out. there is also a make version CKIN2 for him. so it would be nice to recive as a gift from the other half.
I just can't get to grips with this fragrance. It is almost peppery and artificial and just does not seem to be a high quality fragrance you would expect from such a company.
OK it may mean that it does not suit me or my nose but when I use the first spray it seems light and natural but it seems to change on my skin after approximately five minutes.
It was given to me as a Christmas presentand I will really try to get to like it but it is going to be very difficult. I do hate waste because it is not a cheap fragrance.
I also do not like the shape, size or weight of the of bottle. It is far too large and not that easy to handle, especially if you need some fragrance for travelling.
I do try to keep an open mind and think perhaps I am just being picky -
Wandering round Debenhams one day I decided that I wanted a new perfume - something a bit different. When I came across this bottle I remember seeing the tv ad and thought i'd try the tester.
Trying to open the bottle for ages my partner came along and showed me I had to twist the glass bitof the bottle at the bottom and the top came up. I sprayed it on and instantly felt very summery.
The smell is very flowery with a kind of fruity twist to it. Kind of smelt like pink grapefruit in a good way. It is quite a strong smell with only one squirt but is a very refreshing smell and to a point made me feel confident with it on. I let my partner smell it and he also liked it instantly.
For a 20ml bottle which I decided straight away I was going to buy cost me £12. The packaging is a gold colour with yellow writing, nothing spectacular about the box but I still felt I was buying something very special.
The bottle well as I previously said I found the lid hard to open on the first try as I was trying to press it to see if it came out the side. Then I tried to pull the lid which also didn't work. But eventually I managed to work it out with a little help and actually liked the quirky difference from other bottles.
The bottle is glass tinted a yellow colour, but only visible at the bottom as there is a white plastic over the rest of the bottle. On the white plastic some of the writing is silver and the rest is cut out of the plastic so the bottle colour comes through, which I also like. It's quite a different bottle to others and it definately won me over.
The only problem I find is you can't tell how much prefume you have left unless you lift it up to the light to see the line of your prefume through the cut out letters.
As I have so many perfumes it's hard to say which is my favourite but I will say this is definately one of them. It reminds me of my holiday in Bournemouth last June and going to the Formula One as I wore it then. So everytime I wear it, it brings back some fnatastic summer memories.
I don't know about you ladies out there, but I get very stuck in my ways with my perfume and I end up using the same scent for years on end without every trying anything new!! When I got married in 2007, I decided to be adventurous and get a brand new perfume for my wedding day that was different from the other perfume I always wore.
As we got married in Paphos, I decided to take a trip to the duty free store and purchase my new perfume. After smelling what seemed like millions of different fragrances I finally discovered CKin2U for her by Calvin Klein. I instantly fell in love with the smell so decided to purchase it before I changed my mind! It was one of the more expensive bottles and cost £30 for a 100ml eau de toilette spray. As it was duty free this did work out to be cheaper, I think the usual cost for a bottle this size is roughly £35-£40. They also do a mens version of this perfume but I didn't smell this so can't really comment on what it was like.
The box it comes in is Gold in colour and has the CKin2U logo down the front right hand side of the box. When you open the box, it has a white protective cardboard piece at the top that you have to open to reveal the bottle inside. The bottle itself is white in colour with the CKin2u logo on it and the bottom of it is clear glass, so you can see the perfume inside and see when it is running out. The bottle has a white removable lid that you take off to reveal the gold spray top. It is a pump action spray that sprays a fine mist of perfume with one squirt.
The smell to me is absolutely divine and whenever I spray it, it brings memories flooding back of my wedding in Paphos and reminds me of what a glorious day it was. The smell is a very light, summery smell. It is quite floral and soft; it doesn't smell harsh at all unlike some of the other Calvin Klein fragrances I have smelt in the past. Once the initial smell wears off it leaves a very light, fresh, fruity smell that lasts a good 4-6 hours, with a good all over body application!
Although this perfume is quite expensive I find that it last me well over a year, but I do only use it for special occasions, so may only end up using it a few times a month. I adore this perfume and will definitely keep re stocking once I run out!
I have the minature of this perfume. My boyfriend wanted me to choose a minature that I liked best and he would buy me the big one for xmas. It all came in a pretty pink box with some other Calvin Klein perfumes but this was my favourite.
Its small enough to keep in my handbag so I permenantly smell of this at the moment.
Its not a strong perfume, you dont instantly notice it on someone. It smells quite fruity and fresh, its definately a summer scent. The smell really suits me but I find I have to put quite a lot on for people to be able to notice it. Its got quite a citrus burst when you first smell it, but then it has other spicy like qualities like a lot of Calvin Klein perfumes.
When wearing it it doesnt last for too long, I find I have to put it on again after a few hours and its not a perfume that will last well when out on the town.
For something to wear on a night time I would recommend something by escada as they are stronger. This is a great day perfume and just gives you a nice spicy citrus smell.
I think the box of minatures cost 30euro in the airport but its probably more in shops because its a well known brand thats known for being expensive.
i love most of the calvin kline fragrances but i have to say that this one has got to be the best one i have tried out.you only need a little bit of it and it will last all day.the smell is refreshing and sexy at the same time.i will say when i smelt it on the wand in the shop i didnt really like the smell but then i got given some as a present and when i put it on myslef it seamed like a diffrent smell to it.sounds strange i know.when i wear it everyone says it smells nice and even my sister liked it that much that she had to go and get her own.whenever the someone i know goes away i ask them to get me some duty free.last year i git given the box set for christmas and the box it comes in is really nice
This is a really great perfume. i know many people that use it from old to young and it semlls really great on every one. it id very clean and fresh not over powering tho so if you like lots on dont worry!!! i feel that it is really good value for money as long as you shop around for it and remember you only need to use a really small amount to smell fresh all day. I also like the fact that you can buy all sorts of sizes so for people that would us it every day the larger one would be better and for people that only use is when they are going out or have two or three perfumes on the go at once the smaller one may be the best option i would suggest everyone to go and try this as i know that i love it.
Ck In 2u for women by Calvin Klein is a fresh oriental fragrance with notes of redcurrant leaves, sicilian bergamot, pink grapefruit fizz, sugar orchid, white cactus, red cedar, neon amber, and vanilla souffle, it is a real summer boost and is great for making you feel like getting up and out in the sun, it is the perfect perfume to take on holiday as it is simple and fresh and doesent smell as though you are going over the top, it is very nicely presented with its glass bottle which is half plastic covered with its writing and underneath showing in the glass, this perfum is a little bit pricey but it is well worth adding to your collection if your a perfume lover such as myself as it is just a great defined smell and is actually quite different to many perfumes with its very fresh smell, go buy and enjoy!!!!
I want to get one thing out in the open straight away: I love perfume. Because of this, I have far too many bottles, but always feel like I want more anyway. I go through perfume phases, where I become obsessed with one scent and won't wear anything else. On the flipside, I sometimes get so fed up with a perfume that I just can't wear it anymore and my bottle will be confined to the back of the shelf. If it wasn't for perfume and shoes, I'd be a very rich lady.
As I've got older, my perfume tastes have matured a bit, and I've been moving into stronger, headier perfumes such as Agent Provocateur and anything by Chanel or Dior but shunning my younger scents - the Lancome O Oui, the Cacharel Anais Anais, etc. So naturally, I was horrified when I unwrapped my birthday presents last year and I discovered a bottle of CKIN2U perfume.
Of course, I was polite. I acted thrilled. I should be on the stage. Inside I was cringing. Everything about this perfume made me want to hate it:
- I've never liked any CK perfumes. Ever.
- I hate text talk. The fact this was called IN2U wound me up a LOT. Eats Shoots and Leaves is my bible.
- It looked really summery and fresh - not quite Agent Provocateur-y.
- I'd been given a massive bottle of it - with no receipt. It was clearly quite expensive.
- I'd never smelt it before - I'm quite precious about perfume, and my dad had got it - without even giving it a sniff - because it was on offer in a duty free shop. Charming.
But it was my birthday! And they were all watching! So I had to give it a squirt. And to my great surprise, I didn't hate it at all. It actually made quite a nice change to wear a fresh perfume. As my birthday is in July, it suddenly seemed more appropriate to be wearing this than my normal domanatrix-style scents.
So I stuck with it and continued to use this as my daytime scent throughout the summer last year. And I grew to love it. This is a casual scent. I would not wear this out for a formal evening do, or for a romantic dinner a deux - this fragrance suits summer afternoons, happy and carefree days, and casual evenings with friends instead. I find this to be a very "happy" fragrance, and it does seem to boost my mood as soon as I spray it on.
Ok, a little about how perfume works, for the uninitiated. When a fragrance is created, it will generally contain a number of "notes" - yes, like a musical chord. The "top notes" are the ones that you will smell first, as soon as the perfume is applied. The "base notes" are the deeper, woodier fragrances which will linger on the skin for most of the day. Many perfumes will also have "middle notes", which are scents that will remain on the skin for a few hours before wearing off. So if you are finding that a perfume seems to wear off after a few minutes, then you might be having difficulty detecting the middle and base notes in your fragrance.
CKIN2U (honestly, it still winds me up that this has such an awful name!) is classified as a "floriental" perfume - a neat little word invented by the industry which means a floral oriental perfume. Considering the citrussy notes in this fragrance, I would say that floriental is not quite the right classification for it, but never mind.
Notes in the perfume are:
- Pink Grapefruit
- Red Currant Leaves
- Sugar Orchid
- White Cactus
- Neon Amber (I think they've made this one up!)
- Red Cedar
Pink Grapefruit and Bergamot are the top notes in this fragrance, meaning that upon application you will be struck with a citrussy freshness, which will fade fairly quickly. The next couple of hours will see the fragrance develop into a more floral, but still fresh scent, as the Sugar Orchid and Red Currant Leaves come out. The lingering base note that you will be left with is a light woody fragrance, with traces of the floral middle notes.
This fragrance is now my preferred daytime scent in the summer, and I do use it to cheer myself up on a miserable winter's day when I have to go to work. The citrus top notes seem to linger a little longer than most top notes do, and the choice of grapefruit instead of any other citrus scent for these means that this will never smell too sweet.
CKIN2U comes in a rather unattractive bottle, which looks like a man's deodorant. The bottom of the bottle is shaped glass, and the top part is covered with white plastic, with "ckIN2U" cut out around the main part of it. Truly hideous. You will find this monstrous bottle in a much better looking gold and yellow shiny box. I have the 100ml version, which retails at about £33; it is also available in 50ml, which you should be able to find for under £20 - so it is pretty reasonably priced.
