Advantages: Great price, lovely smell, good product..

Disadvantages: None for me!

I got married recently, and had been looking around for a fragrance to wear on my big day. I wanted something that was a bit different to the fragrances I normally wear, that would last all day during our celebrations and that came in a bottle small enough to fit into my rather small-ish bridal handbag.

The scent that I finally decided on was one that I used to wear some years ago, but had got out of the habit of wearing - not through any 'fault' of the scent as such, my tastes just evolved slightly and I got into trying new things, I guess.

My decision made, I returned home with my purchase, packaged inside a pretty peach-coloured square box nestled the newest addition to my bridal attire - a circular shaped bottle of "Cerruti 1881" Femme Eau de Toilette.

The selection was surprisingly easy to make. It was whilst I was in my local Boots superstore, trying out this fragrance and sampling that one that my eye happened upon the peach coloured box of Cerruti. Recognising the packaging immediately, I gave the perfume a good spray over my wrist and was instantly reminded of the gorgeous scent that I used to wear regularly. Remembering also that the scent had very good 'staying power' (and given that this was one of the criteria that I was eager my 'Wedding scent' should fulfil), my mind was made up shortly after spraying the much-loved perfume over my skin, and with that I made my purchase.

I paid around £14 for the 30ml sized spray, but it is also available in a 100ml spray for around £30, which is obviously better value but the bigger sized spray would have been cumbersome to carry around with me on my wedding day. I do believe that it is worth shopping around for perfumes and fragrances online and in shops such as "The Perfume Shop", as their prices are usually cheaper. As I was short of time and eager to finish making any last-minute purchases that I had to make, I opted for the convenient choice of buying the perfume there and then, from my local Boots store.

The scent itself is fairly hard to describe, but the first word that comes to mind is feminine. The first whiff of the perfume is a very sweet scented fragrance overall, but not in any way sickly or overpowering. I also think that the sweet tone to the perfume does last for quite a while once it is sprayed on, but the sweetness subsides a little so that the underlying scents come through more easily.

The underlying scent is something that I find to be very floral and again feminine. Though I would not say that the floral fragrance is too much in the way that other floral fragrances can be, a trait which I find to be quite off-putting if I am being honest. I think that a lot of perfumes with a floral undertone to them seem to be aimed at the more 'mature' market and remind me of something that my grandmother (who is in her 80s) would wear. I do not find this to be an issue with the Cerruti fragrance though, and in fact find the opposite to be true as both the scent and the packaging are, in my opinion, aimed at a younger market.

The packaging is made up of a circular bottle as I mentioned earlier. The lid of the bottle is made of a sort of bronze-coloured plastic which is very shiny and so looks like it is made of metal. The bottom half of the circular bottle is a frosted glass in a peach colour, through which I can see the perfume liquid inside the bottle. Both of these half circle shapes fit together neatly to form a circular bottle which I think is quite unique in it's design and is certainly very attractive looking.

The full name of the product is "Cerruti pour Femme 1881 Eau de Toilette", the 'Pour Femme' of course relating to the fact the scent is a ladies one. There is a matching aftershave in the collection which - funnily enough - has the name 'Pour Homme'. There are several matching items to the Cerruti 1881 perfume, such as a matching shower gel. There is also a gift set containing both items which is worth bearing in mind with Christmas just around the corner. The gift set is currently available from www.boots.com for £22 which I think is really fantastic value.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Cerruti 1881 Eau de Toilette. I am so glad that I decided to go with this scent for my wedding day as it really made me feel very feminine and girly without being overpowering in any way. Oh and it is worth noting that at no point during the day did I need to reapply the fragrance as it could still be detected very easily throughout the day and into the evening celebrations.

I'll be hinting to Santa to please buy me more of this fragrance due to being so mad about it once again, I have seldom been wearing any alternative fragrances over the past month or so and so the bottle that I originally purchased is almost empty!

A full set of Dooyoo marks from me, and this really is one gorgeous scent that I would highly recommend for those of you looking for Christmas present ideas!
