Advantages: Recogniseable, long lasting, smells great

Disadvantages: Expensive and possibly getting a bit too common

When I first wrote an opinion in Chanel Allure I was the first one to do so. I was I have to say suprised at that, as such a lovely perfume from one of the biggest names in the market had to have a much wider fan base surely!? As you can see there are now a number of reviews on the fragrance attesting to its increasing popularity.

Chanel Allure was launched by the design house of Chanel in 1996. Unlike many of the other Chanel scents I believe that they designed this with a much younger audience in mind. Unlike the classic Channel No7 it is significantly lighter and more refreshing.I am in my early twenties and I guess I always associated Chanel with older women, but Allure has definitely proved to be very popular with the younger market.

Allure is classified as a refreshing, oriental, floral fragrance.A feminine scent that possesses a blend of soft sweet spices, orange flowers as well as fruity notes of fresh citrus, melons, peaches, and plum.
AS I always say when writing reviews on scents, it is so hard to actually describe what "Allure" is really like apart from the fact that it is quite soft and beautiful. It also has a musky almost vanilla feel to it, which I like a great deal in perfumes.

I do not wear and do not like heavy purfumes, and Allure although distinctive is definitely not overpowering. Saying this though it is long lasting and at the end of a day at work I still smell of A"llure", I remain "very alluring indeed"!! "Allure" it has to be said has proven very popular with the men. I have had many comments about how nice I smell and I think it must be a scent that is appealing to a lot of men, as on a number of occasions they have told me what I am wearing rather than the other way around.

As with most Channel scents the perfume does come at a cost and they also have a number of other related products that are equally alluring! Firstly, they have a moisturising creme w
hich is actually in the form of a light mist spray that lightly covers your skin and lasts all day. This is very expensive at nearly £40 as well, but mine has out lived 2 bottles of the perfume. There is also a quite revolutionary hair perfume. When I first saw this I was curius, surely wasn't it a waste? Couldn't you just use the regular perfume? Well, as I was informed by the counter lady (although obviously they would do or say anything for their commission), it containds certain ingredients and it works well for example when you have been out in a pub and smell of smoke and have not been able to wash you hair. This also comes at a price over £30. However, even if you only opt for the perfume it is good that they do have a matching range.

All in all, I may experiment with other fragrances, yet Chanel Allure is always the one I return to and wear on special occasions.
