      Subtle, smooth, powerful and masculine

Brace yourselves if your man decides to go buy himself a bottle of Antaeus ladies, as this stuff is hot! Super cooling air con and ice buckets may be required! As Chanel Antaeus for men, exudes masculinity at its very best.

It oozes charm and sensuality, hints of success and compliments your mans inner strength. Its dark, its a bit mean, yet its very generous too and if I had just one word to describe Antaeus it would be... Phwoar!

Way back in 1981 a lovely chap called Jacques Polge, created his first ever fragrance for the men of this world and it became known as Antaeus. Boy oh boy, did he do you lads a favour too! Sensible women all over the world have been known to swoon at the mere hint of this stuff and if you ladies, have caught a whiff of a hot looking guy drenched in a splash of Antaeus, you will know why!

      *********************************************************
The name of the fragrance is taken from Antaeus the Greek mythological hero. Antaeus was seen as a symbol of strength and masculinity to the greeks. He was only vulnerable if his feet were not touching the ground. So he was a bit of a super hero really! Just like any Chanel Antaeus wearing guy should be.

During 1981, Chanel felt that what the 1980's man needed was a mens fragrance which in their words, 'expressed the spirited personality of a born leader with a charming and gentle side'. So taking its lead from our hero, Antaeus the fragrance came into being.

      **********************************************************
With a stunning blend that is both subtle yet bold the fragrance took the fragrance world by surprise and caused a sensation amongst the fragrance buying public. Chanel were on to a real winner and Antaeus remains as gorgeous now as it ever was. This is in many ways due to the power of the 95 raw materials that are needed to produce Antaeus.

Antaeus is a blend of clary sage, smoldering patchoulli, myrtle and alpine lavender, combined with a dash of spice, wood and leather. The only thing that I can think of that is perhaps similar in a womans fragrance, would be Paloma Picasso. Although I think Antaeus is more polished than that and has a more subtle, almost soft but citrusy longevity about it when on the skin for a few hours.

      ********************************************************
The fragrance comes as either an After Shave or and Eau de Toilette and is packed into an angular but sleek, midnight black understated bottle, with the entwined trade mark CC's of the Chanel brand clearly on the front. The box is a deep blood red, almost burgundy with a classic black line around the outside to echo the bottle within.

The 50ml EDT is £42 in Boots at the moment and the 100ml is really good value at £52. This bigger bottle gives you twice as much product for just £10 more.

As Antaeus has fantastic staying power on the skin, you will need just a small splash of the EDT. However, it may be wise to invest in the larger bottle in the long run, as once your woman gets a sniff of you wearing Antaeus, you will both be making sure you wear it more often.

Subtle, smooth, powerful and masculine. Antaeus gets a big 5 star rating!
