If I had to sum up "Channel no. 5" in five words they would be, Sexy, Seductive, Irresistible, Classy and Divine.


Channel No. 5 Eau de Parfum

It was 1920 when this perfume was introduced, it is the worlds best selling women's perfume, with the delectable blended classic fragrances of ylang-ylang, amber, iris, patchouli, neroli, grasse jasmine, may rose, sandalwood and vanilla. It is a gentle, refined, floral fragrance. Recommended for evening wear. Thought of as quite an expensive fragrance, but worth every penny. This perfume is very popular, it also triggered the designer industry of today. Many famous faces have been seen advertising this ever popular perfume, from Marilyn Monroe to Nicole Kidman.

Channel no. 5 perfume comes in a flat, square shaped glass bottle, which is transparent so you can see the perfume inside, the lid on my perfume is a glass stopper, but it does also come in a the spray variety.
It costs from £85.00 for a 100 ml spray bottle and from around £130.00 for 100 ml in a bottle with a stopper. Prices shown are available on Amazon at present. I guess the price varies so much because with a spray most of it goes everywhere, but if you dab your perfume, it's not going to be wasted and will last you a lot longer. It is available in smaller sizes which of course brings the price down somewhat. My husband paid around £40.00 for a tiny 7.5 ml bottle, just to make sure I had some.


My opinion and experience

I have worn this perfume for as long as I can remember, I don't know why I started to use it, I guess I must have smelt it somewhere and decided I had to have some for myself. Over the years I have become addicted to it and constantly have to make sure I always have some. My daughter says whenever she smells it, where ever she is, she thinks of me, she says, I am Channel no. 5.

I don't wear this fragrance all the time as it is far to over powering for everyday use, not to mention far to expensive. However the scent on your skin just lasts and lasts, for me it seems to get stronger, being more noticeable as the night wears on. I think the idea of watering down this wonderful fragrance to produce an Eau de toilette spray is a big mistake, this perfume should be used and worn as intended, maybe costs a bit more, but if you want Channel no. 5 then that's what you should get, not some cheap diluted version, it's just a waste of a decent perfume.

Since I started wearing this perfume, I have noticed that in the past it has had a sort of "Lynx body spray" effect as regards attracting attention from the opposite sex. So in my opinion, this perfume can work as a sort of lure, It definitely worked on my husband, with both of us liking the fragrance so much, it works really well for me I can use this perfume to lure him in, any time I like, it never fails, it is all I need to wear, to guarantee a really good night. My latest bottle of Channel no. 5 was given to me by my husband, he also likes to make sure I always have a bottle.

Maybe some will disagree with me and that's fine, but as this is my opinion, I've told it my way. Perfume smells different on everyone and each and every woman will know their favorite fragrance and will most probably feel just as passionate about their own perfume.

My five little words explained

Sexy: It just makes me feel that way.
Seductive: Gives me the power to seduce and to be seduced.
Irresistible: Is how my husband makes me feel when I wear it.
Classy: It's really in a class of it's own.
Divine: To me, the scent is nothing but.

Although there are many perfumes I like, nothing has ever come close to Channel No. 5, and for me personally, my five little words sum this delightful perfume up, that's the reason I'm giving Channel No. 5 five stars.
