I first came across Chanel Pour Monsieur as a teenager. My cousin was wearing it and I was immediately captured by it's soft aroma. The scent is alluring, warm and wonderful without being potent. As a female, I've been wearing this for years because although it is fresh, it's top notes are citrusy, deriving from Sicilian lemons. For those who like the blend of citrus and subtle musk, this is perfect! The smell is beautifully evocative, luring forth fond memories from yesteryear. A few squirts last all day, softening so that it becomes warmer, releasing the base note scent of vertiver. Originally launched in 1955, and re-launched in 1989, this is a refined and classy fragrance that few of the under 30s will be atttracted to! Nonetheless it remains timeless.
A quick word of caution: the EDT version is very different. It is strong and pungent and not at all the same scent.

Summary: understated and elegant
