Advantages: Nice bottle

Disadvantages: price and sickly sweet smell

I recently purchased a 30ml bottle of Chloe perfume for around £35.00, which is more than I would usually spend but I had some vouchers to use.

I have to say, I wish I had bought a handbag instead! ;-)

The most recent Chloe perfume went on sale in 2008, although the first Chloe perfume was initially released in 1975.

The 2008 Chloe scent is floral, containing freesia, rose, peony, woods, spices and musks. For me, the scent is much too sweet. Following a spray or two of it in the evening, I can still smell it the following evening (value for money some might say!) and it often gives me a headache.

The ribbed, and somewhat masculine, glass bottle does look very pretty however, with a pick ribbon tied around the neck. The packaging is nice too - cream, simple and elegant.

I purchased the perume from a well known department store and the staff were particularly helpful, providing me with several tester sticks for various scents. Although I tested Chloe on the stick and later on my skin, the scent seems to get stronger with more wear, which for me meant it became overpowering.

I think in the future I will stick to my old favourite - Ghost. Lovely and floral and light! And at around £20.00, a much more affordable option!

Summary: Avoid!

Headaches from perfumes are often caused by synthetics. Thanks for the warning.
