My fiancé recently bought me Chopard Brilliant Wish, which was one of the latest additions to my long list of desired fragrances.
The two things I always used to say that I disliked about perfumes were:
1. When the bottle doesn't stand up on its own and
2. Limited edition fragrances or spin off fragrances, which have been released off the back of a similar fragrance's popularity.
Brilliant Wish by Chopard falls into both of these categories and I am finding myself choosing a lot more spin off fragrances these days.
Wish is the original fragrance released by Chopard back in 1999. Brilliant Wish was launched in 2010.
~ Bottle ~
I really like the bottle design, which is what first attracted me to this perfume.
I have the 75ml bottle of eau de parfum.
The bottle is made from glass and is shaped like a diamond or a precious gem stone with angular edges going down to a point.
At the top of the bottle there is a gold coloured cylinder shaped lid with a flexible ring on it (as pictured). This is removed to reveal the spray nozzle.
Around the top of the bottle the words, 'Wish' and 'Chopard' are embossed onto the gold coloured metal. I would have expected, 'Brilliant Wish' would have been put on there instead.
The perfume itself is a light yellowy colour.
~ Price ~
This perfume is available from www.cheapsmells.com in 50ml and 75ml bottles.
The 50ml bottle is £22.95 (RRP £35.00).
The 75ml bottle is £29.65 (RRP £45.00).
I have the 75ml bottle and not only is it better value, I think it is the perfect size. It fits in your hand nicely.
I think the 50ml bottle would look a bit too small.
~ Scent ~
Brilliant Wish is light, fresh and floral.
The notes include star jasmine, fruity notes, pink pepper, amber and woods.
The pink pepper is the first scent that jumps out at me. I love pink pepper, but in this fragrance it is quite strong. It is combined with a sweet fruitiness to take away the sharp edge.
The jasmine brings a white floral element to the perfume. It is fresh, soft and delicate and I think it really makes this perfume.
It is a light perfume and I find it quite subtle on my skin and I have found it only lasts around 6 hours after I have applied it, which is not very good for an eau de parfum.
The fragrance is feminine and fresh and I think it is great for spring/summer wear. I wear this as a day time fragrance rather than for nights out or special occasions as I think it is a bit subtle for night time wear.
It think it smells expensive, certainly more expensive than it actually is.
I think it would be enjoyed by women of all ages. I am in my 20's and I really like this fragrance, but I could just as easily imagine a woman in her 50's wearing this scent as well. I don't think anyone would find the scent offensive.
~ Conclusion ~
Although this perfume is quite subtle and not the longest lasting I think it is really nice.
I love the design of the bottle and it can be picked up at a reasonable price.
I would recommend this perfume, although the longevity isn't great, which is something to bear in mind.
