      great to wear

Dior have some great fragrances, I have tried a lot of them. Eau savage is a classic one that smells great when I use it. I can wear it any time, day night, winter, summer, when ever I wear it this is a great aroma.

This is not a bargain priced eau de toilette, last time I got some it was £39.99 for a bottle. It would cost more now. My bottle was a 50ml size so not the biggest you can buy. It has lasted very well and I still have it.

I know that this lasts a long time. That makes the price feel a bit better. I only need a small splash to create a long lasting fragrance on my skin. I use it just once in a day and it stays on me for hours.

I like the smell. It is a citrus aroma with a smoothness that is very classic. It creates a stylish effect and I get many compliments when I wear eau savage. The aroma is never too strong for me, it is always just right.

The citrus aroma lasts so well. I can put this on in the morning and still smell it in the afternoon. I think that the musk and amber in eau savage make it last longer when its on me.

The citrus bergamot aroma in eau savage is not all it has. There is basil, lavender and other influences hiding in there as well. They all add to the aroma and make it in to what I enjoy wearing. I think they make this fresh and full.

I think that this is a fragrance for a confident man who likes to look and smell great. It is steps ahead of the many loud fragrances you can buy, it is quieter but still shows off what it can do.

I think the bottle used is stylish. Its curved with structured and angled lines around a plain centre. The lid is sliver and looks smart and bold but not cheap. The seal from the lid is good and you get no leaks from it.

I would recommend eau savage from dior as it is a stylish fragrance that is as good as it ever was. It smells great from start to finish. It is expensive but to me its worth it.

A classically fresh and invigorating scent from the renouned house of Dior

Christian Dior Eau Savage for men is a classic, having been available and loved for many years both by men and, possibly more importantly, women who appreciate the scent on a man. The scent is fresh, with mainly a citrus note which may prove a little too sharp for some, but it is definately clean, not overpowering or clawing as some scents can be. It would suit a man of any age, but primarily says the young "man about town", professional, successful, dynamic and up to date. Of course, coming from the house of Dior it is never low priced, but Christian Dior´s consistent quality and well earned reputation will never be let down by Eau Savage. Some men who use a warmer aftershave in the cooler months, love Eau Savage for the spring and summer where it´s vibrant, crisp and fresh scent really comes into it´s own. A great idea as a present for your successful young professional!

A pleasant lemon and rosemary fragrance.

      --- CHRISTIAN DIOR EAU SAUVAGE.---

Eau Sauvage Eau de Toilette comes in a rather nice bottle. It has swirly ridges around the glass bottle. To the middle it has a silver band with the Eau Sauvage written in black writing, along with the maker Christian Dior, Paris. To the reverse you have the weight of 50 ml and parfums Christian Dior Paris. Made in France. The lid is silver in a mottled effect, which is also on the silver band around the centre of the bottle. This is a good quality bottle, as you would expect from a top fashion house such as Christian Dior. Very distinctive, and it is a nice bottle to keep once the after shave has run out. Perfume bottles are highly collectable and it would be worth keeping good ones such as these, as they appreciate in value greatly.

Christian Dior do an impressive range of products for the man, including the great fragrances Fahrenheit, and Dior Homme, with complimentary products for an all over fragrance. Eau Sauvage has crisp top notes of Rosemary, lemon and petit grain, and I think the lemon is the first fragrance which is evident when you first inhale this Eau de Toilette. This is a lively, vibrant, citrus infused fragrance.

This after shave is elegant, discreet and very fresh. I am quite fond of Fahrenheit, myself, with it's sandlewood and patchouli notes. This on the other hand is distinctive with the lemon as the top note, following through with the heart notes of basil, and water jasmin, and drying down with vetiver, which is an perennial Indian grass, which the essential oil is extracted from, and it is often used in top end perfumes.

Christian Dior is known as "The most recognised name in fashion" and he was the man who ruled the fashion scene in the 1950's, and had Yves St, Laurent as his assistant, has an impressive number of fragrances under his belt including Poison, j'adore, Dune, Diorissimo, and Forever and ever, and always, to name but a few, and I was quite surprised to learn just how few fragrances for men he has brought out.

Eau Sauvage is a quality aftershave for a man who likes a lighter, more cologne themed fragrance. The lemon has a nice fresh crisp smell at first, but it dies down considerably when it has been on the skin for a few minutes, to reveal a much more masculine woody fragrance coming through, with undertones of rosemary. It really is a lovely mixture of notes. When it has been on the skin for some time you then get the grassy scent rising; the base note of vetiver.

In my opinion, I would say this fragrance would be suited to a more mature man, being more of a cologne style scent. The Eau Sauvage lasts well on the skin all day, it would need to be reapplied in the evening, as the scent will be starting to die down then.-

Best price that I found for 50 ml, was: £22.80 from: http://health-beauty.pricegrabber.co.uk

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

In a man's lifetime, there are few occassions when he discovers something that he can associate with through his ages. One of those is a particular scent. In this case, we have Dior's Eau Sauvage, a virile and astonishgingly fresh cologne for men, first introduced to me by my Dad who wore it back when I was a child. Created in 1966, it has remained without a doubt, one of the most unique and refined gentleman's colognes around. Describing its olfactory impact is quite a task. It is at once both strikingly simple and remarkably complex. So lets start with the top notes, the things you smell the moment you open the lid and splash it on. Here we are greeted with a Fresh smell of Lemon and Rosemary. Yes, this is a citrus cologne, but don't go thinking along the lines of a paperthin CK experience just yet. What we have here is a heavyweight of the cologne world. The Top notes of Lemon will last, and last. What this effectively means, is that you will smell this later in the day, but it will be highly refined, not like a Fairy liquid squirt, but more like you've visited a classy Aveda shop. The cologne then settles down to a nice smooth lemon led aura, with a hint of flowers. This is what makes it so refined, it seems to be a scent designed to use the flowers to keep you feeling fresh and happy. Over time it settles down to a nice grassy smell, almost like you've walked into a field of flowers with fresh grass, and a strikingly sharp lemon tree. This is one scent that will last from 9am to 5pm without a doubt, never being overpowering or giving you a headache. So why write a review of an old time cologne, when CK churns out new bottles yearly? Well, its because a new bottle from CK doesn't necessarily mean its a classic scent. What Eau Sauvage has, is a strong reputation built on honest hard work - its a fresh scent that stands aside of the normal citrus crowd. When you are looking to buy a new scent for the
summer afternoons of 2003, pop into a Department store and walk over to the men's cologne stand. Ask to try Dior's Eau Sauvage, and take a fresh look at what it means to be distinguished. Its not something you're average chap off to the bars would wear. Its time and place to me, are the Summer season, on a chap who's lounging around in the park, or cafe. Alternatively, and this is its true home, its on a Suited businessman who's moving around during Spring/Summer. Give it a go, not everyone will like it which is normal, but its a definite classy number that will set you aside from the crowd.

I love a man who takes time out to smell good. Luckily I married one who will use and appreciates nice smellies. We grew up in the era when all their was for men was Old Spice, then came Brut, then Aramis which he used to wear, and every other bloke around used the same. Then I bought him eau savage, ooh lovely a real turn on, a very sensual, assertive but not an overpowering fragrance. Does not cross the boundary of masculine/feminine, it is definitely masculine. No question of don't you think it's a bit puffy (scuse spelling). This must be one of the most underrated aftershave/colognes around, but I don't mind, I like the old feller to smell different from everyone else. He still tries other colognes but Eau de Savage is the one he always comes back to.
