--- CHRISTIAN DIOR EAU SAUVAGE.---

Eau Sauvage Eau de Toilette comes in a rather nice bottle. It has swirly ridges around the glass bottle. To the middle it has a silver band with the Eau Sauvage written in black writing, along with the maker Christian Dior, Paris. To the reverse you have the weight of 50 ml and parfums Christian Dior Paris. Made in France. The lid is silver in a mottled effect, which is also on the silver band around the centre of the bottle. This is a good quality bottle, as you would expect from a top fashion house such as Christian Dior. Very distinctive, and it is a nice bottle to keep once the after shave has run out. Perfume bottles are highly collectable and it would be worth keeping good ones such as these, as they appreciate in value greatly.

Christian Dior do an impressive range of products for the man, including the great fragrances Fahrenheit, and Dior Homme, with complimentary products for an all over fragrance. Eau Sauvage has crisp top notes of Rosemary, lemon and petit grain, and I think the lemon is the first fragrance which is evident when you first inhale this Eau de Toilette. This is a lively, vibrant, citrus infused fragrance.

This after shave is elegant, discreet and very fresh. I am quite fond of Fahrenheit, myself, with it's sandlewood and patchouli notes. This on the other hand is distinctive with the lemon as the top note, following through with the heart notes of basil, and water jasmin, and drying down with vetiver, which is an perennial Indian grass, which the essential oil is extracted from, and it is often used in top end perfumes.

Christian Dior is known as "The most recognised name in fashion" and he was the man who ruled the fashion scene in the 1950's, and had Yves St, Laurent as his assistant, has an impressive number of fragrances under his belt including Poison, j'adore, Dune, Diorissimo, and Forever and ever, and always, to name but a few, and I was quite surprised to learn just how few fragrances for men he has brought out.

Eau Sauvage is a quality aftershave for a man who likes a lighter, more cologne themed fragrance. The lemon has a nice fresh crisp smell at first, but it dies down considerably when it has been on the skin for a few minutes, to reveal a much more masculine woody fragrance coming through, with undertones of rosemary. It really is a lovely mixture of notes. When it has been on the skin for some time you then get the grassy scent rising; the base note of vetiver.

In my opinion, I would say this fragrance would be suited to a more mature man, being more of a cologne style scent. The Eau Sauvage lasts well on the skin all day, it would need to be reapplied in the evening, as the scent will be starting to die down then.-

Best price that I found for 50 ml, was: £22.80 from: http://health-beauty.pricegrabber.co.uk
(MRP £32.00)
